How to Fix Common Problems with LG G2 Repair

How to Fix Common Problems with LG G2 Repair

We are here to help! Our technicians have answered the most common questions about how to fix common problems with LG G2 repair process.  Depending on the device, mobile phone and tablet repairs can be a tedious process.  Troubleshooting is a vital part of both diagnosing a broken part, and discovering what step was missed after repair.  Relax, we are here to make your life easier.

We offer a full lineup of repair parts for the LG G2 including:

LG G2 Back Camera: This is your default camera located on the back of your device under the main housing. If you are experiencing problems such as a fuzzy image or lines through your pictures, you may need to replace your camera lens instead of your entire camera. If your pictures look distorted while viewing on your device, but after downloading them to your computer are clear, your screen has gone bad not the camera. If you are having any other problem with your camera, then this is the part you need.

LG G2 Ear Speaker: This is your main hearing piece when using your device in normal phone mode. Unlike other devices, the G2 ear speaker is not a simple part that can be easily exchanged. Heat must be applied to your motherboard during this repair, and there is a risk that your motherboard may be damaged during the repair process. If you are uncertain if the ear speaker is the problem, we suggest trying other troubleshooting steps prior to this repair.

LG G2 Front Camera: This is your secondary camera located on the front of your device. If you are experiencing problems such as a fuzzy image or lines through your pictures, you may actually have damage over the lens area of your front camera (your screen). If your pictures look distorted while viewing on your device, but after downloading them to your computer are clear, your screen has gone bad not the camera. If you are having any other problem with your camera, then this is the part you need.

LG G2 Power Plus Volume Flex Cable: This is your primary on/off and sound level controller on your device. Unlike other devices, these buttons are located on the back of your device under your main housing. You will need a good pry tool (available in our DIY kits) in order to access this part. This cable does not include the external cosmetic buttons for this device. If your G2 will no longer turn on, off, lock, or adjust the volume level, then this is the part you need.

LG G2 SIM Card Tray: This is an easy replacement if you have a SIM Card Removal Tool. We include both with your order of this part! Our SIM trays do not include any serial numbers like the original tray does. Your IMEI number can always be found under the settings section of your device.

LG G2 Touch Screen Digitizer: This is the top glass of your device, and controls your main touch function. The digitizer is a separate component from your main LCD display screen. If you cannot see an image on your device, you will need to replace your LCD screen along with your digitizer. If your touch function no longer works, or your top glass is broken, then this is the part you need.

LG G2 Touch Screen Digitizer Plus LCD Display: This controls both your touch function and your main image display. If your top glass is broken, your touch function is unresponsive, or you have no image display, then this is the part you need. This screen comes with both your top digitizer and your lower LCD fused together for easy assembly.

My phone is freezing, running slow, repair did not work, spazzing out! What can I do?

Performing a soft reset can resolve issues like continuous resetting/rebooting, crashing, freezing, can’t make or receive calls, and other general software related problems. This process is similar to rebooting a computer after it freezes up. Phones are small computers after all.

Soft Reset – This should not erase your data, but it is always a good idea to do a backup. With your device turned on…

  1. Press and hold Power Button (around 5 seconds).
  2. Your device will now shut down and reboot.

Alternate Method; With your device turned off…

  1. Press and hold Power Button until the LG Logo appears then release.

I did a soft reset, but my phone is still not working correctly. What can I do?

A hard reset can resolve issue like: blank or frozen screen, crashing apps, touch screen problems, no audio, random noises, no call functionality or sync errors.

Hard Reset – **This process will erase all your data**, and erase any accounts linked to your device as well.

  1. From the Home Screen, Select: Apps.
  2. From the Apps Tab, Select: Settings.
  3. Select: Backup & Restore.
  4. Select: Factory Data Reset.
  5. Select: Reset Phone (Enter Password if Prompted).
  6. Select: Erase Everything (This may take several minutes).

I replaced my LG G2 Back Camera, now it will not work!

  1. If your pictures look distorted while viewing on your device, but after downloading them to your computer they are clear, your screen has gone bad not the camera. If…
  2. You only get half a picture, then your camera is either partly unplugged, or is miss aligned. Try reopening your device, and see if there is anything blocking your camera. If…
  3. Your pictures look fuzzy, there may be a protective film over the lens. Re-do the repair, and make certain there are no scratches on the lens, or protective films over the camera.
  4. If this does not resolve the problem you may have a defective or broken camera.

I replaced my LG G2 Ear Speaker, and it still will not work!

  1. As this is a soldered part, start with removing the ear speaker, clip off a small part of the wire on the speaker, and reattempt the repair. The wires on the ear speaker must contact the terminals on your G2 motherboard. If too much solder bond (usually copper) gets between the connections, your part will not work.
  2. If after reattempting the repair your ear speaker still will not work, you may have overheated either your new speaker or your motherboard connectors. If this is the case, you will not be able to get any new ear speaker to work.

I replaced my LG G2 Front Camera, now it will not work!

  1. If your pictures look distorted while viewing on your device, but after downloading them to your computer they are clear, your screen has gone bad not the camera. Replacing your entire screen will solve this problem. If…
  2. Your camera is only picking up a partial image, your camera may simply be off center or miss aligned in your device. Reattempt the repair from the beginning, and make certain your camera is aligned, and free of any debris.
  3. If this does not resolve the problem you may have a defective or broken camera.

I replaced my LG G2 Power Plus Volume Flex Cable, now it will not work!

  1. If neither feature will work after repair, reattempt the repair from the beginning. This G2 flex cable has an exceptionally small plug. In addition, the shields over this part require you to plug in the flex, while you are unable to see it very well. If the plug is off center (not seated), then neither part will work.
  2. While reattempting the repair, double check all other flex cables to make certain everything is plugged in correctly. The G2 has one central flex that controls every other function on your device. If this flex is not plugged in correctly, you will experience multiple problems such as no sound, no charging/data, and no volume.
  3. Double check the contact pads that go under the external cosmetic power and volume buttons. If there is a gap between the exterior buttons, and the internal flex, pressing on the outside buttons will result in the buttons not touching the actual flex cable. If there is a gap, there are several ways to close it. You can try opening your device, and check for any residual glass or debris after your original repair. Also, you can place some kind of buffer between the external and internal buttons. A small piece of foam or similar (non-conductive) material should work.
  4. If after this troubleshooting, your new button still will not work you may have a defective or broken part.

I replaced my LG G2 SIM Card Tray, now it will not work!

  1. Your SIM Card may have worn out, or become demagnetized. Contact your service provider, and get a new SIM Card to see if this will fix the problem. you should not need to change phone numbers to get a new SIM card. If this does not help…
  2. Your SIM card reader may be damaged. This part is attached to your motherboard on the iPhone 5. If this part is not working, then it is highly unlikely it can be repaired. Your best solution will be to get a new device.
  3. If your SIM card tray simply will not fit you may have a defective SIM card tray.

I replaced my LG G2 Touch Screen Digitizer, now it will not work!

  1. If you have no response at all when you touch your top glass, then you may have a loose connection. Redo your repair from the beginning. Make certain all your cables are fully plugged in. In addition, check your cables for any signs of crimps or tears that may have happened during your install. Crimps and rips will render a part defective. If…
  2. Only a certain grid of icons will not work such as the top third, or left side, you may have a cable that is miss aligned. Open your device, and make certain all the connectors on the flex cable match up. If this plug is off center, you will see problems such as this called “blocking”.
  3. If after both steps your digitizer still does not work then you may have a defective or broken digitizer.

I replaced my LG G2 Touch Screen Digitizer Plus LCD Display now it will not work!

  1. If your digitizer will not respond to touch at all, but your LCD has a picture, reattempt the repair. Make certain your cable was not crimped (folded too much). Crimping causes micro fractures in the thin metal inside a flex cable. Once this metal is cracked, power and other impulses cannot flow through the device.
  2. If only a select grid of icons will not work on your touchscreen such as the top third, or left side, you may have a cable that is misaligned. Open your device, and if your digitizer plug is off center, you will see problems such as this called “blocking”. Blocking can also happen if either your digitizer cable, or your motherboard plug have missing or bent pins. These pins will need to be put back in place before your device will work again.
  3. If you have an all white or all black display, start by performing a soft reset on your device. Blank and white screens are usually a sign of the internal software not wanting accept the new parts. A soft reset will clear your device of any temporary data that is blocking your new part from working. If you see…
  4. Blotches on your display, this is a sign of too much pressure on the screen caused in shipping or during installation. Open your device again, and make certain there is no residual glass from your original broken screen. After clearing your screen, disable your phones “Sleep mode”, and leave your device on a charger for 24 hours. The heat from a constant charge, and the rest of your LCD working can cause the crystals inside your device to move back into place.
  5. If you see lines down your display, or you have only a partially working touch function, then you may have a defective or broken screen.

  1. My LG G2 touchscreen quits working sometimes when the phone is plugged in and charging.

    1. Thanks Sydney,

Most devices have a "lock out" feature when your device is on a charger. On most phones, you cannot do anything on a device while it is plugged in. Manufacturers also suggest not using your device while on a charger has you run a high risk of electrocuting yourself should your cable or charge port be faulty.

As long as your touchscreen works normally when your G2 is not plugged in, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If your touchscreen begins to act up when it is off the charger, then you may need to look into replacing the part.

      1. My L G2 began flipping from screen to screen, typing randomly, in and out of apps, all over the place. I could barely type my own commands like Somebody else is in control of it, Right now I'm fighting to type this message. I've had ATT back up and rest my phone but it didn't work.

        1. Hi Sue
The only thing I know of to fix this is to replace the screen. We offer this repair at PHNEDOCTORS.com under mail in repair.

          1. is this a known issue with the LG G2? I went from having a perfect phone for 18 months to random scrolling, opening, etc. today. I've hard reset and the same intermittent spazzing.

          2. Hi David
This is a a sign of a bad digitizer. It is not common unless a device has been liquid damaged or just has a bad part.

    2. hi Sydney try another charger with fixed wire like not with USB data cable

    3. I am using LG G2 F320L(Korean) mobile. I am getting an error "Cannot connect to the camera" every time while I am trying to open camera. I have Rebooted my phone, performed hard reset and also flashed the rom. even after all these things I am getting same error again. can you please what could be the issue here.

      1. Hello Vali,

Sorry to hear about that LG phone issue you are having. From the problem you are describing it sounds be that your device is experiencing hardware failure. Given that you have flashed the ROM and you have done several resets, this point to the part or component physically failing. To remedy this issue I recommend that you try to replace the camera of the device. If the issue was not fixed by this to restore functionality it is recommend to replace the unit.

        Hope it helps
        Robin B.

    4. Hello phone doctor I am Desmond from Ghana I have a LG g2. AT&Tsymbol is stuck on the screen and don't boot. I have some important documents on the phone how can it be fix.

  2. My LG G2 was completely dead when I woke up, and tried to use it yesterday. The LED won't turn on when charging, and I have tried all the hard and soft reset methods using the button combinations. My PC won't recognize phone, and I cant get into download mode either. I have replaced the battery myself, and the problem is still the same. Also, when charging, the top left part of the flex cable next to the button gets really hot. When I put my ear really close to this part, I can hear tiny squeaky noise. I have also noticed the squeaky noise changes when I remove the battery connector from the motherboard. Does this mean my motherboard is dead because everything else seems to be fine. Is there any hope for this phone?
    Thanks

    1. Thanks Bipin,
The noise is coming from the battery. It is certainly faulty. The sound comes from the ions migrating from the Lithium Ion post to the pure Lithium post, and the noise comes when there is not enough fluid in between the metals to regulate the chemical process. Take out the battery and trash it. Any further use could result in your battery exploding.

Based on your description, it sounds like the excessive heating has fried your device. The solder points and metal compounds have reheated, and moved out of place. If you want to mail in your device, our technicians can perform a solder re-flow. This can sometimes get a device working again, but this is normally a short term solution. Solder re-flows usually have to be performed several times over the life of the device.

If you have important information you need to recover from your device, then the re-flow will be worth trying. Either way, it's best to look into getting a new device.

  3. I flashed to recovery on my LG G2, and afterwards, a bunch of white and weird lines appear on the screen. I turned off the phone, turned it back on, and after a reboot, in the right side of the screen, I have the same lines. I restored my device back to factory settings multiple times, but the lines are still there. I don't know if they are dead pixels or what. Is there something I can do? Thanks in advance.

    1. Thanks Pedro,

If you have lines down your LCD display, then your screen needs to be replaced. Lines appear after an LCD has been damaged. If you have insurance on your device, this is usually a cheaper method to get your phone fixed. If you don't have insurance, you can purchase a DIY kit on our site here, or mail in your device for a technician to repair at:
      www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  4. I replaced my LG G2 screen and digitizer a number of weeks ago. Today, the phone was working fine, and then just turned off. When I turn it back on, it makes all the right noises and responds to touch, but the screen is black/blank. Any ideas?

    1. Thanks Theo,

Since you just replaced the LCD display screen on your device, and it was working normally, it is unlikely that you have a bad screen.

How was your device damaged? If your device was dropped in water, or had some other liquid exposure, you are looking at failing internal circuitry that needs to be cleaned by a technician.

The LCD on an LG G2 sits right above the battery. Check to see if your battery is going bad, overheating specifically. Excessive heat from batteries can fry the LCD crystals. Normally, this will not kill an entire screen, but will cause "features" that look like ink blots.

If you want to try troubleshooting this device on your own, you can open your device again, and check to see if the LCD cable may simply have come loose. A loose connection would certainly cause your LCD to cut out. As your device was working fine, this is unlikely.

We suggest mailing your device in for diagnostic testing by our technicians. You can find all the information needed to send in your device at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  5. I had a water all over my G2 and after that it cannot connect properly to Wifi.
It finds the routers but it fails to connect.
The 3G and everything else works just fine.

    1. Thanks David,

Since your device has been touched by liquid, your internal circuitry has started to break down. Liquid damage is corrosive to a phone, and will kill it over time. How much time can vary depending on the duration of liquid exposure, and level of electricity that flows through your device. Best thing to do, shut your device down, and don't use it until it is cleaned.

You need to get your device in to some one who can do liquid damage cleaning before the problems get worse, and you loose your device all together. Should your WiFi need to be replaced, a technician here will contact you about pricing before completing any additional repairs.

You can mail in your device to us at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  6. My LG G2 has faded horizontal lines running across it, almost covering the whole phone. It makes some areas lighter in color than the rest. Do I need to replace the LCD screen?

    1. Thanks Will,

Yes, if you see lines down any LCD screen, this is due to some type of external damage. You will need to replace your LCD screen before your device will work correctly again.

  7. Replaced screen, now seems proximity sensor is not working in "knock" feature, and when call screen blacks out. Also, there is network SIM error in call settings; the phone goes straight to voice mail, and when I call out, it blacks out, doesn't work, then turns on at the lock screen, and finally, an exclamation shows up saying restricted access changed: data blocked. I can still text and use internet when have service, but it does drop out easily.

    1. Thanks Jake,

You have several major errors inside your device that are related to multiple components. Reattempt the repair, as it sounds like nothing was plug in correctly inside the device. The LG G2 has one main flex cable inside the unit. This unit controls every major function you described of the LG G2. This points to a couple of possibilities:
1.) The components that are plugged into this cable either came unplugged during repair, or were not plugged in correctly. Reattempting the repair should reveal if this is a possibility.
2.) The main flex was damaged during the drop or installation. If after redoing the repair, your device is still having the same issues, you will need to replace the main interior flex cable of the LG G2.
3.) Was your device touched by liquid? Liquid damage normally reveals itself by having multiple problems show up like you described. If your device was touched by liquid, you will need to get it cleaned before you complete any other repairs as your internal circuitry has started to oxidize.

As an alternative, you can mail in your device, and let our technicians run a full diagnostics on your G2. This will allow us to figure out the precise problem, without needing to replace part after part. If you would like to send in your device for repair, simply fill out the form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  8. Do you need to fix both digitizer and lcd, if it's just your digitizer that is broken?

    1. Thanks Seeya,

The good news is that you can replace the top glass only (the digitizer) on an LG G2, so parts for this repair will be less then if you needed to replace both your LCD and Digi.

The bad news is that the LG G2 digitizer replacement is a very lengthy and involved. We strongly suggest sending your device to a technician for repair. If you are near one of our locations, just bring your device by one of our locations, or you can mail it to us at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  9. I have a Lg G2. I was having a problem with trying to pull down my drop down notification bar from the top. I turned my phone off and on. When back on, there was a screen that said lcd hardware damaged and to use volume keys to answer phone calls. I'm confused as to what happened. Any ideas?

    1. Thanks Confused,

This is most likely a software error. Try restoring the phone to factory defaults to see if this will fix the problem. If you get the same message after a restore, then you are looking at replacing your digitizer. We do have the digitizers available right here online, or you can mail your device to one of our technicians for repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  10. Last night, my LG G2 didn't charge with the cord. I have a Mophie backup external battery, and when I plug that in, the phone won't charge. The computer will not recognize the phone either. I have a cordless charger that will charge the phone. I really want to be able to use a cord with it. I had an HTC Thunderbolt that had the same port and it went bad. If this has happened to my LG, can it be fixed? Something I can do? I do some computer repair and PSP repair so I have tools.

    1. Thanks Todd,

Have you tried a different cable, or have you tried charging your phone without the Mophie case on?

If you have tried both of these things, then you will need to replace the main charge port on your LG G2. The only difficulty here is the charge port is connected to the main internal flex cable that controls every function of your device. In addition, there are multiple revisions of this main flex cable depending on your model number for the LG G2.

For this reason, we do not advise anyone attempt this repair unless you are 100 percent confident in your skills as a mobile phone technician. It is a highly technical and risky repair. You are welcome to bring your device to any of our locations, or mail in your phone for repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  11. Hi guys,

So I dropped my phone over the weekend and cracked it. Now only half of the screen is working. I took it into a local repair guy who comes highly recommended and has excellent reviews, rather than try the repair myself.

He tried replacing the entire screen component (LCD, digitizer, bezel) with two different replacements and there was white banding/lines down the screen both times. He thinks his replacement parts were defective and that the issue has nothing to do with the phone as there are no white lines with the stock cracked screen.

I'm rooted on cloudy stock ROM and am wondering if that has anything at all to do with those lines? He doesn't think so. For some reason I feel like I remember hearing about this issue on the occasional custom ROM.

He's getting more screens in tomorrow and will try again and let me know. Just wondering what you guys thought. Thanks.

    1. Thanks Matt,

The lines have nothing to do with your cloud ROM hack. More than likely, he is correct, and he just had a couple of bad screens in a row. This happens to every repair shop as parts are mass produced.

Now if this problem continues, it is possible your internal LCD circuit was damaged during the fall. Normally, this circuit comes off the board during the intial impact, but stays in place until the phone is opened. If you are seeing the same issue on a couple more screens, then your LCD terminal is damaged, and you won't be able to fix your phone.

  12. I've had my LG G2 since January with no issues.
Now all of a sudden, every time I plug my phone in to charge it or use the sound jack, the screen goes black. The screen also will randomly go black once every 2 days or so just sitting in my pocket. Once the screen does go black, the notification light will flash either red or blue when I touch the screen. I found the camera still works, music still plays and I can even launch apps. To get my phone back to where I can see the screen I have to do a soft reboot. Is there a fix for this? I'm hoping its just an App conflict or maybe I disabled something that I shouldn't have.
    Thanks.

    1. Thanks Scuba Steve,
If this problem is software related, back up all your important information, and then restore the device back to manufacturer default settings. Use your phone for a couple days without any apps, and see if the problem comes back. If it does, then you have a hardware related error, and you will need to replace your LCD screen.

If your device works normally after the hard reset, you can then reinstall your apps one by one. If there is an application conflict, you will know after you install an app, and it kills your display again.

  13. I have change the digitizer on my LG G2, but the bottom of the screen is responding to the touch. All the screen responds except the bottom keys. I have tried with another glass, but have the same problem.

    1. Thanks Ariel,

There are a couple possibilities here:
1.) There may be something keeping your LCD from coming into close enough proximity with your digitizer, so your device is not registering your touch. There could be anything keeping the parts apart: residual glass, from your broken screen, adhesive that is too thick, or your frame could be bent. If your housing/frame is bent this would cause only part of your screen to work.
2.) Your main flex cable may have been damaged during the same fall that broke your screen, or it could have been damaged during installation of your new part. The LG G2 is controlled by one big internal flex cable. If this cable has been damaged, this would explain why you had the same problem on 2 different parts. Replacing your main flex will fix this problem.
3.) Your LCD may be damaged. The touch is picked up your outer digitizer, but if the LCD is damaged, it will not be able to sync your finger presses to the correct part of the LCD. You may need to replace your complete top touch screen and lower LCD before your device will work again.

This troubleshooting will require you to get these three different parts, and swap them out until you discover what the problem is. We have most of the parts right here on PhoneDoctors.com, or you can mail your device in and let one of our technicians diagnose the problem for you.

If you mail in your phone, our technicians will charge an up front diagnostic fee, and then once they discover the problem, they will give you a price quote for the repair before they swap out any parts. If you would like to do this, simply fill out the form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  14. I just replaced the LCD/digitizer on my LG G2. When I turned it on, there are a bunch of vertical colored lines showing up with nothing else showing. Did I connect something wrong or is it a defective part?

    1. Thanks Kissesfrmthekids,

Sounds like a bad screen. When the damage happened is impossible to tell without seeing the device. Damage to an LCD can happen during shipping, it can happen at manufacture and the part wasn't tested, or it can happen during installation.

Reattempt the repair from the beginning, and check for any signs of physical damage on the part. If everything looks fine, finish the repair again, and see if you have the same lines. If so, then you most likely have a bad part.

  15. Hello. So, I recently dropped my LG G2 and then I ordered a new LCD and Digitizer. I replaced the screens as instructed. I was also extra cautious with the flex cables and such. However, when I plugged the charger into the phone, it wouldn't turn on. I left my G2 on the charger and went back about an hour later, but it still wouldn't turn on. Do you think I maybe did something wrong? I'm not quite sure what to do.

    1. Thanks Alex,

The LG G2 has one main internal flex cable that controls most of the functions of the device. Odds are, something simply came unplugged from the main flex cable, and that's why your device is not working. It is possible as well that you have a battery that is no longer taking a charge, or a charge port that is not allowing your device to charge, and you simply have a dead battery. This is a long shot.

Open your device, and reattempt the repair. Seal up your phone, and see if it works. If not, you can always mail in your device for diagnostic testing with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  16. Ok, my G2 fell out of my pocket and cracked. As a result, 1/3 of my screen wont work. It happens to be the very top of the screen, so when I go to my camera I no longer have the option to switch between front and back camera modes (or any of the other options). Somehow my camera has switched from back to front, and because that part of my screen doesn't work, I can't figure out how to switch it back. Is there any other way to switch the cameras?

    1. Thanks Phonemakinmemad,

Your best solution at this stage, is to replace your screen. The LG G2 can be replaced as two different parts: the top digitizer and lower LCD, so replacing the outer touch screen is relatively inexpensive. This will get your device working again.

Beyond this, there is not a known way to swap your cameras without your device fully functioning.

  17. Hi there,

I am on my 2nd LG G2; just started my service with Verizon. My phone has been fine until I noticed my lock screen is malfunctioning. If I set it to 'swipe' it doesn't work at all. If I set it to requiring a PIN it will 'swipe' to open. I tried factory reset and soft reset, but it's still not working right. I want a PIN, but for some reason when I set it to requiring a PIN, when I knock on the phone, it only allows me to swipe. What's the issue? I really don't want a 3rd one in 3 days...

    1. Thanks Britify,

Since you have all ready attempted the soft and factory reset to no avail, this is not simply a software glitch, but rather a "pure programming error". Sadly, you won't be able to fix this issue as it points to either a mistake on the mother board during creation (some type of short circuit), or a software download error during creation.

