Apple iPad 2 Adhesive

I need to repair my device. What is Apple iPad 2 Adhesive used for?

This is used to seal down your top touch screen digitizer during the repair. The digitizer on an iPad Mini sets down onto the main back housing of your device. If you do not use some type of iPad adhesive to seal your screen down, you will need to use really messy glue instead. If you opt to use glue, any glue that gets on your internal components can destroy your device. At the very least, it will make any further repairs on your device almost impossible.

I replaced my iPad 2 digitizer, but the Apple iPad 2 Adhesive, will not work!

1. After sealing down your top touch screen, place a couple of rubber bands around your device (one up top, and one on the bottom). Let the rubber bands stay on your device for 24 hours. This will normally apply enough pressure to allow the adhesive to create a solid seal and keep your digitizer in place.
2. If your top digitizer will not set down flush with your device, you may have some type of debris or residual glass left on your device. Remove your top glass, and clear out the entire frame of your device.  A can of air, or the metal pry tool (included with your DIY kit) will easily dislodge any remnants of your original broken screen. Your new digitizer should now seal just fine.
3. Was your frame bent during the initial impact of your device? If so, you will need to bend the iPad frame back into place before this adhesive will work correctly. If none of these three things work…
4. Then you may need extra adhesive, or you may have a defective digitizer. Contact your source for the parts to see what their warranty will cover. If your parts came from Phone Doctors…