Take your device back to Verizon, and see what they can do about your device. Based on your run of bad luck with LG G2s, you may want to look at getting a different device all together.

  18. Hi,
I just got my LG G2 like 2 or 3 weeks ago, and I have noticed, ever since I got it, the speakers on the bottom weren't both making the same sound. One side of the speaker is low, and the other side is higher. I can tell because I plugged the higher side with my finger, and the other speaker is lower. I realized this after the first week I had gotten it. So, is this part of the phone, or is there a problem with it because, I don't know if I did something that messed it up.

    1. Thanks Luis,

Since your phone has been doing this since the day you got it, this is clearly an "out of the box" problem. Take your G2 back to where you got it, and let them know what is going on. They should be able to get you another G2 in exchange for yours.

If you got your G2 from some other source, contact LG directly, they should be able to help you out with getting a replacement. Either one of these options will be your best solution as G2 parts are hard to come by (and expensive) at this time.

  19. Hello!

I just replaced the whole screen and LCD/digitzer. Now, I have a couple of problems. First, the LG G2 started to black out when I tried to go to the main menu (slide to unlock) and it turned black.

Second problem is when people call me, I can accept the call, but then it also blacks out. Then, I have to reset the phone again to make it work.

    What could be wrong?

    1. Thanks Marius,

Sounds like you have some type of a "short circuit" problem going on. The lower part of the G2 has a bunch of metal, antennas, and the like on it. If any of these parts are touching where they shouldn't be, you will get problems like this. You could try opening your device, and see if all your contact points are correctly seated. In addition, your LCD plug is covered with electrical tape (or similar insulator adhesive) when the phone is created. If this tape is gone (normally removed during repair), then you will also have issues similar to what you are describing. You could go back in with some electrical tape, and recover those areas that need it.

As an alternative, you can also mail in your device, and let a technician complete some simple troubleshooting for you. If you would like a technician to finish your device, simply fill out the short form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  20. I washed my LG phone, and let it dry as soon as I realized I had washed it. The battery has a light pink strip as well as a light pink strip behind the battery in the phone. Is this fixable with a new battery?

    1. Thanks Summer,

You need to send your device in for a liquid damage cleaning. Once liquid (any liquid) comes into contact with a phone, the internal circuits start to break down. Phones are made out of silicon, which at it's hear, is made of dirt.

A new battery will get your device working for now, but without a thorough cleaning, it will soon be rendered useless later. You can mail your device to us for a liquid damage cleaning at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail. 8 out of 10 times, your device will work again after the cleaning without any parts needing to be replaced.

  21. I have a LG G2, and have had it for about 6 months. All of a sudden about a week ago, my phone just started rebooting for no reason. It would freeze while I was doing something on it, and doing a constant reboot on just the LG screen; sometimes only once, sometimes it will keep going for 20 minutes. It gets very hot if it keeps it up for a long amount of time. I finally did a hard reset on my phone, and completely swiped it; it still continued to do it. I didn't add any apps to it for a good day or two. It seems to be getting worse now though. I will be doing something, and then all of a sudden, it will freeze up, go black, and start the restart for how ever long it wants to. It's driving me insane. I am not sure what is going on; it worked fine for so long. I thought for sure clearing everything on it would help it, but it didn't.

    1. Thanks Jessica S,

Since your battery is getting hot, you may be looking at a battery that needs replacement. Your battery should not be getting hot for any reason, and the fact that it is, points to a power related problem. This could explain why your phone is randomly rebooting as well. Defective batteries can cause all sorts of power issues. The boot loop can happen due to software failure, but it can also happen if a battery lacks the power to fully launch your devices operating system.

Start with replacing the battery, and see if that fixes the problem. If not, you may have an internal software failure. As you have all ready tried a factory reset, you might not be able to restore your device should the software have failed. Contact LG if the new battery does not work.

  22. I replaced an LCD/digitizer assembly in a friend's LG G2 recently.

Had to disassemble and reassemble one more time after that because, I got a piece of adhesive strip across the front camera. Since that reassembly, the external audio on the phone stopped working. No notifications, media, ringtones... just silence. The earpiece audio works fine for phone calls. Not sure I have tested the headphone jack. It worked OK after the first reassembly. Are there specific connectors to check that impact this? I thought I had reseated every connector in an attempt to resolve this, but perhaps not. I haven't reset the phone as I am not sure it's a prudent step yet.

Unfortunately the phone was dropped yet again, so I need to replace the display once more. Any advice on what to check for the audio issue would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Thanks Craig Smith,

Since you have to replace the screen again, your best solution here will be to call one of our technicians as there are multiple things that can cause parts to act in various ways on the LG G2. Our technicians are available Monday thru Friday at 1.855.234.9483.

When you have the device apart, our techs will be able to walk you through several troubleshooting steps during your G2 repair. This will be your best solution to getting your device fixed.

  23. So yesterday, while on the road, my phone died simply because of battery use, so that's nothing new. However, when I got back home and plugged it in, it turned on fine, but I noticed that when I received a text message, the preview would show up on the notification bar and in the messages home page; when I went to actually respond to the message, it wasn't there. I replied to messages based on what I could see on the notification bar, they were received by the other person, but they simply would not show up. I restarted my phone, closed all open applications, let it die of battery use again and recharge, but nothing has worked. Any thoughts?

    1. Thanks Vanessa Salazar,

It sounds like your messages are being redirected to a downloaded app. Check all your apps, and see if they are in one of them. If not, your best solution will be to backup all your data on a computer or SD card, and then perform a restore to factory default settings. After the restore, do not download your apps. Let your phone run normally for a day, and see if the issue is resolved. If it is, reinstall your apps one by one. If this issue happens again, you will know which app did this to your phone. If it's gone, and doesn't come back, then you may have a software related bug, and the problem should be fixed.

  24. Hey,
My LG G2, all of yesterday, was spazzing out, and acting demon possessed. When I tried, to open up Facebook messenger, it would close it and start spazzing out. Sometimes, messenger wouldn't respond at all before doing it. This has never happened before. I tried resetting messenger several times to no avail. I even tried shutting it off for 30 minutes. Could this be an LCD digitizer malfunction? I also kept getting a message that said the LCD was damaged.

    1. Thanks C-Bass,

That's quite a description for your phone's woes.

Yes, it sounds like your LCD may be damaged (this is mostly due to the message that you are receiving). However, if only the Facebook app is causing your device to "spazz out", then it sounds more likely to be an internal software error.

Start with restoring your device to factory default settings (back up your data first), and then try using your device normally. If everything works fine, try installing just the Facebook app, and see if your device becomes "possessed" again. If so, then there is an error with the app download, and you may need to do some type of software update (or get a new phone all together) before the app will work normally.

If your device works normally, with no unusual activity, your original app download may simply have not installed correctly. You should be fine. If all the problems persist, then indeed you either have a bad phone (which is possible, go see the place you got it from about a warranty replacement), or your LCD screen is going bad, and you should see about getting your screen replaced.

We have screens available right here online, or you can mail in your device for repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  25. Hi. I went to bed, and my phone was about to die. So, I plugged it in, and usually, it would light up saying it's charging; it didn't. Then, I hear a low ringing noise in my charger part where you would plug into the wall. So, I had to grab my brothers charger, and it's works in the same outlet I used for the other one. Would my charger be broken?

    1. Thanks Hannah,

Based on your description, it sounds like your charger may simply have gone bad. A new one should fix the problem.

If your phone was acting odd (in regards to the charging) while using both your and a different charger, then you would be looking at an internal problem with the phone.

  26. Okay, long story short, I dropped my phone on concrete. Now, the image shows up perfectly, but its shattered at the bottom; the bottom half of the screen won't work when I touch it. Now, I don't have $70.00 spare to fix it, so is there anything I can do without having to pay a butt load of cash?

    1. Thanks Alex,

Not on the G2 sadly. Your lucky however. Most devices cannot have their parts swapped out individually, so most devices can only be repaired for several hundred dollars. The G2 also does not have a stylus section, so you won't be able to just grab up a pen, and "make do". The only way to get your touch function back up and running will be to replace your digitizer with a new one.

  27. My LG G2 LCD started with proper colors; within seconds, it went to bad colors, but all functions worked. I replaced the display assembly, but I am having the same issue. Any Ideas on what to check next?

    1. Thanks Minisuper,

There are a couple ideas here:
1.) Reattempt the repair as something may simply not be fully plugged after your screen replacement.
2.) If the problem persists after re-repair, your main flex cable may be damaged, and not your LCD screen. You can replace the main flex on the G2, but you must make certain you get the same flex for your model number AND the same revision.
3.) Check your device for liquid damage. As the problem existed both before and after repair, you may be looking at internal circuitry break down. This is usually caused by some type of liquid exposure to your device. A thorough cleaning might yield results.

As an alternative, you can bypass doing all this troubleshooting on your own by simply sending your device to one of our technicians. If the problem is something simple (cleaning, or loose connection), as long as a part does not need replacement, the fee would only be for our technicians labor on your device. If a part does need replacement, our technicians will call with an estimate prior to repairing your device.

If you would like to send your device to one of our technicians, simply fill out the short form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  28. I recently rooted my G2 using towel root, and I downloaded Autorec so I can flash custom ROMs. After flashing, if I ever turn off my screen or let it fall asleep; when I try to turn it back on, it just displays these white lines everywhere. The screen is gone; it won't let me see anything. I went back into stock [restore to factory defaults] (but still rooted) and they are still there. It's not just a ROM bug. The only way to get back to being able to access my phone is to force restart it by holding the power button down for 10 seconds. It reboots and loads into the lock screen, then home screen fine, but then after turning off the screen, the white lines come back and the screen is gone again.

    1. Thanks Noah,

There are a couple of possibilities here:
1.) Your LCD may be damaged. Lines normally point to problems in the display layer of your screen, and usually replacing the screen will solve the problem.
2.) Rooting your device has caused your display software to change, and now your internal components are not syncing with each other.

You can rule out the software bit by restoring your device back to factory default settings (do NOT keep the root). If you still have the display errors after a full restore, then it is certainly a case of your LCD screen needing replacement.

Rooting a phone changes the core software of the device. This normally results in undesired problems which is why all phone manufacturers don't advise this. In fact, once a device has been rooted, it actually voids any sort of warranty that your device had on it. So at this stage, if the full restore and LCD replacement still do not solve the problem (which one of them should), you will need to look into getting a new phone all together.

  29. My LG G2 has fallen down, and cracked in the bottom portion of the screen (cross line, 1/4 of screen). On that small portion, touch is working, but the rest it's not working. It's only 3 months old, so can I get a warranty replacement on this? If not, how much will it be to reapair?

    1. Thanks Kanish Kumar,

Your G2 needs a new digitizer, so long as you are not having any additional problems with your display screen as well.

Warranty replacement will depend on what sort of coverage you got on your device. If you phone came from a service provider, there will be some kind of replacement fee if you have insurance on your device. If there is no fee, you can still get another phone, the cost will just be higher. The same is true if you contact LG directly.

We sell do it yourself repair kits on our website for just the digitizer, so you can repair your device on your own. You can also mail in your device for one of our technicians to repair as well. If you would like us to complete the repair, simply fill out the short form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  30. I have dropped my G2 on a hard surface, and the phone won't power on or charge. The phone, very rarely, sometimes does turn on, but it either stops, or won't finish booting. Most of the time, the phone is a brick. It doesn't turn on no matter what I do. The phone's LED doesn't come on when connected to the charger, so I assume it doesn't charge. My thoughts are that somewhere in the phone, there is a contact problem, so the phone doesn't turn on. The LCD is fine, since the phone does sometimes turn on.

    1. Thanks Brian,

As your LCD seems to be fine (based on your description of the phone sometimes working), you could be looking at some type of software related failure. As your device will not fully boot up most the time, this is usually related to a software glitch. As this issue happened after your device was dropped, it is unlikely this is a pure software error, but it is acting like it is software.

Start with backing up your data, and restoring your device back to factory default settings (instructions can be found in the blog above). If this fixes the problem, you should be set, if not (which is likely), you are looking at another problem.

As your device will work normally at times, you are most likely looking at loose internal circuitry. If this is the case, opening your device for repair will only kill your phone all together. The LG G2 does have one main central flex cable that controls the main functionality of your device. Replacing this cable may fix the problem. However, it is also possible that the damage was to your motherboard (based on your description).

If the reset does not work, you can attempt (or we can do the repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail) the repair on your device. It is doubtful the repair will fix the problem. Your best solution will be to look into getting a new device all together.

  31. I dropped my phone in ocean water for a few seconds, and I cleaned everything up but now the screen back light won't go on. Do you think it can be the main flex cable.

    1. Thanks Topp,

No, it is not the main flex, it's the ocean.

Ocean water is the worst form of liquid damage as the salt causes rapid breakdown of your device's internal circuits. You need to have your device serviced through a "Liquid Damage Cleaning" process. This cleaning will stop the break down of your circuits, and 8 out of 10 times, your device will start working again without any parts needing replacement.

Now, if a part needs replacement after the cleaning, it's most likely your LCD screen, and not the main flex. The back light is controlled by the LCD. If you do not have your device cleaned, all the internal parts will breakdown over time until either you replace every hardware component on the phone is replaced, or your motherboard fails; rendering the device useless.

If you would like a technician to complete the process for you, simply fill out the short form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail. If parts do need replacement, we will contact you with pricing prior to completing any repairs.

  32. My brother dropped my phone on the floor, and the screen is foggy. I can still see and typing works fine. Its just foggy. How can I fix that?

    1. Thanks Carolina Ortiz,

      There are several possibilities:
1.) Your LCD back screen cover came loose, and now some of the light you normally see is bleeding into your device. You would have to replace your entire LCD screen in order to fix this problem.
2.) One of the circuits on your main flex cable (inside the device) has come loose. If this is the case, you would have to replace your device's main flex cable in order to have a clear picture again.
3.) Your LCD plug has come slightly loose, and your picture is no longer sending a full strength signal. You could fix this by opening your device, and simply plugging your cable back in.

As an alternative, you can always mail your device in to one of our technicians for repair. If you would like to do this, simply fill out the short form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  33. This problem is kind of weird as put by the community in XDA and Android authority:

    1. I switch my phone from sleep, and start using. Seconds later, the change in hue colors appear: purple on black background (horizontal), and vertical white line over white background.
2 . I put my phone to sleep for seconds, then wake it up to use. The colors are normal, just like what it's suppose to be. After I use for a minute or so, the washed out color behavior appears again.
3 . I repeat the same step, the colors are normal and then again not normal.

I have not dropped the phone, and everyone has agreed on the community that it is not LCD or digitizer, since the colors return to normal and the touch screen is also working. The phone is usable for a couple of minutes, until the washout colors appear and become annoying, that requires me to press the power button (or double knock) to make it sleep, and then wake it and keep using it until it happens again. What could be the culprit?

    1. Thanks Chemotkbilo,

It sounds like liquid damage. Even if you have not spilled anything on a device, liquid damage can still be the problem if you carry your phone in an armband while working out, a pocket while moving around, or a bag or backpack while traveling. All of these places can cause condensation build up inside your device, and that will cause your internal circuits to breakdown. Start by running your device through a liquid damage cleaning (high intensity cleaning process using pure grade alcohol); our technicians can do this if needed.

If the cleaning does not fix the problem, you may need to replace your main flex cable on the G2. The main flex controls most of the internal features on your device, and it is possible that this cable has sustained some type of damage. This would explain the LCD discoloration as the main flex is no longer able to distribute power correctly. Our technicians can complete this repair as well.

Don't rule out the LCD. While this may not seem like an LCD issue, if the cleaning and main flex replacement don't work, you will then want to swap out your LCD. The G2 has an "auto detect" feature inside that is meant to tel you when a specific hardware component is failing. It could be, this sensor is not detecting the LCD problem as it is a slow process. If your LCD layer is damage (which sounds like the case), the crystals will begin to split apart as your LCD heats up. This is why the problem comes and goes. Granted, this is not as likely as the other 2 options, but if the other 2 solutions don't fix the problem, then next step will be to swap out your LCD screen.

Our technicians can complete all of these items, and run an additional diagnostic test on your device if you would like as well. If you would like us to handle the repair, simply fill out the short form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail to send in your device.

  34. Replaced LCD/digitizer. The phone will not turn on. Tried hard reset. The power/volume controls get warm when plugged in but nothing comes on. It was working fine before repairs.

    1. Thanks Chevy,

If anything is getting hotter then normal, you either have a bad connection inside your device, or the battery is failing. If a battery is not working correctly, it can cause numerous issues such as no display, no power, and overheating. Try a new battery, and you should be good to go.

The second option, your main flex cable (the "U" shaped one that everything plugs into) is either not fully plugged in correctly (could explain the phone not turning on), or was damaged by the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. Open your device, and double check your initial repair to make certain everything was fully plugged in, screwed in, set down, and so-on. If everything checks out, and your device shows no change at all, then you will need to replace the main flex inside your device.

Our techs can take care of everything for you as well (just in case you would like to opt for a technician). Just fill out the short form at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail to send your device to us for repair.

  35. The YouTube link above explains my problem. I did not drop the phone, and I did not spill anything. Today, I realized the adhesive behind the screen was loose; almost all around the screen. What could be the problem, the layers behind the screen, or flex cables?

    1. Thanks Sarkamato,

Neither. With your screen displaying like this, there are one of 2 options:
1.) Your LCD flex cable has come partially unplugged. This easily explains why only half of your LCD is displaying correctly. Open your device, and check that all your cables are fully plugged in.

2.) Your LCD is damaged or defective. If all your cables are in place, and the problem is not going away, you will need to replace your LCD screen completely.

Damage does not just come from drops and spills. Excessive pressure from any of the following sources can cause this type of problem: carrying your phone in a pocket while sitting down, carrying a phone in a bag, purse, or backpack that has other contents inside, or cases that fit too tight.

  36. When I use the messaging app, it cuts together two completely different texts (most often an old text I received from the same sender with the one newly sent to me).

    1. Thanks CJ,

This sounds like a software problem. There are 2 things you can try:
1.) Simply uninstall the app, clear your temporary cache memory (instruction above), and then reinstall the app. If the problem persists after this...
2.) Try backing up your data to a computer, and then perform a restore to factory default settings. Then see if the issue is still there.

If the problem is still there after these 2 steps, contact your service provider as something might be going wrong on there end.

  37. My Lg G2 takes forever to pick up mobile signal. If I move from an area with no signal to one where I know there is a good signal, it's stuck saying "no signal" forever. Then all of a sudden, there is 4 bars! Is there anything I can do to speed up its recognition of signal?

    1. Thanks MarkC,

This problem could be an error in your device sending a signal to your network, but it could also be an error in your provider acknowledging your phone.

Go to your service provider, and get a new SIM card (this should be free). Overtime, SIM cards wear down, and this sort of problem happens. If this does not fix the problem, then ask your service provider to reset the connection from them to your phone.

  38. I have an issue with my g2. It first started yesterday.

I noticed that when I swiped down on the notifications bar it wouldn't move down like it normally did. I'd either have to swipe really short and fast or swipe slow and drag it all the way down. I heard that it could be an issue with my touch control.

I also heard that if I opened quick memo and drew a straight line I would see where the touch control didn't work. I did so and found out that there was a half inch line about an inch down from the top that I couldn't draw in.

What do I do? I've tried both hard and soft resets, but the problem still persists. And I have not received any error messages. What could it be?

    1. Thanks Laurence,

You have a dead spot in your digitizer. The good news, digitizers can be replaced by themselves on the LG G2, so the repair is less expensive then replacing the LCD and digitizer together. Once you replace your existing digitizer for a new one, you should be good to go.

  39. After six months of usage without any issues, suddenly my phone`s screen started flickering. I managed to change the display panel, and the flickering was gone. Then I noticed that the phone`s brightness wont go above 35-38%. I mean, the slider moves all the way to 100%, but the brightness won't increase. After couple of days, the flickering came back again. The lower portion of the screen was completely filled with noise, and gradually it spread throughout the screen. I can still use the phone, but can't see anything. Is it time to get the internal board replaced?

    1. Thanks Jihad Ansari,

There are 2 possibilities on your device:
1.) You may have just gotten a bad screen. Since your new display was not able to fully brighten, this is a strong possibility. A new screen should do the job.
2.) Your internal main flex cable may have been damaged. Since you had 2 screens respond in similar ways, it is highly likely that the underlying flex cable is the actual source of the problem. A new cable here could fix the issue.
3.) You may have a defective battery that has destroyed 2 different screens. It could be that your battery is overheating. This could also explain why 2 different screens starting acting in similar ways. Replacing your battery may solve the problem as well.

On a side note, if none of these options work, then you are looking at a bad motherboard most likely. These cannot be replaced, and you will just need to get a new phone.

  40. I cracked my LCD screen+digitizer, fixed it, but may have broken my ear speaker. I went back in to fix it, removed the antenna connections, and proceeded to disconnect the power supply from the logic board. I guess the tweezers completed a circuit because I saw sparks fly. Now the phone wont turn on at all; is all lost?

    1. Thanks David Salako,

You can try replacing the battery, however, odds are all is lost. Your tweezers did complete a circuit, and odds are, your device will not turn on again.

  41. I'm having a problem setting pics as a contact pic. It just says it's unable to save them. I hope this is a easy fix.

    1. Thanks Destinee,

This is most likely a software related problem. Backup your data, and then before a restore to factory defaults. Before adding any apps to your device, try adding your pics to the contacts again. If it works, then it was most likely an app that caused a setting to change and block this feature. If it still does not work, you may be looking at some sort of error on LG's part. You will want to take your device back to where you got it, and see if they can get you another device.

  42. I just got an LG G2 yesterday, and I'm trying to download music. My phone keeps saying that there is a database or IO problem, and won't download music. What is wrong, and how do I fix it?

    1. Thanks Tim,

Try doing other things network related (texts, phone calls, pics) and see if you get the same error. If you do, then there is a connection error between your device and your network. If you are using WiFi, then you are looking at a WiFi issue on your device.

If the problem is only with music, then you may be looking at a software error. Try restoring your device back to factory default settings (instructions can be found above). This should fix the problem.

If the problems persist after either or both steps, take it back to where you got it, and get another one. No sense in trying to replace parts on a device that is clearly covered under a warranty.

  43. My knock, knock is not working with my phone. It works when the screen is on and I want to turn it off, but when I double tap the black screen to turn it on, there's no response.

    1. Thanks Hailey,

The double tap feature is built into the digitizer on the LG G2. You can get this working again by replacing your digitizer, but your taking about a fairly expensive repair.

There is not another way to get this feature to work again, so the cheapest option is just to roll without it.

  44. I recently got my LCD/Digitizer replaced. Since then, my speaker has been acting up occasionally. My phone will play music fine, but when I'm on the phone, people can't hear me unless I put them on speaker; it's still fuzzy then. Could this have been caused from a mistake in the reassembly of the phone? Also, can it be fixed?

    1. Thanks Hannah,

Your microphone just needs to be replaced. The mic is found on the charge port flex cable of your device. Since music sounds fine, but others can't hear you, it is clearly a problem with the mic and not the speaker.

We don't have this available on our site as the mic (and therefore the charge port) are very specific to each phone. Not unique, but specific. The only way to ensure you get the correct part will be to reopen your device, and check for the revision number on the charge port. This will ensure you get the correct part.

  45. I have an LG G2. I can send messages; they will deliver to the person, but I will not always receive text messages back. The next time I talk to that person, he sends me screenshots that he did reply, yet I never received anything. He is an iPhone user, and I read somewhere that could be the reason why. Still, is their anything I can do to resolve this problem?

    1. Thanks Seirra,

Because Android and iPhone are 2 different operating systems, they use 2 different applications for their messaging. You can bypass this by having both of your install some type of third party app. Snapchat, Skype, and other messaging apps will allow you to communicate with folks that have an iPhone. As it stands right now, you will just keep "not getting texts" as Apple and Google are not nice to each other, and therefore, their customers suffer.

  46. My LG G2 is overheating at the rear keys and top of the phone. I experienced it after the update. I already reset my phone, but still it's hot and it drained my battery quickly.

    1. Thanks Bon,

Since you all ready did a reset, then the issue is not software related. Software can cause overheating if too many applications are running at the same time.

The problem here is that your battery is going bad. The overheating is a clear sign of a defective battery. You can replace the battery on your own, or you can mail it in for a technician to repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

Once the battery is swapped out, you will be good to go.

  47. After updating my LG G2 with the latest update, the touch screen doesn't respond. I did a hard reset, and also downgraded to the previous ROM, but the same problem still exist. The device has not been dropped, or anything else to make it a hardware problem. It was working fine before the update. There is also a small lock symbol that appears on the quick window screen.

    1. Thanks Mohamed,

The update killed your device. Sadly, this can be a problem depending on the device's make and model. There have been numerous reports of this sort of problem on the LG G2.

Take your device back to your service provider, or contact LG directly to see about getting a replacement phone.

  48. I have a VS980 G2, and my GPS takes 5 minutes to get even a weak fix; then loses a signal every couple of minutes. Is there a fix for this that will make it fully functional?

    1. Thanks Kevin,

Start with restoring the device back to factory default settings. Once this is done, check to see if the GPS starts working normally. If it does, then the problem was software related, and you should be good to go.

If the problem persists after the restore, then the problem is inside the phone. Your GPS antenna is either malfunctioning, or it is damaged and needs replacement. If your phone is still covered under either the manufacturers warranty or insurance, then take your device in for repair/replacement.

If you don't have any type of coverage on your device, or it has been repaired previously, you can always send in your device fro repair with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  49. My LG G2 works completely fine. The only thing that's wrong is that whenever I slide my finger down the notification panel, it does not come down. I have looked through my settings to see if there's any way I could've possibly turned it off some how, but I found nothing. How can I get my notification panel to work again?

    1. Thanks Shannon,

Have you downloaded any apps or updates recently? If so, try backing up your data, then perform a restore to factory default settings. If the problem is gone when using your device like it was out of the box, then an app changed some type of setting in your phone. From this point, simply reinstall all your apps one by one to ensure the problem does not come back.

If the problem persists after the restore, then you likely have a digitizer (your touch screen) that is going bad. You will need to get the digitizer replaced before your device will work normally again.

  50. The notification status bar doesn't want to come down. When I go into camera and try to switch from back camera to front camera, it doesn't allow me to tap on the button or any of the other top camera buttons, but when I go into an app and turn it on it's side and pull the status bar down, it works; just not when the phone is vertical. Any thoughts?

    1. Thanks Alexa,

      Your digitizer is broken.

Anytime your touch screen fails to respond in certain areas, this is a clear sign of physical damage to the device. We sell do it yourself kits right here online, or you can mail in a device for our technicians to repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  51. My phone is suddenly running about 30 minutes slow. Any ideas why that might be?

    1. Thanks Denise,

Could just be a simple bug. Your device may have done some updates on it's own, this can easily make the device run slow.

Go into your settings and change the time back to normal. If the clock slows down again, you can try backing up your data to a computer, and then restore your device to factory default settings. This should fix any lingering issue with running slow.

  52. The device seems to be working properly in almost every function. The problem is that when I leave the cellphone charging at night and then pick it up in the morning, my home screen changes to default layout settings, going back to the factory defaults.
This only happens with the icons and shortcuts layout as it is the only thing that goes back to default. The background picture doesn't change and the apps are still there, but I can find them in the Applications menu only.
This is quite annoying as I have to re-arrange all the apps and shortcuts every day.

    1. Thanks Marcelo,

Your device has a software glitch in it, and LG G2s are riddle with bugs like this.

Backup your data to a computer, then restore your device to factory default settings. It is possible that you downloaded something that is causing your settings to change. After the backup and restore, use your device without downloading any apps, and see if the problem continues. If it's gone, you're set. If the problme comes back, then you have an internal software failure of the device. Contact LG or your carrier, and see what thy can do about getting you another G2 (or a different device all together as we suggest).

Also, make sure you download the latest updates from LG (a new patch came out a few days ago). This may fix this bug as you are not the only one who has reported this issue.

  53. I have a Sprint LG G2 white. My camera app dies/not work. There is only a black screen. Then the message "unfortunately, the camera has stopped" pops up. My phone was dropped, and I did have the screen and LCD screen replaced. Do I need to replace my cameras?

    1. Thanks Misty,

Sounds like the cameras were simply not fully plugged back in during the repair of your phone. Take your device back to whomever repaired it, and let them know what is going on. They should go back in and fix the problem; provided it is not a software error.

If you want to rule out software errors as the source for the problem, back up your data to a computer, then restore your device to factory default settings. If the problem goes away, then it was a software error that has been fixed. If the problem continues, then odds are the app is crashing because it is not able to acknowledge the camera.

If you did the repair on your own, then new front and back cameras should get you going again if plugging them back in does not yield any results.

  54. My LG G2 is working fine, but when I unlock the device. The problem is when I type wrong PIN or Pattern, there will be a sound that comes out. The sound is like the shutter sound. This problem does not occur when I use 'swipe' to unlock, but I happens when I use my PIN.

It is annoying because people think I am taking a picture of them, but it's only a wrong password; the sound is quite loud too. I always silent my phone, but it is still happening, and I also disabled all haptic feedback features. I don't see any setting to disable the lock screen sound. Is this normal for an LG G2?

    1. Thanks Zul,

Since you are not seeing a setting, it is possible that one of your other apps has caused this problem to happen. Remove your apps, reset your phone, and see if the problem continues. If it does, then you are looking at some type of software bug most likely. Check with LG, and make sure to download the latest patch updates for your phone. LG may all ready have a fix for this.

If there are no updates, then this sounds is probably a feature. There may not be a solution as it is not affecting the functionality of your device.

  55. My G2 lock screen won't turn on when I'm in the dark, but it does when I'm in light. What is going on?

    1. Thanks Teresa,

The problem is with your proximity sensor on your device. First, try restoring your device to factory default settings (information can be found in the blog above). If this does not fix the problem, then you have a hardware failure.

The proximity sensor can be replaced on your device, but it is an extensive repair. You can always mail in your device and let one of our technicians complete the repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  56. When I'm taking pictures and watching videos my phone is overheating. The knock on and the orientation are not working anymore.

    1. Thanks Bon,

Both the knock on and orientation features are controlled by microchips on the motherboard. If these 2 items are not working, then you should look into getting a new device. These 2 items cannot be fixed, and motherboards cannot be replaced.

Overheating is usually caused by defective batteries, but as you have 2 other problems that are motherboard related, it sounds like your phone was faulty from creation. Try contacting LG, they may have some type of warranty in place for the device as it is within the first year of it's launch.

  57. I have not dropped my phone or gotten it wet, but all of a sudden, my phone starts opening random apps. If I leave it on a table and walk away, it will start scrolling on its own to different screens, opening up the weather app most of the time. Once it finds it's way into my contacts list, it will open up random contacts and start calling people. I have restarted my phone several times, I have even installed the latest update that I put off originally for a month thinking it would fix the issue. I can't keep my phone on without worrying it will start making random phone calls, or logging into apps. I'll keep it off for hours and as soon as I turn it back on, I can't even use it because it keeps flipping between different screens faster than I can open an app, text, or call anyone myself. This has been going on for 2.5 days now. I'd rather get the phone fixed than have to get a replacement for it.

    1. Thanks Alisha,

Have you tried a full factory restore on your device? Based on your description, this actually fits several viruses that Android phones can acquire from bad websites and apps.

Back up your data to a computer, then restore your phone to factory default settings (information can be found in the blog above). After the restore, don't put any info back on your phone. If the problem is gone, then the virus is in your data. You will have to re-add your contacts one by one, then delete the backup on your computer to ensure the issue is gone.

If the full restore does not fix the problem, then you are looking at a manufacturing flaw on the device. Contact LG, and thy will get you a new phone; they created this problem from the beginning.

  58. Yesterday, I got an LG G2 and proceeded to flash the ROM. Everything was good with one exception. The screen after "waking up the phone", it had a faded white screen with lines in it every time. The touch function was working, I just couldn't see anything. I did a system restore to just revert back to factory. I still had the issue with the screen. I noticed there was a T-Mobile update for the phone and ran it. After doing so, my phone is now stuck in recovery. Doing a restore or reboot just relaunches recovery mode. At this point my phone hasn't even been synced to my phone number yet.

    1. Thanks Justin Cantrell,

The LG G2 is specifically made to reject ROM tampering. The internal circuits are specifically designed to blow out once any software changes are made. For this reason, LG G2s can only be gotten from a specific carriers store.

Try taking your device back to where you got it, and see if they can help you with getting another device. ROM flashing however, usually voids any sort of warranty that is on a device. Normally, carriers are designed to spot this, and will tell you to just purchase a new phone.

This is a straight up motherboard failure due to a ROM flash on the phone, and sadly, no parts can be replaced to make the device work again. Anyone that says ROM flashes, patching, or modifications can be done simply has gotten really lucky. Their warranty is still voided, so next time LG sends down a software patch, their phone will likely shut down just like yours did.

  59. I replaced my LCD and digitizer after a broken display; everything went fine. The display is working, but the touch screen doesn't respond! I can't even type my pin to go to the settings. Has anybody an idea what went wrong and how I can fix it?

    1. Thanks KingDom,

It sounds like your touchscreen may not have been fully plugged in, or it may have come loose during reassembly. The LG G2 has one main central flex cable, and if anything on this cable is not snug, then parts will act up after reassembly.

Open your device again, and start with double checking all the connections in your phone. When you seal up your phone, make sure none of the plugs come loose. This may fix the issue. If it does not, then you are most likely looking at a bad screen. Contact your source for the parts, and see if they have a warranty policy in place that will assist with getting a new screen.

  60. My LG G2 used to be great! I think after an update, the proximity sensor changed or something. Now, whenever I make a phone call, my phone turns on and my face presses buttons the whole time. It is awful!

I had to send in for a replacement phone because the tap on function stopped working. I thought the new phone would work and all would be well. However, it has the same face-button pressing issue! So, it is not the phone, but maybe a setting? Do you have a fix for this annoyance? Thank you!!!

    1. Thanks Jessica,

You are not the only one having this issue with their LG G2. The double tap feature and proximity sensors have been going out with the latest update. Sadly, your only solution here will be to contact LG (or your service provider) and see about getting another phone. If you get your device repaired by someone, this will void your warranty. The main concern here is that future software updates will cause similar problems on LG phones. Should this happen, a repair will fix your device now, but updates will most likely kill the device later.

If possible, contact your service provider, (or LG) and get a different phone all together.

  61. I just replaced the digitizer and LCD [on my LG G2]. When I powered on the phone, the notification light comes on, and I can feel the phone vibrate when I touch the bottom of the screen (on-screen buttons); however, the screen is blank. What can I do?

    1. Thanks William,

The LG G2 has one central flex cable that controls most of the functions of your device. Likely, something is loose on one of the connections on your phone. If anything is off on this part, odd things will happen to your device.

Go back in, and reattempt the repair from the beginning. Take extra care to ensure every cable is fully plugged in. Also, there should be no resistance when you put your device back together. If there is, the stop and double check everything. If this does not work, then your main flex cable was likely damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. You will need to replace the main flex before your device will work fully again.

  62. My LG G2 will not install any new apps. I press "install" once I've searched for the app I want, and it simply just says 'installing". In the app selection hut, there is nothing in the progress window. I've tried a soft reset and it did not work. Any advice would be great.

    1. Thanks Christina,

Restore your device back to factory default settings. If this fixes the problem, then your set. If it does not, contact your service provider, and make sure everything is good on their end. If the reset does not work, then something is up with your service.

In short, if your device does everything else fine except download apps, then you are looking at a software/network issue. Now, if your device wouldn't install apps, get texts, or connect to your network, then you would be looking at a breakdown inside your phone; your cellular antenna specifically.

  63. My phone was on vibrate and it vibrated off a chair onto the floor. It didn't hit very hard because I barely heard it hit and the room wasn't loud. I noticed that YouTube had no sound. I just thought it was the video, but I've noticed now that my phone doesn't ring or have any audible incoming. Everything else is working fine. I've tried turning it off, restarting it, and changing ringtones to one that came on the phone, and not one I downloaded. Nothing is working.

    1. Thanks Rachel,

Your main speaker either came loose inside the phone, or broke during the fall. Start with opening your device, and double check all the internal connections to make sure everything is plugged in.

If everything looks fine, then you have a damaged main speaker. Replacing this part should get you working again.

  64. I have just repaired my screen. I've put it all back together, and it won't turn on. I've plugged the charger in and the LG logo comes up, then goes again and repeats itself. I've checked all connections.

    1. Thanks Adam,

Your phone is stuck in a boot loop. This means one of 2 things:
1.) Something inside your device is not fully plugged in to allow the power to fully run through the device and boot your phone. Open your device, and double check every connection. Then reassemble and see if it fixes the problem.
2.) The event that caused your screen to need replacement also damaged the internal motherboard of your phone. If this is the case (if step 1 does not work) then it is highly unlikely that the device can be repaired at all.

We suggest sending in your device for diagnostic testing if option 1 yields no results. You can find a short form to mail in your device at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  65. My G2 screen is broken and I am expecting a replacement g2. However, I need to uninstall some of the apps from my cracked phone. Since the touch screen doesn't work, how can I remove an app using my Laptop? BTW, I need to remove a licensed app to be able to re-download onto the new phone.

    1. Thanks Amer,

If you can't use the touch function, then there is no way to remove an app from your phone from a different source.

The good news is, anything you purchased through the Android/Google Play store, is tied to your account. Once you setup your account on your new G2, you will be able to download it again for free.

  66. The digitizer and screen was replaced professionally, but the phone will not charge the battery. The phone acknowledges being plugged in but does not charge.

    1. Thanks Mike,

Since your phone knows when it is plugged in, it sounds like your battery may simply not be fully plugged in. Take your device back to whomever fixed it, and let them know what is going on. As this is a problem that they created, they should get you taken care of.

  67. So yesterday, I noticed that my "knock knock" feature wasn't working when the phone was off. However, when the phone is on, it works just fine. I was out in the rain taking pictures, but I was under a covering and only small droplets got on the phone and I wiped them off every few seconds. I don't have money to pay for something pricey.

    1. Thanks Robert,

The "knock knock" feature is controlled by the motherboard of the device. Since you were in the rain, it sounds like your phone picked up some moisture (colder rain temps + warm battery = internal condensation). You should have your phone run through what is called a liquid damage cleaning. Normally after a cleaning, most devices resume full operation without any parts needing replacement.

you can send your phone in for a technician to clean at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  68. My LG G2 was low on battery so I plugged it in. I heard it ding a couple of times (text messages) from the other room, but when I finally went to check on it, it's completely dead - holding the power button doesn't give me any reply from the phone. It still feels warm though - maybe from charging? What to do?! Is it completely dead? Should I just take it in to the store at which I purchased it? Thanks!

    1. Thanks Carly,

If you have insurance, or your device is under a warranty still, then yes, take your device back to where you got it, and get a new phone. This type of battery failure should not happen until after the first full year of using a phone (batteries degrade, so issues after a year are expected).

On a side note, it sounds like, when you plugged in your phone, the device did not acknowledge that it was plugged in. This would explain why your battery just died. Second option is that your battery was so dead that it would not accept a charge at all. Either way, this should not have happened with your device, and is clearly a sign of a manufacturers defect. Take it back for a new one.

  69. When I woke up a few weeks ago my LG G2's status/notification bar was suddenly "cut off" at the top (I can only see about half of the notification bar) ;I didn't change any settings as far as I know. When I perform a soft reset the screen is back to normal for a few minutes and then it "cuts off" again. I can't find any posts regarding this on the Internet. Does anyone else have a similar problem?

    1. Thanks Tanya,

As a soft reset fixed this problem for a while, it sounds like it is software related. Try restoring your device back to factory default settings, and see if this fixes the problem. If it does, then your set. Odds are, a setting has been changed by some sort of external source (android phones can get viruses just like computers).

If the reset does not fix your phone, then you are looking at a motherboard failure on the phone. Contact LG (or your service provider) and they should be able to get you into a new phone.

  70. I replaced the LCD screen and digitizer on my lg g2 and now I can't get any reception and sometimes I red x above the bars I first tried a soft reset and that didn't work so I did a factory reset and it still isn't working I check the antenna wires for damage and make sure connections were seated properly where do I go from here?

    1. Thanks Robert,

The LG G2 has one, central flex cable that controls almost everything on your device. If you can't get a signal, and all your antennas are intact and plugged in, then you need to replace this main flex cable. Odds are, this cable was damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. As LG does not use any sort of protectors inside the device, outer impacts can often cause interior damage to the phone.

  71. I have a picture of what my fiancee phone does: it's all just spots.

    1. Thanks Amanda,

If your device has spots on it, then you need to replace your screen (LCD & Digitizer specifically). Once your phone has a new screen on it, you should be good to go.

  72. I replaced the digitizer a few months ago, and now like I said there are red green blue yellow and all color spots all over the screen, does it really need replaced?

    1. Thanks Amanda,

Yes your screen does need to be replaced. As you replaced it before, it is possible that you have a defective screen. Contact your source for the parts, and see if they have a warranty that will cover your part.

Either way, you certainly need a new screen.

  73. I had dropped my phone and shattered the screen. The phone worked fine, minus the top half of the screen where it shattered. So I replaced the LCD/Digitizer, made sure to plug everything back in correctly or at least to the best of my knowledge it is all plugged in correctly. However, the screen stays all black. The LED notification light does change colors though. The power button seems to get a little hot too. Any ideas?

    1. Thanks Charlie,

There is a main flex cable that controls every function on your device. Normally, any excessive heat after a repair usually means that this main flex cable was damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. Power runs through this cable to every other portion of the phone. The overheating is a clear sign that power is not being distributed correctly, and therefore something is wrong with this flex.

If you can find a replacement, and would like to do the repair on your own, you certainly can. Replacing this flex does involve every function of your device, so we do have technicians that can compete this repair if you would like as well. If you would like a technician to fix your phone, simply fill out the short form to mail in your device at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  74. My Lg G2 turned off and turns on but says it charging even though the charger isn't connected . I press the power button and will not start its 6 months old

    1. Thanks Madahi,

If the device will not start at all + charging acknowledgement errors, you are most likely looking at a bad battery. A replacement should fix this issue.

It is possible that this is a hardware failure as well since the charging error happened before the device stopped booting. Once you try a new battery, if the device turns on, then reset your device to ensure it is not a software glitch. If the new battery does not fix the problem, then you will need a new phone.

  75. my lg g2 f320k was dropped in water for days ago (it was in water just for maximum 3 second), i dry it N clean it thoroughly, and when i turn it on LG logo comes on and then my g2 turned off, i plugged in charger and then i turn it on, This time its on (Battery level was on 50%)but it says "HOME SCREEN IS NOT RESPONDING" then i feel it is too hoooott (May B just in half minute) i turn it off.

    1. Thanks Hafiz,

You need to have your device run through a liquid damage cleaning. A good cleaning will normally allow your device to resume full operation without any parts needing replacement. If you don't get your device cleaned, the internal circuits will continue to breakdown until the whole phone is useless.

Should the cleaning show a part needs to be replaced afterward, our technicians (and most repair shops) will give you a discount toward the repair. Based on your description, you may need both the cleaning, and a new battery.

  76. I forgot my phone at home and I work 10hr shifts It was left on the charger while I was at work. I came home and my screen was spasing out tapping on apps on its own and barely letting me tap anything screen most of he time my taps on the screen is unresponsive.. Please help me fix it.this is the 3rd time my phone has done this and it has been replaced already twice.

    1. Thanks Angie,

Sadly, you need another G2 yet again.

This problem keeps happening on many G2s. It's some sort of manufacturing defect. Take your phone back to your service provider (or LG) and this time, see if they can get you back into a different phone all together.

  77. I just replaced my LG G2's cracked screen. Its light/proximity sensor/LED no longer work (it is checked working with another G2, however).

Is a connection loosen somewhere or the board damaged. Please help.

    1. Thanks Hoa,

There is one central flex cable that controls most of the internal workings of your G2. If this cable is not plugged in correctly, or was damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement, then you will need to replace this part in addition to your screen. As LG products don't use any sort of internal shields to protect the internal parts (like Apple does), this flex cable is often damaged along with the main screen.

      1. I do a have a questions about this. Which Flex cable would it be?

        1. Thanks Michael,

What repair are you referring to?

  78. My G2 started playing the sound for all vids through the ear speaker instead of the loud speaker that it normally plays through. I didn't change any settings, though I did look through them after the problem started to see if I could find something. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Thanks Wendell,

This is a setting inside the G2. If you can't find where the setting is, you can always just restore your device back to factory default settings. The G2 does have some software bugs, so it is possible that this was just a quirk that appeared. The other option, apps can sometimes change internal settings if they are either not installed correctly, or if they are "bad apps" that corrupt internal settings.

A third option, browsing around on the internet without an antivirus program (on android devices) can lead to your phone picking up a virus. Whatever the case here, a factory restore should fix the problem.

  79. Hi there,

I have just replaced the digitiser on my G2 D802 and the phone boots up fine and does everything it should apart from pick up a phone signal.

I have checked both the black and white coaxial cables and they seem to be secure and in the right connections (white - above and below the battery. Black - above battery and white connection , bottom connection is in the bottom right hand corner.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    1. Thanks James,

If your phone is not picking up a connection at all, then odds are, something is going on with either your SIM card, or your SIM Card Reader. Double check the parts in this area, and make certain everything is plugged in. If it is, then call your service provider, and see if they can reset the connection to your device.

If neither of these helps, try restoring your device back to factory default settings. Internal calibration errors are common on the G2 post repair.

  80. Hi.

I've managed to smash the glass covering the back camera. The camera itself is still working, it's just the glass cover that's broken. Photos come out looking very dim an washed out. I need to replace that bit of glass. I'm not sure if it's called the lens or the lens cover. Do you sell this part? Do you know where I could get it replaced? Thanks.

    1. Thanks Lex,

The cover of the main camera is likely only sold as part of the complete back door cover assembly. We do not sell the part, so eBay may be your best source for this. If you can't find the camera lens specifically, then you may need a complete back door.

  81. I have an LG g2 with a broken screen that will not allow me to use the touchscreen any longer and airplane mode is turned on is there anyway to turn airplane mode off?

    1. Thanks Matt,

There is not a way to turn off this feature if the touchscreen is not working. You will need to replace your digitizer before you can alter settings again.

  82. My LG G2 screen turns on randomly by itself very frequently for no reason. My sms ringtone also half rings randomnly as well for no reason and the screen turns on at the same time yet I did not receive anything. A full reset did not change this. Neither did sending it to be repaired. I just got it back from being repaired and no changes it still does these bugs. Please help if you can.

    1. Thanks Pat,

The LG G2 series phone has had major software issues like this. As the reset did not work (neither did repair), it sounds like your motherboard was faulty from the start. Your best option here will be to contact LG, and see if they can get you into a new phone. Since your device has been previously repaired, they may say your warranty has been voided. If this is the case, you may just need to buy a new phone all together.

  83. please help i have replaced lcd and digitzer on my g2 it turns on but no picture please help

    1. Thanks Dylan,

It sounds like your new LCD simply is not fully plugged in, or your main flex cable (the "U" shaped one) is not fully attached to all it's contact points. This one flex cable controls every main function inside the G2, and when parts don't function, it usually means this cable is unplugged somewhere, or it is damaged.

If you check everything inside your phone, and there are no visible signs of damage or bad connections, then likely this main flex was damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. Once you swap the main flex out for a new one, you should be good to go.

  84. Hi, My screen went "fuzzy" two da ago, and I take really good care of it. Sometimes it works an sometimes it doesn't. I called a few places an they want to charge an arm, leg & kidney.. it's crazy please help me My phone's only 6months lol

    1. Thanks Jessica,

If your screen is blurry, then you have a damaged LCD screen. The LG G2 is not that bad to repair compared to other devices. You can purchase a DIY kit right here online, or you can mail in your device for a technician to repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail

  85. Hi...my lg g2 launch the web browser automaticlly after I swipe the lockscreen .... Is there a way to stop it?
    Thanks a lot

    1. Thanks Tammy,

There should be a setting either in your main menu, or in the web browser that should disable this feature. If not, you can always reset your device back to factory default settings. This will certainly clear the problem. Just make sure to backup your data first.

  86. Hi,

Recently just got my LCD and digitizer replaced due to the old one breaking. The repair was successful but the screen is raised along the top, bottom and one side of the screen. The glue has not held in that area and is so raised that I can easily put my nail in and raise the side even further! What is the quickest and most cost effective way of solving it? Thanks!

    1. Thanks Clare,

If you used glue to attach your screen down, then it is the residual glue that is keeping your screen from setting flush. You may need to redo the repair. Our technicians use double sided tape to hold down components as it is far less obtrusive then glue.

Be careful when removing the old glue however, it has a tendency to tear internal parts when it comes out. After using the tape, place 2 rubber bands around your device along the top and bottom for 24 hours. This will normally seal any gaps that are left over.

Also, if your main frame was bent during the initial event that caused your screen to need replacement, then you may need to bend your screen back into place as well.

  87. Hello,

My LG G2 D800 never had any software issues, until I recently replaced the screen and digi. Now the device is not able to turn on for longer than a second then just says zero battery and shuts off. And when plugged to charger the phone recognizes it because it lights up but the phone just boot loops instead of charging and the computer doesn't recognize it at all. It turns on only for a few seconds says zero battery and boot loops again super slowly. I rechecked to make sure all cables where connected internally and the repair still looked perfect. I left it on the charger for hours and still no change just in case it was super dead. I also tried multiple hard resets and chargers, Would appreciate some advice.

    Thanks,
    Nathan

    1. Thanks Nathan,

      There are 2 possibilities here:
1.) Something happened to your battery to cause it to completely loose any charge within it. The electrons can not move anymore, and a new battery should fix the problem.
2.) Your main flex cable was damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. The G2 main flex controls almost every function inside your device. If a new battery does not fix the issue, then replacing your main flex will be the next step.

  88. I just got my LG G2 phone from Verizon on July 23rd. I can not send/receive picture text messages. I have been reading that this is a BIG problem w/this phone. Verizon is worthless on this subject. Any ideas on how to fix?

    1. Thanks Anita,

If all your other data based items (photos through email, web browsing, and such) are working, then you simply have some sort of block on the phone. This could be due to the person you are sending to cannot receive what you are trying to send. The other option is that Verizon has something messed up on their end.

Try a full reset on the device, and see if that fixes the problem. If not, take your device back to Verizon, and if they cannot figure out the issue, then ask them to get you into another phone. As you got this one recently, it should be well under the warranty.

  89. Hi,

My LG G2 all of a sudden switched off but it will not turn back on? Even when it's on charge it is showing no signs of life? Tried USB charging plus standard plug charger. Any advice would be appreciated.

    1. Thanks Andy,

Sounds like you just have a dead battery. Replacing this part should solve the problem. If you still have a warranty on the phone, then we suggest getting a new device via your warranty as the LG G2 seems to be developing software bugs with use. Hence the reason LG has been quick to launch the G3.

  90. So I replaced the lcd and digitizer on my lg g2 now when I power it on the screen just shows a lot of little pixels and there is a black bar across the top.

    1. Thanks Keith,

Sounds like the screen you got may be bad. However there are a few things to try first.
1.) Reattempt the repair, and make sure everything is fully plugged in.
2.) Check to see if any other parts were damaged by the event that caused your screen to need replacement. If your phone got wet, you need to get it cleaned.

If none of these steps help, then you may have a bad screen, or you may need to replace your main flex cable in your G2. This one central flex cable controls most of the main functions of your device. If this cable was affected, then even a good screen will not work correctly.

  91. my camera lens got some scratches and the pictures arent clear and are very clumsy..what should i do?

    1. Thanks chaitanya,

The camera lens can be replaced on its own without having to remove a ton of parts. We don't have the parts available online, but you should be able to find the lens, a parts phone you can take it from, or you can always mail in your device for repair with one of our techs at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  92. After trying to set up Call Forwarding on my LG9 phone, I can no longer get incoming calls. Everythng else works fine:text, date and OUTGOING CALLS all work fine, I am just able to received incoming calls.

I appreciate whatever advice you can offer

    Gene

    1. Thanks Gene,

Reset your device back to factory default settings, and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then your set, and the problem was just a software bug.

If the problem is not gone, then contact your service provider as your call forwarding may have accidentally blocked the incoming calls. Your service provider should be able to assist you in this better then we can.

  93. The top portion of my LG G2's LCD became unresponsive out of the blue one day (no drops or excessive pressure). It started out as just a small area in the top right area of the screen, not too noticable, but within a few weeks the whole upper half of my LCD is more or less useless. I can still see everything on the area that is unresponsive, just that when i touch the area (which is still growing apparently) it does not respond to anything I do. I have read a few forums and seen that this is a widespread problem with the G2 model, that may be software related, and that there may be an update released to fix this. Any ideas on how i can fix this problem? or how long it will be until an update is released to correct the problem?

    1. Thanks Mich,

This is a common problem on the G2, but sadly this software "glitch" actually results in the hardware component going bad. If your device is still covered by a warranty, then take it back and get a new phone.

If not, then you can replace the screen, and your device should work again. Keep in mind that the G2 is riddled with software problems like this. If your warranty is voided (as repairing your device does), then any future problems, you will be forced to repair the phone instead of getting it replaced.

  94. Hello. I have an Lg G2. This phone is amazing, but sometimes it will just randomly crash, and the keyboard is really dlayed on the web, and on kik. Can you please tell me, if anything, what to do? I have already soft reset it multiple times.

    1. Thanks Bob,

The G2 is riddled with software glitches. Try restoring your device back to factory default settings.

If the problem goes away, then your set. If it does not, then look into getting a different phone. Once a G2 picks up a software glitch, then they tend to come back.

  95. I replaced my lcd and digitizer on my lg g2, but now it goes haywire, double-clicking everything, making phone calls when i'm not using it. Please help! Thanks!

    1. Thanks Jen,

Reattempt the repair from the beginning. If you get the exact same issue, then there are 2 possibilities:
1.) Your digitizer is thinner then it should be (defective part), and this is why you have the error. Contact your source for the parts, and see if they have a warranty in place that will cover this part.
2.) Your main flex cable inside your device was damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. If a new part does not solve the problem, then replacing your main flex will the be the next step.

You can always mail in your device for repair with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  96. I just replaced the LCD screen on my LG G2. When I hit the power button to turn in it on, it vibrates for a quick second and nothing lights up. If I hold the power button it just pulse vibrates as like counting in seconds and nothing happens. Same thing happens if I plug in the charger. I've taken the phone apart twice now to double check anything and I can't see that anything has been missed. Some help would be awesome.

    1. Thanks Justin,

If your certain everything was plugged in correctly, then your device may have a damaged main flex cable. This part controls almost every function inside your G2. There are also no protective shields inside the G2 to stop pressure to this part when it is dropped.

The main flex cables are revision specific, so if you are uncertain which one to get, you can always send in your device for repair with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  97. My phone keeps sending multiple text is there anyway to fix this?

    1. Thanks DaVeon,

The LG G2 has plenty of software bugs like this one. Try restoring your device back to factory default settings. If this does not solve the problem, call your service provider to make sure there is not a bug on their end.

If neither options fixes the bug, then talk to your service provider about getting a new device all together.

  98. My g2 has begun to occasionally" black out" my home, settings, and back button toolbar on the bottom of the screen, preventing me from returning to my home screen or closing out of many applications. This only happens when I have an app, messaging, my camera, etc open. When I turn it off and back on again, the toolbar will reappear.

    1. Thanks Courtney,

The G2 has tons of software bugs like this. Start with restoring your device back to factory default settings. If this does not work, then you may want to talk to your service provider about getting into a different phone.

Once a device develops a software bug, they tend to come back.

  99. LG G2 smashed screen professionally replaced. Took back once when other chargers did not work. They checked things and said to use LG charger only. That worked for short time. Since then power charging issues. Phone only charges when completely off. Then has to have power button held multiple times over a minute to turn back on (can't find pattern).

When on it shows as being charged but doesn't, just maintains or loses. Have seen occasional message to move phone to current location because phone too hot or too cold to charge, but temp is normal.

This has been going on for more than a month. Any ideas?

    1. Thanks Jerry,

Yes, your main flex cable was damaged during the drop and needs replacement.

The main flex controls every function of the G2, and as the G2 does not use protective shields inside the phone, the main flex is usually damaged at the same time a screen is.

The main flex cable is revision specific, so if you are uncertain which revision you need, we suggest sending in your device for a technician to repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  100. So, I tried to SOFTWARE UPDATE my LG G2 on its hidden menu..
and after Id tap some options there. my phone starts on rebooting and has SOFTWARE UPDATE on screen..
suddenly it stops and has this message on screen

    FOTAFS_Open/cache/fota/log/FSUA_LOG_000.txt, 0, No such file o
    FOTAFS_Create/cache/fota/log/FSUA_LOG_000.txt, 66, No such fil
    FOTAFS_Close 0

i cant get it out.. even if i flash its stock rom, hard reset and everything i know.
hopefully you can help.. i searched thru the net and i cant find some related problem..

    1. Thanks Beau,

Your LG G2 has corrupted software, and is now stuck in a boot loop. There is nothing you can do to fix it.

Take your device back to your service provider or contact LG, and see what they can do about getting you into a different phone.

  101. my lg g2 fell hard. The screen is craked and the phone still works. But when i connect the charger and its full charge, i leave the charger on and its working but when i take out the charger it works fine in 1 minute but shuts off. When i turn it on again it says LG and shuts off.

    1. Thanks mohammed,

Sounds like your main flex cable was damaged during the drop. The main flex in a G2 controls almost every function on the device, and it is not protected by any internal shielding. So when a G2 is dropped, it usually will damage the main flex as well.

The main flex is revision specific, so make sure you order the correct part if you would like to repair your device on your own. Otherwise, you can always mail in your device for repair with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  102. So I dropped my phone and the display quit working, the backlight still worked and so did the touch, it wasn't cracked but I replaced it anyways. The new screen worked but had ripples in it so I went to fix it and now it's doing the same thing as when I dropped it. I may have ripped the foam attatched to my phone. Does that have anything to do with it & how can I fix my problem?

    1. Thanks Aspen,

It actually sounds like your main flex cable was damaged during the drop. The main flex is your large "U" shaped cable inside that phone that has your charge port, and almost every other component attached to it. Since the G2 does not have any protective shields over this cable, drops usually cause enough external pressure to damage this flex. When this happens, all sorts of problems arise from there.

You can certainly replace this part on your own, or you can mail it in for a technician to repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail. If you repair your main flex on your own, make certain to get the same revision type as you have now. There are multiple versions of this main flex for each model of the G2.

  103. I recently took a swim with my phone in my pocket. It has functioned fine after drying and cleaning connectors that I could see after removing the back. But the problem I'm having is the backlight will stop working randomly. Sometimes squeezing the phone seems to get it to turn back on but not consistently. I don't know where the connection to the backlight is so I don't know if I have cleaned it or not.
    Thanks

    1. Thanks Do,

The back light is part of your LCD, so you will need to replace your entire screen.

In addition, you will need to have your device professionally cleaned. If this is not done, the internal circuits will continue to breakdown, and you will either have to replace every part as the stop working or replace the entire device once it stops all together.

You can always mail in your device for a technician to clean and repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  104. Hello guys, recently my LGg2 started making some weird things like : 1rst: huge lags while trying to open big apps like Fb, 2nd : When i press the Turn On Button it takes over 5 secs to open the screen.
    3rd; Overall lags pretty much.
I will appreciate any kind of help :D
    Thank you!

    1. Thanks George,

Try restoring your device back to factory default settings. Phones are just like small computers, except the only way to "defrag" them is to completely restore then to their defaults. After the restore, you can always add your information back onto the device.

  105. Found my LG G2 not turning on, but flash light is turned on constantly.
Phone doesn't react to anything. i've disassambled it and switched battery off and then on. No change.
Do you have any ideas on what could be the problem?

    1. Thanks Artem,

If the battery is not the cause, then your main flex cable inside the device could be the culprit. Main flex cables are revision specific, so make certain you order the correct part. You can always mail in your device and let a technician repair it at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  106. I recently had my G2 LCD and digitizer replaced. it came back with white lines running vertically down the screen and a bad after-imaging effect. will be trying out another digitizer and lcd on Monday, as for now what else could I be looking at to make that happen?

    1. Thanks JEB,

The main flex cable may have been damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. The main flex is often damaged during drops, and it controls almost every function inside the G2. The main flex is revision specific, so make sure you order the correct one if it comes to that.

  107. Hi there, my making a phone call display has changed. When I make a phone call and choose the no. I want from contacts the phone display becomes very small. The display stoped being spread all over the screen and I can't see the speaker sign or any other, all I see is the red button to end the coversation

    1. Thanks Shirli,

Try resetting the device back to factory default settings. After the reset, try using your phone without adding on any of your data. If this your device still does not work, then contact LG or your service provider to see what they can do about getting you a new phone.

If the problem is gone, but comes back after adding your apps, then you have an app that is changing a setting. Remove your apps one-by-one till you find the problem.

  108. I cracked my screen on my lg g2. I ordered the screen and digitizer from amazon. In the course of replacing the parts I damaged the board at the bottom of the phone where the charger plug sits. While trying to remove it I bent the board. I was able to complete the "fix". Heres the problem now. The phone is not sealed properly at the bottom of the phone. The touch screen works when it wants to. Phone calls are miserable the screen goes black. I cant hang up from the call. If the touch screen isnt working I try to push the power button the screen will come on and go off if i repeat this several times i usually get it to stay on.

    1. Thanks Rudy,

The part that was bent is actually one long flex cable inside the device called the main flex. This part controls every function of the G2. Once this part is replaced, you should be good to go.

  109. I dropped my LG G2 in water and it seems to be working just fine, except for the fact my screen brightness no longer works. It stays the same dimness, and I am unable to change it.

    1. Greetings,

You were very fortunate that it is all that happened in this case; usually most water-damaged devices see damage to the charge port or related parts too.

If the water fused a circuit or two on the board, it may be disrupting this part of the software. If it was only a temporary disruption, you may be able to restore the functionality by restoring it to factory settings - but this is not a 100% chance.

  110. When I plug my phone into a charger it won't let me do anything with it. It's as if the touch screen does not work, and just recently started to do this. I'm not sure why or when it began. Is there anything I can do to fix this ?

    1. Greetings,

It may be a sign that the main flex is wearing out or that a part is loose on the inside. With the design of the LG G2, the components are not as secure as you might see in a Samsung or Apple device.

However, as a general rule, it is advised not to use the device while it is on a charger; it runs a serious risk of damaging the phone or causing personal electric shock.

  111. Good morning,

I have an LG G2 that I purchased last November. It has always been in a case and treated well, but I believe I need a new screen digitizer, but want to make sure before I purchase.

My phone's touch screen no longer taps on, it also just has a section about an inch from the top of the phone that runs horizontal where the touch screen does not work. Otherwise, the touch screen works for most things.

Also, sometimes my phone will flip screens and glitches out from time to time. After a while it stops after I reset it and redo calibrations on it.
Yesterday, for the first time, I saw a page on my phone that said the lcd was damaged.

The screen is not cracked and I can see my pages fine. Is this all fixed by the touch screen digitizer? If so, is it fairly easy to install?
    Thanks!
    Brooke

    1. Greetings,

Yes, it sounds like you are looking at a new digitizer. The most difficult part of the repair is removing the adhesive. There are different ways to do it.

Warming up the adhesive will loosen it, and most likely keep it available for re-use. The danger is applying heat for too long; even our technicians have to be very careful. No more than 4 to 5 seconds at the most.

Others have gently pried it off, but this has two other risks: it usually takes the adhesive with it, and it also has a greater risk of damaging the LCD (or screen, as described).

  112. I changed my LG G2 lcd/digitizer and the phone worked fine afterward. I put it on a charger shortly thereafter, and in 3 hours I returned to find my phone turned off, hot, and unable to be powered on.

    1. Greetings,

The power is not being transmitted to the device - the short hours of charge you had were probably from the remainder of the battery. When they get warm, there is a fault or damage in the connection. The best place to look would be over the main flex (the large U-shaped part) and check for corrosion, cuts, or nicks that may be shorting out the battery or not allowing a full connection.

While the battery is getting warm like this, it can make it very dangerous, so I advise caution.

  113. Hey, my phone recently started giving me problems with the touchscreen for which I ordered the digitizer, but now the LCD has started going nuts. The touch function works where it can but the screen keeps shaking up and down until it freezes and it gets to a point where the lower part of the screen looks like an old tv with the gray corrosive colors.

It keeps augmenting until the screen goes black, for which I restart the phone but this seems to make the situation worse and the more I use the phone the worse it gets.

    1. Greetings,

Two possibilities. The LCD itself may be damaged and in need of repair - or the flex cable controlling of it has a tear or damage on it. If it is damaged in such a way that the cable contents are exposed (a thin conductive sheet), then it may be getting short-circuited by other parts of the device or on the motherboard.

  114. Hi, I have a LG G2 which doesn't power up and the charging led doesn't come on when plugged into the charger. The guy I got it off said the phone was working but then he cracked the screen so replaced the LCD and digitizer and the phone worked after he did this. Then because the screen wasn't sitting properly he took the phone apart again and ended up breaking part of the glass but when he put it back together it didn't work. I thought there may be an issue with the usb charging port so I got a replacement flex cable and charge port and replaced this but the phone still doesn't work. When I plug it into the charger the bottom of the phone gets hot but still no sign of life. Any ideas as to whats wrong?

    1. Greetings,

The trouble may actually be in the main flex of the device, which is the large u-shaped cable. The part that concerns me is the device becoming warm - that may be a battery issue and/or a crossed wire near the charge port. (This may have happened during the first repair of the lcd/digitizer as well.)

In the long run, the main flex of the device does not appear to be transmitting the power and data as it needs to be.

  115. I recently replaced the touch screen digitizer and lcd on my lg g2. It powers on but their's no image. The touch screen and backlight work but the screen just stays black.
I took the lcd screen and digitizer to a local cellphone repair shop to test, they said it worked perfect so its not the lcd. I also checked if all the connections were on correctly and no wires were pinched please help. I would really appreciate it. thanks in advance.

    1. Thanks Jay,

There is one main internal flex cable on the LG G2. Usually if a screen repair does not work, then this means that the main flex was damaged during the same event that caused the screen to need replacement.

The main flex controls most of the functions in the G2. Once this part is replaced, you should be set.

  116. I dropped my G2 and cracked the screen. Ordered a new one and replaced it myself. It worked perfectly at first but after a couple days the screen seems to look 'hazy' or 'streaky' once in a while. It is still usable although once in a while it seems to register random taps or swipes when I'm not touching it but those are rare. With the screen issues I figured out that if I press down at the bottom of the screen (where it says 'LG', not on the actual touch portion) it clears it up at least for a while... I also noticed that there is a little back light around the edges of the screen in places so I don't think it's totally sealed down although I put the repair adhesive all around, perhaps some of it didn't take?

Can you tell what this is and if so how would you fix it?

    1. Thanks Steve,

Since pressure will relieve the problem for a while, it sounds like you may have a loose connection or a bad main flex cable.

Start by reattempting the repair from the beginning, and double check every connection inside your device. If this does not fix the problem, then odds are, your main flex was damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement. This is a common problem as LG does not put any protective shields over the main to prevent impact pressure from damaging the internals.

You should try replacing the main flex cable in your device. We do not have the part, but you should be able to acquire this on eBay.

  117. The knock function on my phone to turn on isn't functioning, but the knock function to turn off is. I can't use the clear function on the drop screen either. Everything else works just perfectly. I think water splashed on it but literally just a couple of drops. Screen isn't cracked and its never been dropped. I just had these two issues. I went to a Verizon store for assistance and they just want me to buy a new one. Any suggestions?

    1. Thanks Dominic,

The "knock" feature is actually programmed for detection inside the software of the device. The G2 is known to develop many software glitches overtime; hence the reason LG rushed the launch of the G3.

Try restoring your device back to factory default settings. This may resolve the problem. If it does not (as others have reported), there is nothing you can do to replace the parts in the G2 to make these features work again. Most folks are either getting new phones, or just live without these features.

  118. Phone fell in the toilet :( . It turns on, it vibrates , LED light, mic, earphone, back buttons all work but the screen doesnt. It lights up but you can see the water in the screen. Do i replace the lcd screen & housing mid cover or just the lcd screen?

    1. Thanks James,

Neither; once a device has been touched by any liquid, the internal components begin to breakdown. In order to stop this, you need to have your device run through a liquid damage cleaning. Once the cleaning is done, you may need to replace your full LCD/Digi assembly. However, if the part is replaced, and you don't have it cleaned, your new part will begin to breakdown along with the other parts. You will just end up replacing your screen (along with other parts) all over again.

  119. My LG G2 is less than two months old, one morning I found the phone wouldn't turn on at all. No heat coming off it and no LEDs, hard or soft restarts did nothing. No response or sound when plugging it into power or computer. I definitely haven't dropped it, but I've gotten just a little water on it when my pants pocket got a bit wet from the rain. The phone seems so tightly put together, can that small amount of water lead to damage?

Anyway my theory is the battery is bad since it's so decisively without a hint of power. It was almost fully charged the night before it happened, so it wasn't plugged in when it failed. I did fall asleep on top of it that night, but I doubt my body heat would lead to this?

    1. Thanks Drune,

It's possible the device was liquid damaged, but not likely. Start with replacing just the battery. If this does not work, then look into getting your device run through a liquid damage cleaning.

  120. Hi,my lg g2 is 8 months old recently developed two vertical bands/lines
    1. The first band is slightly dark, its 1 inch wide present on the left side of screen this one doesn't flicker but shows color banding along its right edge, part of screen with in this band is not updating(delayed updating)with rest of the screen (which is operating normally) resulting in ghosting and distortion in this part.
2.The second band less darker than first one,its 2 inch wide present next to the first one. This band flickers heavily but updates normally with rest of the screen
3.These bands are present even on boot screen
4.These bands appear only when I use the phone by waking it up from sleep or after setting it aside ideally for some time, they disappear completely on using phone for few minutes never to reappear again and then the phone screen looks completely normal
5.Decreasing brightness to minimum also makes these bands disappear but they reappear again on increasing the brightness. However operating the phone for few minutes make them disappear totally and they won't reappear again even on full brightness
6.phone never dropped or came in to contact with liquids
7.Yes I did hard reset couple of times,it doesn't solve the problem.

    1. Thanks LS,

You actually have a broken LCD screen. Replace your G2's screen, and you should be good to go.

  121. I changed the microphone flex cable, and after that there is some touches on screen while my finger is away ! i opened developer options and activated show touches, and there is alot when i'm not touching the screen.

    1. Thanks Ahmed,

The microphone is part of the main flex on the LG G2. If you just replaced the microphone part without replacing your entire flex, then your main flex is now damaged, and this would explain these random touches. Replace your main flex, and you should be good to go.

If you did replace your main flex, then you may have a defective screen. Replace your full screen and you should be good to go.

It's also possible that both parts are bad, so in the end, you may need to replace both components.

  122. hi, my lg g2 fell on the floor & its digitiser is cracked & lcd could be cracked but not sure as it wont power up at all, phone doesnt power up at all even when put on charge, but gets abit warm when left on charge but nothing happens. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

    1. Thanks Nasir,

Sounds like both your LCD and Digi are damaged as you can get power to your unit (the battery heats up), but nothing else happens. Try replacing your entire front screen, and you should be set.

  123. hi. okay im going to try and explain as best as i could. my lg g2 when the screen is on it jumps from the app im using to another one and it keeps doing it until i turn the screen off. it jumps to apps imnot even using.

    1. Thanks Raven,

      There are 2 possibilities here:
1.) There is a software glitch that is causing this. Try restoring your device back to factory default settings, and see if that fixes the issue.
2.) If the reset does not work then you may have a bad digitizer (the part that controls your touch function). In order to fix this, you will need to replace your entire front screen on your device.

  124. Hi, I bought LG G2 yesterday and I have problem with one app.
When I open Quick Translator I get message "To run this App update is required. Move to App Manager for update. Continue?" But when I click Yes in App Manager everything is updated.
I dont know what is the problem, everything else is OK.

    1. Thanks Milosh,

Sounds like the app simply did not install correctly. Uninstall the app. Shut down your phone. Reboot it after a minute or two. Reinstall the app.

Should this not work, restore the phone back to factory default settings, and then try installing the app via a PC connection, or through a WiFi connection.

  125. My phone dropped in water for about 10min and it wont turn on at all now. I put it in rice and it still qont turn on. Can you fix my phone?

    1. Thanks Qui,

Your device needs a liquid damage cleaning. If you need your phone in a hurry, we suggest searching for a repair shop near you. Otherwise, you can always mail in your device for repair with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  126. My friend typed in the password heaps and gave back my phone. on the screen it says 'account unlock' and it has a bar saying email and another saying password. I have tried all of my email and passwords and it still wont let me into my phone. Hard resetting my phone doesn't work for some reason. I am really frustrated and I just want my phone back with or without all my stuff on it so please help

What i really wanna know is how can i get back to my lock screen to unlock my phone.

    1. Thanks John,

Once an account has been locked, you can't get back in it without doing a full reset to factory default settings (instructions can be found in the blog above). Once the full restore is finished, you will be able to get into your device.

If for some reason the device will not let you in after the restore, then it is possible that the motherboard was damaged during the repair, or flipped with the motherboard from another phone. Double check that either of those are not in play if the reset does not work.

If all else fails, you can always contact your service provider and see if there is anything they can do.

  127. My LGG2 will come on sometimes and run for sometimes a minute and sometimes 20 minutes then screen goes blank but phone still on. I can push volume buttons and touch the screen and hear things happening but can't see them.. I have replaced the screen and replaced the battery. If I push on the center of the screen and kind of twist it it will sometimes come back on. It had been dropped before which is why I replaced the screen. Any leads???? I also get a red indicator light sometimes when it is on charge.

    1. Thanks Jason,

Your proximity sensor is not working correctly. This could be due to light bleed coming in due to a bad seating (if your screen is loose at all), or due to not enough light bleed if the wrong adhesive was used (if you used say super glue instead of double sided tape).

If neither of these options are the culprit, then you are most likely looking at a bad proximity sensor, and you should replace the part.

  128. I have an LG G2 (Verizon) and it was working fine one second, then I went to turn on the screen and it looks like grey static. I can feel the touchscreen vibrate when I touch the screen but I have absolutely no display other than grey looking static covering the whole screen. I have received texts but can't look at them. Please help!

    1. Thanks Julia,

Try using the 3 button reset feature for your device. If this is just a glitch in the software (which the G2 is known for), then the restore will fix the problem. If this does not work, then your device may have just shorted out the LCD.

G2s have WAY too many glitches to warrant repairing this device. We suggest just getting a new phone if the problem persists.

  129. I hope you can help me. My son has an LG2 D802 and broke his screen. I've replaced it with a new glass digitizer and LCD following instructions found on YoutTube, I was very careful not to snag any cables etc, however on putting it back together again the front LED went green then blue intermittently, the battery heated up as did the screen but no display at all. I thought it might be as a result of the battery going flat as it had laid unused for over a week and so put it on charge however this made no difference and eventually the led went out all together and there's now no obvious signs of life. Can you help? You'll make my son very happy!

    1. Thanks Will,

Sounds like you just got a bad screen there. Contact your source for the parts, and see if they can get you a 2nd display.

The only other option here is to go ahead and replace your battery as well. Batteries that overheat can cause the LCD screens to burn out. This is not a likely cause of your screen issue since your display never worked correctly in the first place. However, it could cause your 2nd screen to burn out.

In addition, double check the revision number of your device. The D802 G2 is an international only version of the G2. If the device has never left the US, then depending on the service provider, it's not likely that it is a D802. If you tried to put an international screen on a domestic device, this would cause the screen to die as well.

You can always get more information from our online support team regarding your device at: www.phonedoctors.com/contact-us.

  130. My LG G2, having been hard and soft reset multiple times, continues to freeze and crash multiple times per day. It is in a case and has never been dropped. It has no viruses. What is my next step toward having a highly functioning phone again?

    1. Thanks Bret,

Since you all ready did the resets, this issue is not caused by a software glitch, but rather is due to a bad manufacture of the phone in general. The G2 has had major problems across the board, so this not a big surprise to us. This is also why LG rushed out the launch of the G3; to compensate for some of the failing G2s.

Best thing to do is just to look for a new phone. Maybe contact your service provider, and see if there is anything else that can be done.

  131. My phone keeps on tapping on a single place On its own how do I fix this?

    1. Thanks David,

This means your digitizer (the part that controls the touch function) has gone on the fritz, and needs replacement. The G2 screens have to be replaced as a full screen assembly (LCD and Digi at once). The G2s however, are notorious for software glitches and major crashes, so don't repair the phone just yet.

First, check with your service provider first to see if they can cover your device under any sort of warranty. If not, then replacing the screen will be your next step.

  132. My LG G2 screen goes black after I have dialed a number. When I go to end the call I cant as I cant see anything on my screen.

    1. Thanks Bez,

This is a software failure of the device. The G2 is notorious for problems like this. We suggest contacting either LG or your service provider to see what they can do to get you another phone. This one cannot be repaired as there is an internal short circuit causing a software crash every time you make a call.

  133. My G2 drops phone calls constantly no matter of how much signal it says I have and I have started to notice a pattern of when it happens. If I put the phone up to my ear to talk, the call drops. If I am using the speaker phone, the call drops when the screen times out and goes dark. It seems like the similarity between the two is that the calls drop when the screen goes dark because when you put the phone up to your ear the screen goes dark. Now, I am sure there are also other things going on when the screen goes dark, like the phone locks, so I am not sure exactly what is causing the issue.

    1. Thanks Kris,

This is a software glitch. Your device has some how gotten the idea that a screen "dimming" and screen "lock" is the same thing.

Try restoring your device back to factory default settings. If the problem goes away, then your set; it was just a bug. If the problem persists after the restore, then this is not just a software glitch, but is a short inside the device. If this is the case, take your device in to your service provider or contact LG for a new phone.

  134. My phone took a swim (fresh water), and two weeks later it won't come back on. I took it apart and disconnected the battery and all attachments. Will it work again?

    1. Greetings,

I'm amazed it held on this long. Unfortunately, since the battery in the device has been active so long as the circuits were previously wet, it may have shorted out many components within the device. If you are lucky, a replacement of the main flex could bring the device back to life, but I would advise seeking a professional cleaning if you wish to give the device a chance at life again.

The danger with water damage is that when it flows between the circuits on the board, it can short-circuit them or cause irreparable damage. What may not be helping is that the LG G2 is designed with a tight internal setup with one large flex that controls most of the components; so the gamble is very strong on replacing that part.

  135. I just replaced the LCD and digitizer on my G2. Everything came apart and went back together easily. The problem is that the screen won't stay down. I cleaned it top and bottom and the sides with alcohol swabs but it just will not stick. Any suggestions?

    1. Thanks Josh,

Our technicians use some strong double sided tape to hold most screens in place. You can get a similar product from any hardware store. Should this not work, check to see if your frame was bent at all. Bent frames will also keep parts from holding on.

  136. I have a G2 that went into the firmware update by itself and is unresponsive. Once the battery runs down, I can connect it to a PC and the PC will see it as a device, but not a drive. Carrier will replace phone as it is still under warranty, but is there a way to get the data off of the old phone in this state or am I SOL?

    Thanks!

    1. Thanks Andy,

There is not a way to get the data off. Cell phones are made so if the device goes goofy (you can't get into the device), and you choose to get rid of said phone, your information is safe.

It's not the most convenient security feature in cases like this, but at least no one else can get at your info.

  137. About 3 months ago i dropped my lg g2 and the screen cracked so i sent it in for repairs to get a new screen, after that i had a few problems so i sent it back for repairs but the problem wasn't fixed:
the screen moves vertically up and down, sometimes a lot at one time, to the point where i cant really use the my phone because it's difficult to actually use the touch screen, and at other times it isn't as bad. Is there anything i can do?

    1. Thanks Kelyne,

You can try replacing the main flex cable on your device.

Most of the functions on an LG G2 are controlled by this main flex, so if the screen is good, then replacing that flex will be your next step. This flex cable is models specific, so make sure you get the part that will work on your device.

  138. hi i am having this problem

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q49Yf7inuiw

screen start flickering gently then violently if use some heavy applications or any kind of heavy use , this started to happen during i was doing a long VOIP call and since then like this , i tried factory reset rooting/unrooting still there , so i think it is hardware problem ,which part need to be changed ? thank you very much

    1. Thanks Mostafa,

You just need a new screen for your device.

We have them right here online, or you can always mail in your device for repair with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  139. my phone keeps saying i have a multi media message. i have shut it off and restarted it multiple times and it still wont go away. i have even soft rebooted it and it is still there. how do i get it to go away

    1. Thanks Lianne,

Perform a factory restore on the device. This should fix it. If not, then you have a service issue, and you should talk to them about the messages you are getting.

  140. My dog knocked my phone out of my hand into his water dish. I got it out, dried it off and put it in rice and it works fine except that when I try to turn the screen on, it turns itself off before I have a chance to unlock the screen. It continues to do this between times before 15-25 times before I am finally able to unlock my phone and use it. I am starting to get extremely irritated with my phone to the point of throwing it, even though I'm aware that will make it worse. What can I do to fix it? I have already done both resets and it helped for an hour and then started acting up again.

    1. Thanks Stefany,

When a device is touched by liquid, the internal components begin to break down.

This process does not stop, when the liquid is gone, and the only way to get your device back up and running (hopefully) is to do a liquid damage cleaning. A technician will clean every area of your device with a high grade cleaner. Normally, a mobile device will resume full functionality after the cleaning.

Sometimes, parts will be too damaged as a result of the liquid, and will need replacement afterward. If that is the case, most repair shops (especially ours) will give you a price quote for repair before they fix anything on the device.

If you would like us to clean your device, you can mail in your phone or tablet at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  141. I had a water all over my G2 and I cleaned everything removed the battery after 24 hrsi turned it on, it becoms warm and shuting down what i shall do ?

    1. Thanks Joseph,

Sounds like your battery was damaged by the liquid.

Replace this with a new battery, and you should be good to go.

  142. Hi I have an LG G2 which I brought off ebay. The phone is unlocked and when I put my giffgaff sim card in I receive a signal and I can connect to the internet as well, however I cant make phone calls or send texts and it just says emergency calls only.

When I go to phone barring under call settings it comes up with "sim card or network error" Ive tried a different giff gaff sim card and also a sim card on 3 and I still get this message come up. I can also see at the same time that outgoing calls, incoming calls, and texts have been disabled which is obviously why I cant use the phone.

Im not really sure what to do to get the phone working. Any help would be great.

    1. Thanks Karl,

Since a setting has been changed on the device, try restoring it back to factory default settings.

This should fix your setting issue, and get the device working again. If not, then you may need to replace your SIM card reader in order to get your device running again.

  143. my lg g2 has one issue the other party cant hear my voice but if i put it on loudspeaker then they can hear my voice but without loudspeaker my voice cant be heard by other party.

This only happened when phone was upgraded to android 4.4.2 kitkat, if phone is downgraded back to jellybean will this solve the issue. i have read online this has happened to quite a few people.

  144. I have an LG G2- It was dropped and the screen-digitizer needed to be replaced. I took it to my regular phone guy, and after the new screen was installed I have no WIFI or Bluetooth. They do not know what to do to fix it. Everything else seems to work but only phone portion- When you go to the settings menu, and switch on WIFI and BLUETOOTH, then go on... then about 2 seconds later, they switch off. I know there is a cable or something attached to the screen. But so far they are stumped. CAN YOU HELP!!! Desperate for my phone in Phoenix.

    1. Thanks Bryan,

Try restoring your device back to factory default settings. Sometimes phones can have odd software bugs due to repairs (not that your phone guy did anything wrong; phones just do weird things).

If the restore does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace your main flex cable inside your G2. This device has one central flex cable that controls almost every main function inside your device. It is very common for this flex cable to be damaged during the same event that caused your screen to need replacement as there is no protective cover over it.

Replace this main flex, and you should be set.

  145. My lg g2 has gone black...it is on but I cannot see anything and when I try to unlock it I can hear it but cant see it..I really need my phone.thankyou and please help.

    1. Thanks Brandi,

Depending on what happened leading up to the screen going out, you may just need a new screen on your device.

We have DIY repair kits available right here online, or you can mail in your device for repair with one of our technicians at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  146. Hi, I agreed to something on my phone a.d now all my contacts don't show up. All I see is the number on my messages but when I type it in to call, the name pops up but it's not in my contacts. What I did was rewrite the contact name but now I have two of each contact when I call. What can I do? Please help

    1. Thanks Sindy,

Sounds like a virus got on your device.

Android devices use software that is very similar to most computers, and as a result, folks have generated viruses to specifically target phones. Normally, you can clear this off by restoring your device back to factory default settings. Once the restore is done, the issue should be gone. If it is not, then this may be some sort of firmware error (part of the code that cannot be fixed). From there we suggest talking to your service provider or LG to see what they can do on their end.

If the issue clears with the reset, then we suggest loading an anti-virus program on your phone immediately after. Avast and Norton both have free versions for Android devices.

  147. Just replaced my lcd and digitizer, everything went well until i lock my phone, when i lock or let the screen sleep and i turn it back on the screen is white, if i restart (soft reset it comes back up. what do you think the problem is?

    1. Thanks Omard,

Since the soft reset is not working, it is likely not software related, but could be a couple of things:
1.) You may just have a bad screen. We suggest contacting your source for the parts, and see if this is an issue they are aware of. If so, then they will have a solution, or they may be able to just get you a replacement screen for your...replacement screen.
2.) Your main flex cable may have been damaged during the event that caused your screen to need replacement. While opening your device to check the screen, double check this internal cable (has your charge port on it, and is "L" shaped). If this part shows any signs of damage, replacing this may solve the issue as well.

  148. Hi,
i installed a new scree and 20% of the screen is all black (on the right)
touch work fine on that part, could it be a bad screen or something wrong in the installation?
BTW the colors on that screen are not that good also.
I bought similar screen from same supplier and it was like original.
    Thanks

    1. Thanks Omar,

Without seeing the device, it is tough to say what is going on exactly, but it sounds like you have a bad screen or loose connection.

Open your device, and double check every cable to make sure they are secure. A partially unplugged cable can cause a partially blacked out screen. If everything looks good, then contact your source for the parts, and see what they can do to get you a replacement part.

  149. My problem is probably unique. My LG G2 won't charge from external battery packs. When I plug it in, it starts charging but after 20-30 seconds charging stops. The weirdest thing is that after this happens the battery pack won't work on any other device unless I plug it in a USB port for couple of seconds. I tried battery packs from remax, genius, xwave and intex and all of them work fine with any other device but when connected to my G2 I have the same problem. I also tested all of them on an other G2 with no problems. Thank you in advance. Please help.

    1. Thanks Nemanja,

Sounds like your device has a bad charge port.

This would explain why it works on other devices/G2s, but not yours. Once you replace your charge port, your device should be good to go.

  150. My son was playing with my phone and seems to have wiped my entire phone clean, like a factory reset I guess.
Please, is there anyway to restore all my contacts, pictures, videos, and apps????

    1. Thanks Vanessa,

      Sadly no.

Once the information has been wiped from the device, it is gone for good.

  151. my lg g2 has one problem the other party cant hear my voice but if i put it on loudspeaker then they can hear my voice but without loudspeaker my voice cant be heard by other party.

This only happened when phone was upgraded to android 4.4.2 kitkat, if phone is downgraded back to jellybean will this solve the issue. i have read online this has happened to quite a few people.

    1. Thanks Nasir,

The revert may solve this, but not likely.

Restore your device back to factory default settings. If the problem persists after the restore, then this is a firm ware failure, and your best option will be to get a new phone all together; or you can just use your device with this quirk.

  152. Weird question, I lost the single black screw on the LG G2, I wondered if there's anything special about that screw compared to the silver ones that would affect the functionality of the phone? I replaced the battery and flex cable assembly and it still won't power up at all though now it gets warm after I charge it for a while.

    1. Thanks Drune,

Every screw is important in a device.

They can control numerous functions (Cell signal/WiFi/power), and they also prevent future problems with your device should it get dropped.

Since your new battery is not working, it is likely there is something wrong with the main motherboard of your device in addition to your battery going south.

We suggest getting your device into a technician for diagnostic testing at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  153. Hi,

My LG G2 Screen freaks out for no reason and it ghost touches things on the screen. Any fix?

    1. Thanks Parker,

Start with restoring your device to factory default settings.

This could be an internal glitch. Should the restore not fix the issue, then you will need to replace your entire screen.

  154. Hmm.. I may be overusing my phone.
Ever since I got my phone it's been working fine. I'm one of those people that LOVE draining battery life quickly. At first, the battery life was huge. It lasted a long time, but, at one point, it kept getting shorter.
I've also noticed that when I'm using it, rarely, it stops. Just stops responding, and then colors overtake the entire screen(random ones, no pattern at all) and the system restarts/reboots, and then when I start again, it works fine. I thought it was just it getting overused and just saving its own life, sure, I couldn't do anything about it.
Now, one day, I put the phone to charge for the night. It was at a pretty high percentage, but I can't really remove it overnight when I'm sleeping. I woke up to get it and it didn't respond. At all. Black screen. A l w a y s.
I've tried most of the recommendations to start it, but, to no avail. Well, I got desperate. I did a really stupid thing to it. Since the SIM card only gets removed with a tool that comes with the phone, and I lost it, I used manual labor. A pen. At one point I did get the SIM card out, but two things happened. There's a dent in the back cover now, and the pen point broke inside the SIM card and all I'm hoping is that the ink didn't damage the parts inside there.
God, I'm dumb. Right now, I'm leaving it charging in the hopes it'll resurrect tomorrow. Is there anything I can do to recover it? Please help.
Thanks for the taking the time to read it. I know it's long.

    1. Thanks Mark,

You are correct in stating that your device was getting over used, hence the short battery life.

Devices will develop software glitches if not shut down at least once a day for a bit. These glitches and background apps will suck your battery down. Overtime, the frequent recharges on the battery will cause the battery to wear out. Based on your description, you most likely just need a new battery, and your device will be good to go. It is possible that your battery shorted out during the night or overheated and caused your screen to burnout, but either way, it's best to replace the battery first as this is the likely problem.

Now the bit with the pen: we suggest getting your device in to a technician for a good cleaning. Ink is not likely to cause internal issues in your device, but as phones get warm with use, the ink will re-liquify and move around. This can cause problems. You can mail in your device for a technician to clean and/or repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  155. Hey guys
This morning i tried to switch on my phone (lg g2 d802) while it was charging( was off from the day before), it usually works fine. But this time the phone couldn't restart. On screen the phone displays that battery mark showing the phone is fully charged but when i press the power button the display is dimmed and lights the LED as if the phone is switching on. After an hour the battery dropped to 2% but I still couldn't turn it on. Could u guys help

    1. Thanks fnjel12,

Sounds like either you battery has just gone bad, or your screen had a short while charging.

Either way, start with replacing the battery as this is the most likely of the problems. You are still getting an image, so the battery is likely not sending out a strong enough signal to power the device anymore. The battery repair can be done on your own, but we suggest getting your device in for a technician to repair at: www.phonedoctors.com/mail.

  156. hello guys
I have broken my screen and recently switched with new screen.I repearied all by myself with a tutorial video.when I finish progress I opened the screen there were big stripes.I reopened phone and realize little connection near digitizer wasnt touching at all.that part is sticking with a glue .I tried to push little harder and reopened again .when I opend there wasnt that big stripes .but at homescreen it was going crazy.strangely when I open settings, facebook screen was stable .only when I am at facebook it just crazy.what can I do about it.there isnt any failure with touch screen, sometimes its all functional as example calling screen,fb but its going crazy when I go to homescreen.I tried hard reset.didnt fix.sorry for english. Please help

  157. My girlfriend dropped her G2 and smashed the screen, and digitizer. I replaced the lcd and digitizer and everything worked perfectly, except it would detect cellular networks and never have sufficient reception to actually connect. I tried her SIM card in my phone, it connected immediately, so I cleaned and ensured all connectors were attached properly, still wouldn't connect. ordered a new main flex cable ,I installed it, and the phone connected right away with 4 bars. Unfortunately my elation was short lived, as no the digitizer isn't responding. I have checked what I believe is the digitizer connector, and cleaned it with alcohol, and I can't get any response from the digitizer

  158. Hello,

I purchased a nearly new lg g2 d800 from a friend, It was in perfect condition. I proceeded to promply drop it, shattering the screen, before I was even able to get a sim card in it.

I ordered an lcd/digitizer from ebay. I installed it, but in doing so I think I pinched one or some of the wire ribbons on the digitizer. The picture was fuzzy, and there was always a ghost of other screens on top of whatever I was trying to do. Eventually, after messing with it a fair bit, there were also lines on the screen. The scrolling and tapping features worked as they should, though.

I contacted the seller, and they sold me another at a discounted price, since I really wasn't sure whether it was defective, or my fault.

I installed the next one, and initially, I thought I was home free. The picture is superb. After messing with it for a few minutes, however, I have found that there is a band across about the middle of the screen that does not respond to scrolling, or tapping. It will also, randomly, begin acting as thought there is an invisible finger swiping and tapping all around the screen. I tried to disconnect, and re connect, the wire ribbons, and thought I fixed the portion of the screen that is dead to scrolling response. It was okay for a few minutes, but came back, and I have not been able to get it to go away again. Even while I thought that was fixed, it would still occasionally scroll and tap all around, without any input from me.

I am now somewhat doubtful of the quality of the parts I'm buying. I would love to purchase another lcd/digitizer, and fix this thing without spending a great deal more money. I don't want to throw more money at it, thought, if there is some other problem causing this. I'm tempted to send it in for repair, that way if a digitizer/lcd doesn't fix it, someone with more knowledge than I can figure that out, instead of wondering whether to just buy another part again.

I'm also tempted to just buy another phone. However, in my price range, I'd be looking used again. I've had used phones be less than promised, and I know that, if this issue were fixed, this phone is like new in every other way. Good battery, and no other strange issues.

What is you all's take on my situation? Send it in, or try it one more time, with what is known to be a quality part? (What I used was not the cheapest I could find, but it was a cheapER option)

    1. Greetings,

The "Ghost touch" effect you are running into happens when the cables are receiving electrical signals from inside the device, or are grounded. This happens occasionally with other devices such as the iPad Air and iPad Mini as well - whenever the cables touches the edge of the frame (the long, thin black cable) or if it is making contact with the board.

You will need to see if the device has any metallic debris inside that may be causing a short circuit as well as looking for raised parts. If any ESD shields are missing (they are usually flat and silvery), they normally dissipate electrical signals.

  159. Hi,

Out of curiosity I triedi to root my lg g2 d802 by installing towel root app and flashed the rom using autorec app. Being afraid of bricking I stopped risking and immediately uninstalled both of the apps. Then I noticed knock app stopped working suddenly. I had to press the power key to turn on the screen and off it as well. I am using Go launcher theme and am suspicious dat due to different theme the knock app mite have stopped working.. Would factory reset help me getting the app back to work or wat would be the possible way fix it...?

    1. I would do a factory reset.

  160. My Lg g2 touchscreen will not work. The upper half has been broken for a while now the right half is completely broken so I cant unlock my phone or anything

    1. Complete screen and frame replacement is needed. I say screen and frame because just replacing the screen sometimes you will experience the screen lifting away from the frame. We do mail in repairs at phonedoctors.com then select service tab.

  161. My LG G2 recently started experiencing a bug where the accessibility in the menu options keeps crashing. This started happening after the last update to 4.2.2 on the D80020y version I'm not sure if there's a way around this and I was trying to avoid reformatting my phone because I have stock Android and I feel that the problem will persist regardless.

    1. Greetings,

I had this same issue on my previous device, which was locked to 4.2.2. The only difference is that it happened in the Battery update. A hard reset of the device may assist in the long run, but it may be more of a case that the device is no longer able to handle the old OS, and may need to update.

  162. I recently replaced my LCD and front housing now everything works fine except when I make calls my screen blacks and I can't hang up and also the person on the other side of the phone can't hear me. What did I do wrong?

    1. Well the screen going black tells me that your proximity sensor is either bad or has something blocking it. I would remove the back housing and look at the proximity sensor. As far as them not being able to hear you you might have damaged the mic or the rubber grommet might be facing the wrong way blocking the sound from getting to the mic.

  163. hi everyone first of all im sorry for my bad english. i have lg g2 d802 one day after normal use the screen begin shake and i do restart for that and after that my phone stuck at bootloop no detect by the computer no download mode no recovery mode when i pluggin usb cable start bootloop and when ido a Quick push on the power button the buttonstill light on the rigt side and nothinkg with phone
iwonder if the problem with the battery or the motherboard or flix cabe or the power button

    1. Hi Lahcen!

It sound like it could be a mother board issue, but if you want to be sure we offer a mail in repair. They do great work and are fast at what they do. You can go to this link phonedoctors.com then click on the service tab, then click on mail in repair and fill out the form. It's that easy.

  164. hi there !

so i have this lg g2 that got dropped in water 4 months ago and never worked again that resulted in it being dumped. i have been think maybe i can get it to work again because before it was dumped some people said its battery which is the main reason its not working. if i put the phone on charger its only showing upto the stage LG and goes off again and also its showing sign of charging. so my question is can it work again after a long time(4 months) it was exposed to water and never got repaired ?

    1. Hi Tony!

We as we all know water is not good for phones and if it has been sitting for 4 months it probably has corrosion built up on the circuits. A liquid damage cleaning can be performed on the device and a new battery installed and you will have a 75% chance that it will work again. We offer these services as a mail in repair. If you go to our web site phonedoctors.com under the service tab you will see mail in repair. Just click on that and fill out the form. It's that easy.

  165. hellow everyone there
i have lg g2 d800 unlocked i am using it in pakistan ..i face the problem of signal loss on gsm carrier ,i tried to used 3g and lte on phone but the phone could not facilitate the both .my frnd send me msgz and i find those mesages 2 or 3 hours later ...even there is no signals issue in our area

    1. Hi Ajmal!

I would try a soft reset.

  166. Hello

So I am currently investigating my girlfriends LG G2 and it seemed as though there were battery issues. The battery level would drop from 100% to 85% in 5 minutes or so and completely turn off and will not pass the LG boot screen.

I have removed the battery all carefully and noticed that the back section of the battery has split open. There was an odd smell as well. Has there been a lot of issues with the G2 battery? and would replacing the battery possibly resolve the issue?

    Thanks

    1. Hi Paulie,

A new battery should fix the problem. You can get a new one at phonedoctors.com

  167. Hello,

I got new LG G2. But when I tried to charge it first time, it was showing 2 batteries sign. When I tried to on it, It showed "Invalid Battery" message and turned off by itself. What Can I do?

    Please Help.

    Thanks,
    Hakoo.

    1. Hi HDesai1

I would take the device back it seems as though it has some software issues.

  168. I have problem with my lgg2 phone. Sometimes after I wake up my phone the screen will be graytones/white blurry with stripes. Sometimes the screen will be full colored after a short periot of time. But I can allways fix it back puting haedphone jack or charger in input.

    1. Hi Jon!
I am sorry but I would have to see the device to trouble shoot it. From what you are telling me it could be a battery issue or it could be a hardware issue can go to phonedoctors.com click on the service tab then click on the mail in repair tab and the web site will walk you through getting it to us.

  169. I just got my g2 whole screen fixed by a shop that has great reviews in my city and there was an option to get it a different color so I chose white on the black g2. So I got it back today and I just noticed that the screen is not flush with the phone on how it uses to be even when I gave it to the store cracked. The screen was never like this. Could it be something that I did?

    1. Hi Robert!
No you did not do anything wrong. This is a common problem with the G2. We won't replace just the screen for that very reason. The adhesive that is used to put the lens back on just does not hold. We only use a screen with frame combo to prevent this issue...We can do that for you as a mail in repair we will also allow you to pick the color..Go to phonedoctors.com and under the service tab select mail in repair.

  170. Hi! I had dropped my phone which damaged my LCD screen. I had it repaired but now i can't double tap my screen for it to come on. I have to press the power button several times for my screen to light up. I also am having problems when I make calls. Sometimes my screen goes black before I even put the phone to my ear which makes it hard for me to hang up cause my screen is black.

    1. Hi Ty!
It sounds like a couple of different issues one of which is the proximity sensor. We can fix these issues through our mail in repair at phonedoctors.com under the srevice tab.

  171. My mobile network is not highlighted and hasn't really been for some time, what do I do?

    1. High Confused!
You need to go to your carrier and have your network re-provisioned.

  172. Hi -

My LG G2 intermittently goes into hardware key mode and displays a message that my LCD appears to be damaged. There is no visible damage to the screen and it has never been wet. If I press the back arrow button the display goes back to normal. This happens somewhat randomly, sometimes with an incoming call, other times when I hit the back button to wake up the phone out of standby mode. Otherwise the screen seems to be functioning normally. Any suggestions?

    Bill

    1. Hi Bill!
It sounds like it could be a loose connection. That would be the first thing I check. We offer mail in repairs at phonedoctors.com if you do not want to attempt this repair your self.

  173. Hi,
Thanks to a conversation with Jeff on this site I fixed my color problem. An adjustment was accidentally changed under accessibility in settings and it was a simple fix.
    Thanks Jeff!
    Spike

    1. Hi Spike!

We are glad you got your device working properly. Your comments have been shared with Jeff and our management team. We appreciate your feedback! ;)

  174. My LG G2 is bearly a month old. d802 signal goes off randomly and stays for days before coming back. even though i am sure theres full signal in the area using my S3 phone. when i insert another sim from a different network company its still same. i have hard reset. and even flash a new stock firmware still same. comes back when ever. I didnt drop my phone. I just came back from a trip to a remote part of the country and all this issue start when i got back... Please help

    1. Hi John!
It sound like a provisioning issue to me but you can mail it in to use and we can do a diagnostics on it and find the issue. Just go to phonedoctors.com under the service tab you will see mail in repair click on that and it will walk you through the rest.

  175. Sometimes my top quarter of my screen stops working. This happens only under my status bar though, I can still pull down my status bar but below it, it just doesn't work. Ive been using an app called headsup notifications recently and I noticed the notifications were appearing below that quarter of the screen where I couldn't touch. So my screen was shifted down?? Not physically?? I don't understand what's going on. My phone is rooted but I'm not sure if that has much to do with it. This is fixed with a quick reboot but its very annoying because it keeps happening. Most of the times this happen s when I open the google play store. Maybe it has something to do with that?

    1. Hi Kameron!
I would say that it is a software issue. If it is fixed with a reboot of the device that tells me that it has everything to do with your software. I would try resetting it back to factory if you can and see if that resolves the issue if it does then you know there is a problem with the rooting.

  176. I am having an issue with my LG G2. In the last couple of days it has been going nuts in hitting the back arrow button on the home screen as well as hitting the home button on its own. I have tried soft resetting and I have tried operating in Safe Mode. I wanted to check to see if there are any other options before I go to the hard reset. Thanks

  177. My LG G2 has been having a lot of problems. First of all it randomly reboots. I've pinpointed that it does this everytime it recieves the notification of a new app update. Another thing is my phone has stopped connecting to wifi and 4g. It just keeps changing over and over again. Lastly the battery has had a significant decrease and random temperature. For no reason at all my phone will hea up in my pocket. Please help me. I have tried everything I can think of except factory reseting my phone. By the way if i backed my as pps and everything would i be able to recover them after a hard reset? Thanks

    1. Hi Matthew!
Yes you will be able to restore your back up also I would recommend a factory reset.

  178. Hi
My LG G2 says it is charging but never passes 70% so I can leave for hours and never changes the percentage, I have tried changing different chargers and does not work, also restart and nothing, all this started when fully discharged and turn off, spent time unlit and without responding to the charger until by some state of firmware update but not upgrade nothing, then I could turn it on and had loaded a bit but no more.

    1. Hi Sam!
It sounds like you need a new battery. You can order a new one at phonedoctors.com.

  179. Hi, i just replaced my lcd and digitizer and am having a strange issue. The thing boots fine and everythings great until the screen turns off, after which i get vertical grey/black/white lines similar(but distinct) to when the lcd was broken, except there is no visible part of the background, and theres no damage to the lcd. There is still response from the digitizer during these occurences and doubletap to wake will still work. The issue can be duplicated at will, and at every hard reset, the screen works again until put to sleep

    1. Hi John.
Well it sounds like you have an issue with the logic board or it is a bad connection. We offer a diagnostic for 39.99 as a mail in repair at phone doctors.com under the service tab.

  180. Hi!
I have a G2 that's about a year old, and it has worked perfectly. About a week ago I dropped it, but I couldn't see any damage. After a while I noticed that the picture was kind of fuzzy and that I could see burnt in marks of other screens that recently had been open, and everything on the screen looks kind of faintly stretched out and have shadows. This gets better if I turn the screen off and back on or if I turn down the brightness. Is the lcd screen broken? The glass doesn't have a scratch.
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Signe!
Yes your LCD has been damaged. We offer that repair as a mail in repair at phone doctors.com under the service tab.

  181. I just replaced the digitizer of my lg g2, but the knock on feature doesn't work.

    1. Hi Dave!
I would look at the connections again most times you will find one not sitting down right. If you can't fix it we offer mail in repair at phone docotrs.com under the service tab.

  182. I replaced screen that went black no problem, works great, only problem is no sound from the loudspeaker, no music, no notifications, no call sounds. When earplugs are put in i can hear fine. Checked settings.... The speakers worked before repair, do you think I did something wrong, checked all connections, please help

    1. Hi Dawn!
Yes something went wrong and without knowing what device you have it will be hard for me to guide you.

  183. Hey!
I've been using my phone for like a year and today all of a sudden there appeared a problem. While I'm calling someone it seems that although i can hear them, they can not hear a word I'm saying. The voice recorder works perfectly fine, but when I make a call, there is always the same problem. Thanks for your help!

    1. Hi Ozmo!
Well with out knowing what device you have it is hard to say. I will say that some devices have multiple Mics and they use different mics depending on the function. You might have a bad mic. We offer that repair as a mail in repair at this link ( )

  184. I've had Pandora on my phone since I bought the G2's when they first came out. Now all of a sudden it won't work. It's like it's muted and only the commercials in between songs have sound. A few times I've forgotten I opened it and 4 hours later it starts working. I've uninstalled the app, cleared the cache and rebooted my phone and nothing works. The app itself seems to work, there's just no sound while playing songs. The sound on my phone works great, no problems anywhere else. What is going on?

    1. Hi Janey!
This is a pandora issue not an issue with your device. I would email pandora.

  185. I have a Nokia Lumia 928. Shortly after cracking the screen, the display started to fade to black. I was able to purchase a screen/digitizer on ebay. I followed a tutorial video on YouTube and switched out the broken screen. The unit powers on an appears to function normally, however the phone displays a sim card error/no sim card message.(I have Verizon service) I am unable to make calls or text, but I can connect to the internet.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Hi Rich!
It sounds like you might have either damaged your Sim card reader or did not get the connection seated properly. If you can not figure it out we offer mail in repairs at Phonedoctors.com under the services tab.

  186. Hi my lg g2 keeps disconnecting from the mobile network, especially inside building,
i never get 4g network, although other phones had (with my sim), i usually get only edge (e)
data connection. changed several roms , the problem remains

    1. Hi Amir!
There are several things that could cause this issue. The first thing I would try is getting your service provider to re-provision your network settings.

  187. Hey i cracked my screen today eith case on.it lol and now nothing works and it randomly clicks everything but nothinh i want but it keeps going to hard key settings says press up n down with the volume and press power to say ok wel the up down work.just fine but when press power for ok it locks the screen every time please help

    1. Hi Author!
You will need to have a new screen put on your device. We offer mail in repairs at this link

  188. hello, I have an old LG-E980 everything is working on the phone except for the bluetooth, I have reset the phone back to factory default, but nothing seems to work, is there away to to change on the bluetooth Antenna or Chip? if so the how do get a board spec that outlines where this chip or antenna is located.

    thanks

    1. Hi PBB!
To get the specs you would have to contact LG.

  189. I just replaced the LCD/digitizer on my LG G2 and the screen is completely black. I tried the soft reset and that didn't work. I don't know how to fix this

    1. Hi Tleclair!
This could be a couple of things. Either you have a bad connection or a bad screen. We can offer you that repair as a mail in repair so you have the piece of mind knowing that your device is being worked on by a certified technician. Just click on this link .

  190. I recently changed digitizer and LCD on my LG G2. Works great but for one thing. The screen brightness doesn't increase after 45%. Fine at night but I can't see the screen outside in sunlight. I did a factory reset hoping it was a software issue. No good result. Not set on auto. At 100% you can slide your finger to 45% before you see a change in brightness. Is it a bad LCD? I hate to buy another screen and it happen again....the diminishing return problem.....

    1. Hi William!
It sounds like it could be a screen issue. If you would like to have a certified technician look at it for you we offer a mail in repair at this link . We have several parts that we can trouble shot the issue with and get it fixed.

  191. I have looked up this issue all over google and have yet to find a solution. My problem is that when I connect my phone to Wi-Fi or data my phone dies. It mostly happens when my battery is below 60 or 40 percent, but still above 20. It won't turn back on when I attempt to hold down the power button. It turns on to my lock screen and keeps loading the time, then shut back off. Sometimes, it doesn't even make it to my lock screen and it shut back off after the Verizon white screen. I don't know what the culprit is, I've attempted to reset my phonevery, bit has been no change. Help?

    1. Hi Annoyed and Confused!
Let me take the confusion away. You more than likely have a defective battery. Go to phonedoctors.com and you will be able to to find the part you need.

  192. I cracked the bottom left corner of my phone, and now the bottom part of the phone is not working. I can't get in my phone because I need the bottom half to put in my password! This is the second day, and i have NO idea what to do. Please help!!

    1. Hi Niyah!
Well as I do not know what device you have it is hard for me to direct you correctly. How ever I will say that we offer a very good mail in repair service just click on this link to get started.

  193. Hey.
My lg g2 changes home screen background whenever i go to the battery settings. I also have had some problems that the battery is going down verry fast.
Do i have to factory reset the phone?

    1. Hi Arinda Uglum!
Well this is a tough one to answer. You could have a couple of different issues. The first one that stands out to me is the battery draining very fast. This could be a bad battery or apps running in the back ground draining the battery. If a battery is not putting out the proper amount of power to the device it can cause issues like poor battery life. A factory reset could also fix the issue as this could also be related to corrupted software. If you would like a certified technician to look at it for you we offer a mail in repair at this link .

  194. Hey Guys i hope u can help me please, i Changed my Display from my G2 i starting Up but the Device is very slow like a 486er PC ... I run Hardware reset but the Problem is still there

DO u have any Ideas ?

    regards Chris

    1. Hi Chris!
Well the only thing that I could even think of is that you need to do a factory reset on your device. Normally slow running means a lack of ram which means you have apps that are running in the back ground or software issues.

  195. I was wondering if anyone could help me find a solution to my problem. I dropped my LG G2 on the floor and it froze. I wasn't able to get it to respond to touch so I held the power button and turned it off, but now it wont turn back on. Is it something wrong with my battery or something else that I'm not aware of? plz reply

    1. Hi Parris!
There are several things that could be causing this issue. It would really be better if you were to take it to a repair technician and let them run a diagnostic on the device. If you do not have one local we offer mail in repairs at this link

  196. Hello,

I just upgraded my LG G2 (D802) handset through LG PC Suite from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2. The upgrade was huge approximately 1.4GB and went successful. But after the update, the touchscreen is not responding properly. I have to tap above or below or on a side of a button to get the action. It took me 4 hours approximately to bring the phone through the start up process. Secondly the SIM service is also disabled that was working properly before the update.

Could you suggest what i should do. I am thinking of caliberating the screen or reverting back to the 4.2.2 firmware.

    Regards,

    1. Hi Rizwan!
You are on the right track. I would recalibrate the screen and you might want to make sure all of your network settings are correct. You can contact your service provider and they can walk you through that. If all that does not work then I would revert software back to 4.2.2 until the bugs are fixed.

  197. Hi, Please i would like some help please. I got an new Lg g2 and i had barely used it for 3months when the screen started having issues. It had never fallen but flickering horizontal lines appeared on the screen and it appeared the screen was being pulled upwards, at first it was manageable but later more than half the screen had being "pulled up" and it was difficult to see icons. I do not have a warranty as i got it of ebay and my local repairer isn't quite sure what to make of it,. i have already attempted both soft and hard reset to no avail

    1. Hi Dongo!
I looked at the video and yes that is a common issue. Although that issue is normally something that happens when the LCD/Digitizer has been replaced. Since you bought it off of Ebay that is the first thing I would try is to replace or test a new screen on your device. If that does not work then it is probably a software issue and a factory reset should fix the issue. If your local repair technician does not feel comfortable doing the diagnostics on your device then you can send it to us through our mail in repair just by clicking on this link and filling a form.

  198. Hi i just commented a few minutes ago . I just found a link that shows exactly the problem of my phone atleast how it was when the problem started until it got worse

    1. As I said before this is common with screen replacements. It is a sign of a manufacture defect in the screen.

  199. oops, looks like i forgot to put the link to the video This is the link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q49Yf7inuiw

    1. Thank you Dongo.
This help me to understand the issue you were having.

  200. Greetings!,
I dropped my lg g2 a while ago and just replaced the touch screen and digitizer,
All repairs are done and I am not getting any external sound. Phone speaker works fine but no ring tone or other media sounds. They worked with old cracked screen so I know they werent damaged in original drop. Its as if theres a switch that has turned it off. I have checked all settings and rerepaired the phone and still nothing.
    Please advise??
    Thank ya kindly!

    1. Hi Gail
Check out this link it should lead you to the resolution.

      1. I am having this exact same problem as Gail with no sound coming from my external speaker . however I cannot see the link you posted with the answer to the problem. Could you please email me the link?

        1. Hi Breanna
I do apologize. I recommend you have a diagnostics run on your device we can do that as a mail in repair at PHONEDOCTORS.com under mail in repair. If you want to try to avoid sending it in you can try backing up the device and resetting it back to factory to see if it is an app that is causing the issue.

  201. There's a certain spot on my LG G2 screen that won't work but at random times like about once a day, that spot will work. I can't use my letter between 'X' and 'V,' I would put the actual letter if I can. When I want to use the letter, I have to spell the word wrong so the right word pops up. Also a part of my space bar won't work either. I can't get to my animal emojis since it's in that area of the screen. I was also having a bit of glitches while typing this. What I mean by glitches, like random letters from the other side of the keyboard will pop up, and when I tried to erase a word, the word behind it will pop up again. I've tried turning it off and back on see if anything would happen but nothing did. What should I do?

    1. Hi Tabatha
It sounds like your digitizer is going bad. We offer that repair as a mail in repair at this link

  202. My G2 will not boot. Screen is just black and the led changes back and forth from blue to green. I've tried hard reseting it with the volume down and power button and try getting it into boot mode with the volume up button and plugging it into my pc. The screen does nothing during all of this. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery doesn't change anything.

    1. Hi Lil,
You will probably need to have the screen replace. If you would like to do the repair click on this link and you can order the part. If you would like us to do the repair fr you click this link

  203. My LG G2 phone isn't turning on. I have it sitting on the charger, and it powered off, but now it keeps flashing at the LG screen and cutting off again. It doesn't even turn back on to the home screen. It just sits there flashing until it gives up, then the red LED light will start flashing for a few seconds before repeating the same process again. It's been doing this for a full hour when it should've been charging this entire time.

    1. Hi Ama
This could be a couple of different issues, but the first thing that I would do is to replace the battery. I would recommend having a technician do this repair as this is difficult to do if you have never don this repair before. Click this link to have a certified repair technician do the work for you.

      1. Now it seems that it doesn't even want to turn back on. I left it alone the night after I posted this comment and it went back to normal, but now it keeps flashing the LG screen before cutting off.

        1. Hi Ama!
It sounds like you might have a bad battery. You can buy a new one at this web site PHONEDOCTORS.com. Or if you would like you can mail in your device and we can fix that for you just click on this link

  204. Hello again,
My previous comment shouldve included that the proximity sensor doesnt work either. So now after the original drop and cracked screen, I could get the lock screen to barely swipe and it had sound but none of the screen would work, but it did have full display. Now after the initial repair, most everything works except for a very important couple of things: the proximity sensor blacks out on calls and will not come back. Some calls will not go through at all. No sound out of loudspeaker. No ringtone, music or speaker function on calls. When I call a phone that is on my plan I see now and again it will light up but the speaker option is lit, when I click that off the whole call quits, I cant hear anything, its like it has muted and it goes black and I can do nothing till the other person hangs up, then I must power off and back on, is it junk now or what might I do? I have taken it apart now three times and put it back and ordered a new loud speaker. I hope I havent wasted all this money.
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Gail!
I would love to be able to tell you exactly where to go and what to fix, but you have several issues that may or may not be related. What I can offer if you want to mail in your device and have a certified technician look at your device we offer mail in repair at this link . We can do a diagnostics on the device for 29.99 and if we can find the issue and repair the device for you we will apply the 29.99 to the repair cost.

  205. I own a lg g2 D802. A few months ago, i started experiencing the flickering and the jumping of my display. Next the bottom part of the screen became fully static but fully functional. After a factory rest, the static got worst and made its way up the screen until the entire screen was static.Eventually, the screen stopped showing altogether, the backlight lights up but it doesn't show anything. Still the screen is functional but it is pure black, the back light can be seen as the screen lights up but it us purely black.

    1. Hi Keanu Carbon
It sounds like your LCD has gone out you can either order the part from this link . Or if you would like a certified technician to do the repair for you click on this link .

      1. i carried it to fix and they said the same, but they recently called me and told me that it could not be fixed with any reasoning.

        1. Hi Keanu!
Well the only thing that i can offer at this point is our mail in repair. We can do a diagnostic for 29.99 plus shipping if we can fix the device we will apply the 29.99 towards the repair cost if we can not fix the device you will only be out the 29.99 and we will ship the device back to you with an explanation of the problem. To get started click on this link

  206. Thank you Brian, I will do that.

  207. I just bought a used LG G2 VS 980. It is running 4.4.2 Andriod. I do not know it's history. The notification LED does not work. (for text messages, phone plugged in charging, missed calls) It is turned on in the settings and everything is checked to be on. I have factory reset the phone 2 times and made sure that settings and apps weren't automatically put back on. Any ideas?

    1. Also the phone doesn't seem to have water damage. The water sticker looks fine. The proximity sensor may not be working as well because when i made a call and put the phone to my face the screen didn't go off. As far as I know everything else is working properly.

      1. Hi Mike
Well it sounds like the device might have had the screen replaced. You might want to take the device apart and check the connections for these parts and verify that they are connected correctly and they are not damaged. We offer this as a mail in repair at this link

    2. See earlier reply

  208. When texting a person all of the messages I have sent are grouped together and all of the senders messages are together instead of being a back and forth conversation. Is there anyway to fix this?? It is really annoying.

    1. Hi Heather
Before I could begin to help I would need to know what device you have.

  209. Hi Teezy
Your Sim reader is more than likely gone bad. You might try a factory reset and see if that helps if not it will need to be replaced. We offer that as a mail in repair at this link

  210. Hello,I recently dropped my phone and cracked the screen and broke the digitizer. I.I just recently got the screen and digitizer replaced and cracked my phone two more times, turns out my wallet's buttons where the problem. So,it was working perfectly fine with the two cracks on it,but randomly recently the screen started going black when I touched the bottom half of the screen, but the led was still flashing and I could still unlock it and it would vibrate and everything,so the screen worked,it was just black.but I managed to still use my phone for a few days soft resetting it whenever it went black, but know it wont even show the logo anymore it sort of fades out and in and then the screen goes black again and sometimes I see multiple colors over the entire screen for a few seconds and it then goes black.By the way I got it repaired at a local phone repair shop.

    1. Hi Terrence
Well unfortunately it sounds like you need a new screen. If this is something that you are not ready to do yet because you just replaced the screen the only other thing you can do is pull the device apart and see if the connection has come loose.

  211. Hi, I recently had the flex cable in my LG g2 d802 replaced due to a broken headphone jack, when reassempled the speaker no longer works. I think the magnet in the speaker attracted the screws to itself on deassembly would this break the speaker do you think?

    1. Hi Liam
No this would not cause a problem. You need to check all the connections again because one of them is not seated correctly.

  212. Hi i had gotten my lcd&digitizer changed 2 months ago and now the lowest part of the screen is not working. additionally if i need to do anything with my phone i have to press the screen and hold for around 2-3 seconds before it responds. Can you help me solve this issue? It is no longer covered with warranty.

    1. Hi Rach
I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue. You will have to replace the screen again though as the one you have is bad. I understand the warranty is out on that screen but we offer the same repair as a mail in repair and it comes with a 180 day warranty. Just click this link to get started.

  213. The headphone icon is on the top of the screen without headphones being plugged in which does not allow me to speak on the phone and the other person hear me, unless I actually plug the headphones in. I've soft booted a couple times and still not working, what do I do?

    1. Hi Joe
You need to have the headset jack replaced. We offer that as a mail in repair at this link

  214. Well...I have two g2s.
    1. I replaced the front glass/lcd assembly and it went smoothly. All screws were in same spot, all parts reinstalled correctly, and everything exactly as they were before.
On the initial power up, no response, I have test a different battery to finally get the phone back up and functioning. all is well until the phone is turned off by owners son, "because its not reading his sd card"
When they try to power the phone back on, nothing.they try to charge it. nothing. I disassemble replacing battery, charging port, and anything else i can think of; one by one. The phone does not turn on, does not recognize and started getting a little hot (after first 2 reassemblies)I can not figure out what could have gone wrong or what can be done.
The last attempt was to put my other g2 motherboard in [ (stuck in safe mode) 2nd g2 ] and was surprised to see the phone functioning again.
I have narrowed the problem down to logic board, but....what do you think caused it? Any hope?

    2nd G2:
I have tried every possible way I can think of the get this G2 out of safe mode.
Ive tried soft, hard, power, battery, and after this headache...a completly different phone.
    any suggestions?

    1. Hi Daps1
Well you have experienced what a lot of technicians have experienced when doing repairs on G2's. The only thing that I can think of is that you have had an ESD ( Electrical static discharge ) go through the device. I have yet to find a way to recover the device once this has happened. I would try to connect it to the computer and see if the computer can even see the device. If the computer can see the device then there might be hope.

  215. I've recently replaced the whole touch screen unit of my lg g2, today i put my phone on charging at didn't went passed 2% , so i switched it off.. but when i tried to turn it back on it wont start, what should i do to have it working again..i'm so worried , i've recently unlocked it tooo..

    1. Hi Usmanshah
I understand your concern. The first thing I would do is check to make sure the battery is connected properly. The second thing is that it could be a bad battery. If you need the new battery we sell those at PHONEDOCTORS.com it will come with a 180day warranty.

  216. My son dropped my phone in the bathtub for a sec 2 days ago and it was on for several hours until I noticed it kept saying headphones were plugged in when they weren't and I turned it on and off trying to fix it and even charged it cause the battery was on 2%. Well later I got the cover off and took off the back and noticed some water inside it not a whole lot but a little. I took the back off and set in rice for 16 hrs then turned it on and it makes all the noise like everything is working fine but the screen is black. The touch even works but screen won't show nothing. I found a used phone I can buy but my main concern is trying to recover my pics and videos if possible.

    1. Hi Sarah
Well I would need to know what type of device's you have before I can even start to walk you through backing up and transferring info from one device to the other.

  217. I cant find an answer for this one, My LG G2 has a snowy display, I cant figure it out. The display is not showing any lines, and for the snow, perfectly clear.... see a picture here...

    http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-lg-g2/502951-can-i-recover-lg-g2-snow-all-over.html

ANY idea, this is driving me nuts and I cant figure it out...

    1. Hi Dave
This is a good one. It does not seem like a software issue from what you explained and I assume that you have done all of the normal trouble shooting like disconnecting and reconnecting all connections. So I would get another screen and see if that fixes it.

      1. I ordered the cable that does the power, headphones and connections to the display. I will try that first, if that does not fix it, then a replacement display would be something to try.

Feeling that it's not the display, due to showing full video (even though it's snow) and the touch part does work.

I've tried to replace the display in a LG G2 2 times now, and I can never get it to stick right.

  218. My LG G2 goes on screen blackout while connected with a sony tv via miracast. My phone was on the state of battery low (around 8%) then the screen just suddenly turn black. I can't open now the phone and it was the first time that this type of problem occurs. Somebody who could probably help me with my problem?
    Many thanks!

    1. Hi Francis
Well the first thing I would try is put the device on the charger for a few hours and let it charge. If that does not work then getting a new battery would be the next step. You can try to replace the battery your self but know that it does require removing parts of the logic board. If you don't want to try a DIY battery in stall we offer a mail in repair at this link If you would like to DIY the battery replacement go to PHONEDOCTORS.com and you can order any part you need.

  219. Hi,

My G2 rear camera shows a little dot when I take pictures. Pictures look the same in other devices so I don't think is the screen. I've already replaced the camera cover with no result. I tried replacing the rear camera but when I turn my device back on it only shoes me the front camera, if I try to switch to the back one it blinks and shows me the front one again. Any ideas of what might be happening?

    Thanks

    1. Hi Dalgis
It sounds like you have a bad camera I would check the connections first and if that does not work then I would replace the camera.

  220. Hey dudes,

My phone froze up so I performed a soft reset, after that, I turned the phone on. It was on for a total of two minutes before it froze and turned off. Now whenever I try to turn it on, the LG symbol comes on then it turns right off. I tried to do a hard reset and that didn't even work. There is no water damage to it but the LCD is damaged. Other than that the phone worked fine before. I took it to AT&T but they couldn't help..I'm hoping you guys can.

    1. Hi Cody
The best thing for your device right now is to get it to a repair shop so they can run some diagnostics. If you don't have a repair shop near you then we offer a mail in repair at this link

  221. my lg g2 d801 have poor signal reception. In a low signal area my phone dont pick up any signal and go into searching mode while my previous phone sony xperia z work perfect in all areas

    1. Signal issues are a difficult thing for us to diagnose for you, especially without having the device in hand to diagnose. I have had personal experience with one device having good signal in an area and another not. I honestly can't give you a detailed scientific reasoning for this other than simple connectivity issues with the towers. I would recommend talking to your carrier as they have more sophisticated equipment and can look at the signal strength in your area and let you know a better course of action.

  222. Hi,
I dropped the phone earlier today. The screen did not crack but half bottom of the screen is not responding at all. How do you fix this problem?

    1. Hi Soo
To fix this issue you will have to replace the screen. Here is a link that will take you right to where you need to be to get what you need.

  223. "LG G2 Touch Screen Digitizer: This is the top glass of your device, and controls your main touch function.

This screen comes with both your top digitizer and your lower LCD fused together for easy assembly."

There are two answers for the question I have and I was wondering which one is the best route. My brother broke his LG G2 screen, but the screen comes on and you can see everything but it's unresponsive to any touch on the screen. I was wondering was this just a digitizer problem or digitizer + LCD problem? Thanks!!

    1. Hi Nay
The only option is to replace both. The top glass and LCD are fused and takes great effort to remove them from one another. Here is a couple links for you one of them you can order the part and repair it. The other will get you started on sending it to use to repair for you. http://phonedoctors.com/mail-in/

  224. Hi, I have a LG G2 and recently I noticed that the back notification led around the power button is always on. From what I searched it should only light up for incoming or missed calls and the alarm. I tried switching some settings and it wouldn't turn off so I end up doing a factory reset and it also didn't work. Is there anything else I can do to put it back to normal?

    1. Hi GRCT
Well I have to ask a question first. Has the device ever been liquid damaged?

      1. No, I have the device for nearly 2 months now and it never has fallen into water or got wet. The only thing I recall doing two or three times was leaving it in the bathroom playing music while I was taking a shower.

  225. Hi, i had my entire main flex changed on LG G2 D802 to solve microphone not working problem, but
after replacement microphone is not working again, service guys suggests main board replacement,
as the microphone works just fine with speakerphone activated, but not in the normal call.

    1. Hi Marvel
This seems to be common on the LG G2. I would recommend backing up your device and restore it to factory this might clear up the issue as you have already replaced the part with no change.

  226. Okay I had dropped my g2 shattering the lower right corner. I then replace the touch screen and digitizer. Everything worked just fine until I went to place a call. My screen then would go blank and I had to reboot my phone to end the call. Also when trying to bring my phone out of sleep I would have to plug it in to get the screen to come back on. I did some research and found that others are having the same problem without having dropped the phone, on person had recomended to pinch the phone in the lower right corner, so I did now I can access the dial pad while in a call and if I turn my screen off I can only turn it back on in bright light. I know all of this may sound weird, but do you have any idea as what the problem could be??? It's driving me nuts!

    1. Hi Mandi
No this is not weird at all. You are having an issue with the proximity sensor. During the repair you have either damaged the sensor or you accidentally got something in the way of the proximity sensor. I would doing the repair again and check to make sure you have not put the adhesive over the proximity sensor.

  227. My G2 won't play sound through the right earpiece when I plug any set of headphones in. Please help!

    1. Hi Spencer
It sounds like you need to have your headset jack replaced. We offer this repair as a mail in repair at PHONEDOCTORS.com

  228. Let me start by saying I have an LG L34C Android phone.....its been sitting for a bit....i finally decided to use it as an mp3 player.....just use wifi to download my music....but the screen is locked.....and ive never locked it......its the swipe first then after 5 attempts i can put in a pin number but thats not working either......and for some reason this particular model cannot be hard reset holding the power and volume and home buttons.....plus the manual for it is wrong.......and my laptop does not reconize it when i hook it up to it..........i have all the drivers.......using hp 2000 with windows 7 ultimate.......any ideas......oh the fone doesnt lock after a few attempts....ive gone up to a 100......help......

    1. Hi Daniel
Has the device had any custom roms or anything f that nature put on the device?

  229. I recently replaced my LG G2 screen and digitizer. The phone sporadically functions perfectly (text and calls) in different areas in the community, but rarely in my home on wifi or 4G. Does this sound like the antenna may be damaged?

    1. Hi Annika
Yes I would check the antenna maybe the connection is just not very good.

  230. So I charged my phone and all that regular stuff. When I unplugged I played with it for a couple hours. I noticed that the percent, battery life, was staying at 100. It has continued to stay at 100 perfect all day. I restarted it already. But nothing has changed. So what's going on with my phone?

    1. Hi Gabby
Well it is hard to say it could be a couple of things. The first thing I would do is replace the battery to see if that is the problem. This is the cheapest and easiest repair to do. We offer this battery at PHONEDOCTORS.com

  231. I have a HTC desire 510 I replaced the front glass and the. Turned the phone on it did the block out method.. I reopened the phone and reconceted the wires now the screen will flash white one Time then go black I reopened the phone to reliaze I broke two of the copper pins off how can I fix this assuming that is my problem

    1. Hi Nakay
Well it depends where the pins broke off. If they broke off from the connector n the logic board then you will need a new one soldered on the device. If the pins broke off of the cable for the front glass then you will need to replace the front glass. We offer a mail in repair for solder work if the first is true. Just g to PHONEDOCTORS.com

  232. Hi, I dropped my phone (LG G2 D800) on an wooden floor. Now its not ringing at all. I tried restarting the phone several times. Problem still persists.

    1. Hi PSK
I would take the back cover off and make sure that the ringer is making a connection. A fall on the floor may have broken one of the pins or just simply moved the speaker enough that it is no longer making contact.

  233. Hi, it will be nice if u can solve my 2 problems on my lg g2..
    1) the earphones symbol is allways on my screen, even I unplugged them. I try to insert and plug out again and this not waorking.because of the i can hear nothing on my phone, just if i plug them in, and listen through them.
    2) when im talk on calls and switch to speaker or BT speaker or switch back to normal mode my call is drop..
Have any idea for those 2 problems?
    Thanx for all! :)

    1. Hi Eliya
The first problem is that your headset jack has gone bad and needs to be replaced. The second problem might be related to the headset jack becaus your device thinks there is a headset always plugged in. We offer this repair as a mail in repair at PHONEDOCTORS.com

  234. Hello,
I have an LG G2 and my screen started to be unresponsive in the bottom 1/3. It kept getting worse and so I replaced the screen and digitalizer. When I tried to turn on the phone again it boots up but then says it has no battery and will automatically power off. I have tried charging it but it doesn't seem to notice it is being charged. I disassembled the device again and even tried using my old screen and digitalizer again but the problem still persists.
I have been extremely careful while making all the repairs but could I have done something wrong or broken some piece?
Thank you for any help that you can give me!

    1. Hi Berta
The possibility of breaking something on this device is very possible. I would double check all of your connections and make sure they are all seated correctly. If you would like a certified technician to look at the device we offer mail in repairs at PHONEDOCTORS.com

  235. Since last month, noted that my G2 screen started to flicker when the battery is full and it will stop when battery comes around 80%. Can you figure out what the issue is.

    1. Hi
Well it sounds like your battery is starting to weaken. Your device is designed to operate off of a certain amount of power and if it not receiving the proper volts or amps it will do strange things. It sounds like your battery is surging when it is fully charged. You can rder a new one at PHONEDOCTRS.com

  236. My daughter's LG2 is having a couple of problems. When she is using an app, it just dies out on her after only a minute or two. Also, if she tries to google anything, the same thing happens. I think she had done a software update not long before this started happening. She has tried everything she can think of, short of a hard reset, to fix it (she is pretty handy with computers), but nothing has worked. Her phone is pretty much useless except for calls and texts, which doesn't help her when she's in school (sometimes they're allowed to use phones for research). Any ideas on what else to try?

    1. Hi MEB
I would do the hard reset. If this happened after an update it could be an issue with the software.

  237. Hello I have a problem that isn't mentioned on your site. My Lg G2 will get very hot and when it does so, turns off with no warning. It has happened 4 times, but the most recent time I am not able to turn my phone on at all please help me!

    1. Hi Nathan
I would replace the battery before doing anything. A battery that is going bad can cause this issue.

  238. Hello, My LG G2 has been dropped (not by me!!!) and the LCD display is not working. I have so many precious memories stored on this phone that I need to retrieve the documents before sending it off to the insurance repairers, as if the cannot replace the screen I will lose all of my photos/videos etc...
The digitiser seems to still be working but the screen shows nothing but blackness.
Is there a way of me retrieving the files?????
No one seems to be able to offer any assistance, not even LG who I have just phoned.
I had been backing up all of my photos and contacts to google, but for some reason the photos stopped backing up in February without explanation. The contacts are still syncing.
There is also a lot of content in my WHatsapp folder that I wold like to save, especially conversations with my mum who passed away earlier this year, photos of her with my baby, baby crawling videos etc..

    Please someone help!!

    1. Hi Laura
Let Me first ask. Have you connected your device to your computer to see if you can get your info that way? The only other thing that I can offer is if you send your device to us we can take and put your phones logic board into another device and save all of your pictures to an SD card and or get them backed up to your google account. If you would like us to do this for you go to PHONEDOCTORS.com and click n mail in repair it will walk you through getting your device too us.

  239. So story time: a few months after i got my phone, i thought i had broken the battery in my G2 by leaving it in my hot car. I thought it was broken because even on the wall with multiple different cables, it would charge so slowly that using it with the lowest possible power settings while plugged in would drain the battery. It ended up being all the cords, but i discovered that after I had replaced the internal battery...with a Chinese knockoff. It's all I could find, built-in batteries are usually tough find. Since then, my phone has had a problem where it dies and will not turn on until plugged in. I know it sounds like i just described the battery dying, but it will happen with full battery. The first time it happened was when using a 3d app that i assume accessed the gpu. Since then, nothing else has caused it until recently. When I take a photo in darkness, it happens. I feel like it's the combination of the flash and how much harder It seems to work when focusing in darkness. Could the battery not be up to the task? Is it worth it to replace it with an OEM battery? I did notice that when I triggered it several times in a row troubleshooting, the battery dropped by about 10% once or twice.

    1. Hi Ntravers
I dont think you have to go with OEM but I would defiantly try a new battery. Go t PHONEDOCTORS.com we very rarely have any issues with our batteries.

  240. My Lg g3 Wifi Is Stuck on "Turning on" Can you help?

    1. Hi Ambrosia
Have you tried turning ff your device and turning it back on?

  241. I just bought a new LG g2 phone and I tired using a hands free headset but it didn't work... I can hear the person but they can't hear me. I tried many different headsets and nothing worked. I know it not the headset cuz they worked in other phones... please help!!

    1. Hi Chantal
I would reset your lg Device it sounds like the headset is not making a good bluetooth connection.

  242. I dropped my LG G2 on the ground and the notification bar won't slide down. It was working right after I picked it up but a couple of hours later it stopped working... What do I do?

    1. Hi Belinda
It sounds like you have damaged the digitizer and it will need to be replaced. We offer this as a mail in repair at PHONEDOCTORS.com

  243. hi! I'm hoping someone can help. i dropped my lg g2 and it got a small crack but it still worked for a little. I
ordered the lcd and screen and repaired the phone and the touch screen had dead spots so had to return it, they gave me a replacement one. After getting that one in. i noticed there was no sound and phone started flipping out. After checking all connections, I did soft and hard reset but didn't help. I ordered a main flex, put it in and sound started working but phone was still acting weird then i noticed there was a crack in that screen. So I got another screen from a different place, the screen works fine but no sound again. I have checked and rechecked the connections, I did a soft and hard reset and still no sound. Please does anyone have a idea

    1. Hi Rhonda
I would check the actual connectors under a magnifying glass it sounds like there might be damage to the connector.

  244. I bought a used LG G2 phone that had been used on Verizon. I activated it with PagePlus. It will not make or receive calls. It will say it is dialing (no dial tone) then say it is out of service area. Then all my service bars will be gone for a few minutes. It will send and receive text msgs. Pageplus says it needs to be taken to a dealer.

    1. Hi Lesley
I would double check your settings for the carrier. If it receiving text there has to be a setting that is wrong.

  245. LG G2 Replaced Digitizer/Screen (1 piece from IpartsOutlet) First, a blinking blue light, No turn on. Then at random blinking red, vibrations, blinking blue, power button lit, still no turn on. tried reset, hard reset. Then once holding up volume and plugging in power got a screen saying download mode, then a dim Sprint screen saying update? and locked up. Never got to this screen again or any screen. even after charging 24hrs+ put it on a voltage/current monitor it was showing 1.5 amps. left it on there for maybe another 24hrs finally showing maybe .2 amps. Not my phone, they claim it holds a charge for 8hrs. Battery bad? Open it back up, check connections? Android OS issue? Have done numerous fixes for friends, this is 1st LG. (I should of never gotten into this, but I'm an electrical/software engineer and "Sure I can fix that", famous last words!!!)

    1. Hi AlanC
From what you you have described it sounds like the device is not recoverable. I would try to get back into the download mode and see if you can reinstall OS. Try this link to help you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

  246. hi,thanx for all these guidlines, i had my g2 f320 phone working pretty well and suddenly wifi and bluetooth stopped working. so i just deassembled (not fully) and reassembled it.after that error was gone for sometime and again it came. but after refixing phone and when i put the battery in,speaker gives a beeping like hissing sound and it stops when power button is pressed once.also battery drops very fast when idle and its always heated slightly even when switched off.

    1. Hi Piumi
Have you ever gotten your device wet? This sounds like water damage issues.

      1. no it didnt. i checked the circuit again big ic near the front cam is heating and it looks like melted at one edge and two chips on the circuit strip along the side also looks melted(blacked out at terminals).is it recoverable

  247. When I take my phone outside in the daylight I can't see the screen. It is there but it is so dim. I've turned the brightness up as much as it will go but it doesn't make a difference. In normal inside light the phone screen is perfect. What can I do?

    1. Hi Nichole
Some times if you reboot your device it can help. The only other thing you could do is get a mat finish screen protector to help reduce reflection and glare.

  248. I replaced the digitizer/lcd for my LG G2. The phone works great until the screen turns off (through the button or automatically) and then when trying to turn it on it either stay black, has many grey lines across it or maybe multicoloured lined. Any ideas or suggestions?

    1. Hi Indy,
I would double check your connections this is a symptom of a lose connection.

  249. Chat with Randy Evans
Hello i went to put a new screen protector on my boyfriends phone last night...after i got it on the back bottom key on his lg g2 kept on clicking by itself....so took off screen protector but its still doing it....also cant talk on the phone now unless he uses speaker phone...if he takes it off then you cant hear him....

    1. Hi Nita
It sounds like the sensor has gone out on his phone and needs to be replaced. I will ask what type of screen protector was it? Is it one that requires a liquid to be applied to the screen before installing the protector?

  250. I recently installed a new LCD screen on my LG G2, and it worked for around 12 hours, but now only the blacklight turns on, and I believe the phone functions, but it does not display it on the LCD. I made sure all connections were intact, and I don't believe my main flex cable to be broken or disconnected. Thank you.

    1. Hi CoreyA
Well first I want to say kudos on the screen replacement. This device is one of the more difficult to do. I will say the issue you are having is a common issue with the g2 when doing screen replacements. I would try looking at the connectors and make sure that they are in good shape and the jawbone is not broken. If that is all good then I would get a new screen on it.

  251. Hi I have a g2 vs980 My screen is perfectly working except the screen behind the volume up, power key, and camera. My screen from this place is not responding to touch. Sometimes my screen starts touching automatically without any touch I have heard that there is a problem of dead spots and phantom/ghost touch.. Should i replace digitizer Or both digitizer and LCD?

    1. Hi Harish
You will have to replace both as they are fused together.

  252. Hey there! My LG G2 has issues with display, as in the graphics seem to jump all over the place. I had the screen replaced, this isn't it - 100% up to date on the software, doesn't help, have done a factory data reset - still jumping. Should I just give up?

    1. Hi Julia
It could be software causing the issue but, I would check the connections and make sure they are secure.

  253. I had my screen replaced on my G2 about 10 months ago, I did get one crack in my phone about 3 months ago but everything still worked fine. Now my phone will shut off if its not plugged in, even if it is plugged in the phone shuts off sometimes and has a hard time staying on even when it is charging. I have used multiple cords and bought original cords and nothing works. The phone won't stay on for longer then 10 minutes at a time. What is wrong with it?

    1. Hi Caitlin
It sounds like you are in need of a new battery. I would take it to a local repair shop as this battery is able to be changed but requires being taken apart. We offer a mail in repair at PHONEDOCTORS.com if you do not have a local repair shop.

  254. i dropped my g2 and green horizontal lines appeared. Please help

    1. Hi Ben
Well this could be a couple things. It is either your LCD was damaged or a connector came loose. I would lean more towards the LCD being damaged. We offer that repair at PHONEDOCTORS.com

  255. Please help, my LG G2 is flickering. What would be the best remedy for this. I bought my phone two months ago. is it the LCD or the motherboard?

    1. Hi Emman
If you only bought it 2 months ago I would take it back and get a replacement device. It should be under warranty.

  256. Hi There,

I have some major issues with my G2, hopefully you can help me figure it out. It started abut a couple months ago when suddenly my phone became hot and freezing. I turned off the device and unable to turn it back on for quite some time and the phone not react when I connect the charger. After several try I finally able to restart the phone but ever since then my phone randomly restart and turn off and sometimes hard to restart/ turn back on. The battery seems normal, no over heating and no sign of leaking since the lifetime still stable. I have tried to do the hard reset it and reverse it back to original OS but not much of help. Can you figure out what went wrong with it? Thank you in advance

    1. Hi Phil
I would try a new battery the fact that you said that it was getting hot tells me the battery could be going bad which could cause the issues you are experiencing.

  257. I just replaced the battery in my LG G2 and now it will not power on at all. We have tried everything we can think of and cannot seem to figure out what the problem is...any ideas?

    1. Hello Laurie and thanks for the question.

If you've recently installed a new battery and the phone does not power on there is a chance that the new battery is completely dead and needs to be charged for longer than usual to increase the voltage enough to turn the phone on. I recommend leaving the device plugged in for a few hours and see if it comes on.

There is also a chance that the battery was not installed properly. If the battery is not connected correctly it could lead to issues charging and powering on.

You did not mention if the phone shows a power symbol on it when it is plugged in. Some phones will show a power symbol to indicate they are charging. If your device does not indicate that it is charging, it could mean an issue with the charge port or even the charging circuitry of the phone. Charge ports can be replaced, the charging circuitry is on the motherboard of this device and would require essentially a completely new phone to resolve.

      I hope this has helped,
      Matthew Jones.

  258. I replaced the screen assembly on my LG G2 and everything seems to be working fine, but I cannot adjust the brightness on the screen and there is some fog in the top corners or maybe it is cloudy looking?

    1. Hello Alisha and thanks for your question.

I've done some reading on this particular phone and it looks like this issue with adjusting display brightness is common. One quick resolution many users are reporting to have success with is to insert a SIM card into the phone. (May people describing this issue are using the phone without a SIM installed. Simply installing a SIM card will enable the greyed out Display Brightness and Autolock features.

If this does not resolve the issue, I would investigate the new screen, ensure that it is cabled properly.

I hope these suggestions help resolve your issue,
      Matthew Jones.

  259. I upgraded my LG G2 to 5.0.2 lollipop and used it for a while and I noticed it was functioning well, my screen cracked and I had it replaced and ever since then the phone lags through everything, I have to wait for seconds to scroll through pages, run apps and type on the keyboard - even though I get feedback immediately I type it still takes seconds before it shows on screen. I have done soft & hard reset still this problem occurs, what do I do?

    1. Hello Emeka and thanks for your question.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having issues with your recently repaired LG G2. I'll let you know that if you experience issues with the phone being laggy and unresponsive after a screen replacement it could indicate an issue with the quality of the part used to repair the device. I'm not accusing your part supplier but, I have seen it before where sub-par quality parts have caused this type of issue. (I believe it has to do with the part being of lower quality than the OEM grade part.) And without knowing who provided the part, I can't say for 100% that the issue is with the part.

If you've already soft reset and hard reset the next thing I can recommend is to move into replacing hardware components. (So basically if you can put another new screen on there and see if the issue goes away.)

I hope my suggestions have been helpful,
      Matthew Jones.

  260. My LG phone is through Straight Talk and won't go past the blue "TracFone Wireless Inc." screen. All that happened is the phone died last night and now it quit working. What do i do?

    1. Courtney,

I have seen this before. It's commonly caused by a software glitch. One thing you can do is to clear the cache on the device. Not knowing exactly which device model you have I don't have advise on how to reset your cache, but if you knew the model you can search online for a way to reset the Dalvik Cache. If that doesn't work a factory data reset will usually correct this issue and is done with similar steps to a Dalvik Cache reset.

      Thank You,
      Doug B.

  261. Hi, I installed a cm 12 custom ROM on my LG G2 LS 980 and it worked perfectly until the phone dropped and half the screen stopped responding to touch. The LCD is perfect still. I replaced the digitizer + LCD and it worked but whenever the screen times out or lock, it doesn't unlock until the phone is restarted. It just shows a white display until I restart it again. I initially thought the screen was faulty so I changed over 5 different screens but same problem. I put back the old digitizer + LCD and it goes back to working normal. I don't know what yo do as I can't keep using the old screen as part of the digitizer is faulty. Could it be the custom ROM?

    1. Hello Seyi and thanks for the comment.

I have personally run a custom Cyanogen Mod ROM and haven't experienced this issue. With that being said, one quick test would be to re-flash the custom ROM onto the phone. (Possibly even flashing back to the stock ROM)

If changing ROMs doesn't resolve the issue then I suspect something happened to the motherboard of this device during the replacement.

      I hope this helps,
      Matthew Jones.

  262. My lg g2 screen is jumping up and down and shows a cord like thing when it jumps. What should I do please.

    1. Hello Shay and thanks for your question.

From the issues you are describing there is a chance the display on this device needs to be replaced. Generally if the images on the screen are "jumping around" then the display is either damaged or not connected properly. If this device was dropped the display could have become damaged during the drop or potentially cables became dislodged. I would recommend a screen replacement for this device.

      I hope this has helped,
      Matthew Jones.

  263. Hi, dear Doctor
So many thanks for your informative site and your patience.to answer the questions.
I replaced my LG G2 complete screen assembly. After repair the problem is that when plug in to power screen blinks with LG red logo. after holding down key and power for 30second just the red led blinks.more over battery doesn't get charged. is there any wrong with battery?
    Regards
    farzad

    1. Hello Farzad and thanks for the question.

From what you are describing, something might not be installed properly. There could also be a chance that this is simply a software issue. If you can, try and reseat the connections. (Unplug and re-plug the connectors. See if that works.) You might investigate restoring the phone or ultimately "Flashing" the phone back to its "Stock ROM".

I hope my suggestions have been helpful,
      Matthew Jones.

  264. Hi. I just had my LG G2 screen repaired by a repairman because I dropped it and the screen cracked. When I first got it back it worked fine but later on in the evening it started working improperly. When trying to double tap to open, it sometimes wouldn't. Now it's to the point where I can use the button on the back to open it but it won't stay open long enough for me to touch anything on the screen and it just goes black again. I can't even turn it off. To try and restart. Is it a faulty part from the repairman?? Thank You!

    1. Hello Rhonda,

We're sorry to hear about that LG G2 screen replacement. I have run into this issue a few times, commonly this is a issue with the replacement screen. That being said this problem can occur when the new screen is not seated properly into it's new frame. This will create the issues described above. This is a common issue if the frame with the screen is not replaced. I would strongly recommend contacting the repair shop and letting them know of this issue.

      Thank you
      Robin B

  265. hi, i have an LG G2 phone.. the screen is flickering,, we went to the LG service center to fix the screen.. and they fix the flickering of the screen. 3 weeks have passed the screen flickers again.... what will i do to stop and fix the flickering of my phone.. tnx,,

    1. Hello Charles,

We're sorry to hear about the LG G2 Screen flickering. From my experience a flickering screen can be caused by many factors. The first and foremost being the back light resistor, the longer the devices screen was left on and the brighter the screen is kept the shorter the life of the back light resistor. Another issue that can create this issue is frequent sleep and wakes on the phone. If the device is put to sleep then woken up to be put back to sleep multiple times, such as sending a text then sleeping then device to have it wake to have you send another text and put the device back to sleep is also really really bad for the display. With you are basically pulsing the back resistor from on to off repeatedly, and that will shorten the displays overall life. If you have the ability to bring it back to the service station I would strongly recommend it. If not i would contact LG Customer Support to see if they could possibly warranty the device.

      Best wishes
      Robin B

  266. I have a Verizon LG G2, and I cracked the screen, after replacing the LCD & digitizer, the phone looks great and I have full function all across the screen. BUT! Sometimes the screen goes dim to a very low brightness, and sometimes completely off. The digitizer never stops working at all, just the LCD. I can still use the phone, but i can't see anything I'm doing. When it does this, it usually flickers rapidly or just cuts out completely...... I have figured out that if I apply pressure to the bottom of the glass, it will temporarily fix the problem. Is this a install error? If the screen is not sitting down perfectly in the chassis of the phone, could this be the cause? I will admit, the screen has a tiny bit of play. I did the install twice but couldn't get the screen to sit completely flush, and it is lifted up a tiny bit along the bottom right side of the phone.

    Thanks for the help.

    1. Hello Daniel

Sorry to hear about this Lcd problem on your LG G 2. Given that you have done the install on the device twice it sounds possible that the device could be the screen from being installed multiple time that the backlight is going out. I the other hand this could be the back light coil on your device going sour. If that is the case an\\you will see this issue again on the next new screen you install. If that is such the case fixing the backlight coil is not something I recommend. 90% the repair can render a phone useless, replacing the whole unit would be the proper form of action to fix a backlight coil.

      Hope it helps
      Robin B.

  267. I have erratic touchscreen behavior the past few months. When texting in "portrait" orientation using the backspace key will register an 'm', and 'x' for a 'c' and maybe one or two more.

I get around this by rotating the phone.

Does this require a new digitizer?

    1. Hello Mr. Morris

Sorry to hear about that LG G 2. On the issue described above, it sounds likely your digitizer is giving you problems. Given that the backspace key will work in another mode that is not portrait then it is likely just that one section of glass giving you issues. If the screen has never been worked on or damage contacting LG Customer Support to get the device under a manufacturing warranty on the device. If this device is not under warranty with LG a LCD digitizer combo to ready this issue.

      Thank you
      Robin B

  268. Hello I recently left my LG G2 to get repaired because the touchscreen was not working after getting a crack in the surface screen, I later pick the phone after being repaired and the touchscreen was fine again.
The problem is that now when ever I make a call nobody can hear me while I can hear the caller and the headphone jack doesnt seem to work it plays the music from the phone speaker even if I connect the headphones is like its ignoring the headphone connection.

    1. Great Question Soto,

I believe the device might have a bad headphone jack. Sometimes in a repair it can become damaged, but rarely on this phone. I would bring it in to have it looked at. Most establishments offer a warranty for just this type of incident. If it was us, we would cover it for 365 days if it was related to a damaged part during repair.

      Doug B

      1. Hi sorry to bother you with another question its about the same lg g2 from my previous question, the headphone jack is working now, but microphone used for phone calls is not working and the previous technician told me that they used 3 microphone replacements but none seems to work on the phone.
Is there any special reason why the phone mic replacement are not working?
And thank you answering my questions.

  269. Hi, I have an LG G2 D802 phone and have problems using Skype. When I try to connect with someone over Skype, there is often no audio. Sometimes one person can hear the other, but not both ways. Often there is just no audio at all. The instant messaging works fine, so the Skype connection is there for sure. The funny thing is that it is intermittent. If we keep trying to connect, eventually we do get through and then the call works fine - very clear perfect audio both ways. Sometimes (occasionally!) it works first time. More often it takes several calls before it works. We can be trying to call for 5-10 minutes or more before we get it to work.
I Skype with various people, mostly using computers at their end. I have the same problem with all of them, so the problem seems to be definitely at my end, i.e. on the LG device.

Any idea what is the cause of this? or how to fix the problem?
I have tried upgrading Skype to the most recent version but this does not make any difference.

I would be very grateful for any help you can provide!!! Thanks, Mari (in Finland)

    1. Hello Mari,

We are sorry to hear about the issues you have been having with Skype. From the issue you are describing it sounds like you are having issues with your connectivity to the Internet. The problem with Skype is if the Internet connected device does not have enough bandwidth to sustain a VoIP connection then Skype calls are likely to fail back-to-back. If you are using your cellular data this is a common issue here in the US. If you are using a home network, there is a possibility of having a lot of usage on the network and that can give Skype issues as well. To remedy this issue I would recommend using WiFi and limiting the connections from other wireless devices connected to the network. If the issue persists, I would consider contacting you Internet provider or your cell carrier to let them know about your connection issues.

I hope my comments have been helpful.

      Thanks,
      Robin B.

  270. Hello.... there's a row on my LG G2's screen that is unresponsive to touch at all. I haven't dropped it in the time period before the malfunction, it was sudden.. I tried the factory reset and everything, what should I do now?

    1. This is a common issue with the LG. While a great phone, the screens are quite fragile. It is very common that either liquid or a sudden drop can cause the Digi to go out, even with no cracks. I don't have any recommendations other than a new screen on this particular issue, it would need a diagnosis to completely verify.

      Thank you for your time,
      Doug B

  271. My LG G2 was working and running fine and placed on a table in the living room. When I tried to use it approx 1 hour later, the screen didn't come back.
The phone is nearly fully functional. It connects to the computer, data can be transferred, it is charging, the knock-knock feature works, backlight switches on and of when expected, but the display is empty and the backlight appears quite dark. Touch is fully functional. I can unlock with gestures blindly.
I already tried another display, same issue, no change. I already tried a new USB flex cable kit, same issue. I already put it into a bag of rice, no improvement. I already disassembled and reassembled all internal connections without positive effects.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Hello, JR

Sorry to hear about that LG G 2 issue you are having. From the above issue you are describing, it sounds like your motherboard has a blown filter. Given the fact that the device is unable to display after you have replaced, the Uflex cable, and the display and the issue results, this points to motherboard issues. My recommendation is to contact LG to see if the device can have an out of warrant replacement done.

      Hope it helps
      Robin B.

      1. Thanks for quick response. Will try that.
        JR

        1. Warranty claim was accepted.
          Thanks
          JR

  272. I have an LG G2 thru Verizon and I unplugged my phone from the charger to make a call and my phone showed a message Emergency calls only. There's an "x" above the bars and all of a sudden, the invalid sim icon popped up. I've restarted my phone and also powered off completely and restarted, but still can not make/receive calla or texts, but everything else I can use! This is my 2nd LGG2 and this one is just over a year old! Any suggestions or help with this matter is appreciated...thank you!

    1. Hello Denise and thanks for your comment.

This is a very strange occurrence which I have not personally ever seen before. I have heard reports from users which claim that their device either shut off and become unresponsive or experience various hardware component failures after unplugging it from the charger. I know that on this particular device, the LG G2 for Verizion Model # VS980, features an easily replaceable component called the "Charge Port Flex". This part is a fairly large, flexible part which not only houses the charging port but the connections to the SIM card reader. There is a chance that this component has failed and needs to be replaced.

I can offer repair services if you would like to send the device to us. Click on "Main-In Repair" and fill out the form, follow the steps and ship the device to us. We can replace the component and ship it back.

I hope my comments have been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  273. I had my screen or digitizer replaced professionally and this is where it gets very strange. I have the digitizer replaced once for sure after it was cracked. When I picked it up in the store we tested it and it worked fine except for it would only turn off the screen when you did the double tap but would not turn it in, so I'm like ok I can live with that. When I got to my vehicle i pressed the power button to turn it on and swiped the screen to unlock. Then the screen turned right back off instantly and persisted to do just that, I go back in the store hand the guy the phone and it worked just fine went back to the car and it wouldn't work again and I swear to god I'm not lying went back in the store and it worked again. So they ended keeping the phone supposedly they replaced the digitizer again and said something about it not being plugged in right or a bad connection. Got the phone back and again I'm not lying it worked in the store but not at my vehicle, so I took it home to see how it would act and the same thing, the screen would just shut back off instantly. I need help. Is this just bad aftermarket digitizers? Are they a hack repair store?( they supposedly shipped my phone to Arizona the 2nd time) again I need help?

    1. Hello Joshua and thanks for your comment.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having so many issues with this LG G2. I understand how frustrating it is when an issue is very hard to replicate. The term I've heard used most often to describe issues that come and go is 'Intermittent'. Unfortunately, intermittent issues are very hard to diagnose and even more difficult to verify they have gone away after the phone has been repaired.

I don't believe your repair provider is acting underhandedly. It is more profitable to conduct business on the up-and-up and most businesses are run by honest people.

Are you the only one who experiences this issue? Are you able to have someone else replicate the issue by having the phone screen shut off on them? Make sure they are able to hold the phone the same way you hold it when you experience the issue.

This is a stretch but I just thought of it. I know LG phones are known to have issues when their front glass is replaced if the proximity sensor is not installed properly. This is a tiny component which essentially measures how much light is shining on the face of the phone. It makes the decision, based on the light level, to turn of the screen during a phone call. If this component is having issues, you could experience something like this but, generally not to this extent.

Ultimately, it might be something you seek a full device replacement for.

I hope my comments have been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  274. hi. i wish you can help me with my issue. my phone's wifi and bluetooth keeps turning on and off. thats why i cant use wifi. and its draining my battery. it makes my phone really hot and then weeks ago my phone wont turn on and charge. what could be the problem..and can you give me any solution.ty

    1. Hello Mr Martinez,

Sorry to hear about that LG G 2 issue you are having. From the above issue you are describing it sounds to be that your motherboard may be failing. Given that your device prior to not being able to turn on had blue-tooth Wi-Fi issues, points to that motherboard. The next step I would take is possibly switching out it's current battery to see of it will come back on. If not replacing the phone would be your best bet.

      Thank you
      Robin B.

  275. my lg g2 suddenly lags and after i restart the screen is like an analog tv w/out the antena in it what is hapening?

    1. Hello Randy and thanks for your question.

From the issues you are describing it sounds like either a hardware issue could be causing the screen to display what appear to be a "static" image. Another possibility would be that the software on the phone is having issues, although this is much less likely.

If your display is the cause of the issues then replacing it should resolve your issues.

I do believe it is much more likely that this set of issues points to a Motherboard issue and I would recommend replacing the device completely to resolve Motherboard issues.

I hope my comments have proven to be helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  276. When I turn on my LG G2, it has the LG logo but it has a black bar going down half of the screen. It also has a large white cloud around the middle/edges of the phone. the sensor still works. how can i fix it?

    1. Hello Colleen,

Sorry to hear about that LCD issue you are having. From the problem you are describing it sounds be that you LCD has sustained internal damage. To fix this issue it sounds to be that a replacement screen should get your device back up and going. With cloudiness around the edges and lines running up the screen, makes this device a prime candidate for a screen replacement.

      Hope it helps
      Robin B.

  277. Hi!
I have a problem with the screen brightness of my LG G2. The screen is flickering and the screen brightness is low and it can't be adjusted.

However, there is nothing wrong with the display or the flex cable, because I moved the motherboard to another phone, and the problem persisted on that phone, too. So it must be a problem with the motherboard, but how can I know what is wrong and if it could be fixed?

    Regards, Jesper

    1. Hello Jesper and thanks for the question.

From the issue you are describing, there sounds like there is motherboard damage. I know that it is not uncommon for motherboards to have a filtering component between the LED Backlight and the capacitor which does the step-up to the higher voltage required to run those bright LEDs. For example, the iPad Mini has a very small filter which if blown during the repair, results in the device displaying correctly but, with no backlight.

If your motherboard presents the same issues with a known good screen then replacing the motherboard might be the only resolution.

I hope my comments have proven to be helpful.

  278. HelIo,
I have problem with the mobile network on my LG G2 D802, the signal comes on 4 -5 minutes and then lost for long time. I made hard reset,I put another sim kard, I made downgrade from lollipop to kit kat and the same problem . Wi-fi is working. Can i fix it?

    1. Hello Todor and thanks for the question.

From the issue you are describing, problems with cellular connectivity, there are a few things you can attempt but, it may ultimately be something where the device has sustained some sort of motherboard related damage and may not be repairable.

A lot of phones include the antenna on the Charge Port. I believe the LG G2, LS980 and VS980 feature a charge port flex part which includes the Wi-Fi antenna and cellular antenna. Replacing this component may resolve your issues.

I hope my suggestions prove to be helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  279. hi david
i have a very serious issue in my LG G2 mobile. i have purchased it a month before .at first it was working very well and have no problem but after one month my mobile screen starts buffering alot.
i cant type text any more nor i can open an app at my own choice. In 2 to 3 seconds many apps open itself even pattern is over there.
in addition at the top of the screen just about one inch below the screen stops responding at all in horizontal shape.
i cant understand what should i have to do in order that it start working properly again.
i have also reset my mobile but still the problem exist.
I will wait for your help.

    thanks,

    humayun khan

    1. Hello Khan,

We are sorry to hear about that LG G2 issue you are having. From the above issue you are describing it sounds to be that you may want to try to re-flash your stock on the device using a computer. If after resetting the device you are having the same issue I recommend that you either contact LG or consider possibly replacing the screen of the device.

      Best of luck
      Robin B.

  280. I bought my LG G2 used from a store , everything is fine but when I plug it to the charger the touche is not working normally anymore when i touch on any app it somehow touch another place ,one more thing I should say it is not an lg charger .
Is it a software or hardware problem ?

    Please help , thank you

    1. Hello Warith and thanks for your question.

From the issue you describing, the digitizer unable to properly recognize touch input while plugged into charger, may indicate that a short somewhere inside the phone is allow a connection where it should not. There could also be a voltage issue whereby the screen is detecting a higher or lower amount of voltage and is registering the touch input higher or lower than where it actually is. This sounds like the issue could be resolved by replacing the screen but, if replacing the screen results in this issue persisting, then I believe it's a motherboard issue and the best option would be to replace the device.

I hope my comments have been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  281. I just bought used HTC ONE M7 sprint the problem is the battery when i use the phone it seems normal (20 minutes of watching videos used like 4% of the charge ) but when i sleep the battery drops about 17% ,Is the battery normal or should i switch it with another device ?

    1. Hello Ali and thanks for the question.

From what you are describing, it sounds like the phone might actually be working harder when you have it asleep. Do you know if there are any applications which are configured to keep the phone awake and working? Sometimes messenger applications can keep the phone awake, do you use an application which sends instant messages? Exchange email accounts can sometimes cause the phone to stay awake while it downloads the email boxes. Overall, it does sounds like a software related issue which could be resolved by restoring the phone.

The reason I say this is because when you're doing something actively, like watching a video, you're only dropping the normal percentage amount. It's only when you place the phone in sleep mode that it starts to "drain" the battery faster than expected. This tells me that the battery is working fine, it is just being used at unexpected times.

I hope my comments have been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

      1. Hello Matthew Jones, and thanks for your help
I just wanted to tell you i installed the Zapya , the MX player and Piano tales 2
I will restore the phone , I will even try to update the software if its help ...
I hope it is a software issue .
        thank you again

  282. My lg g2 keeps turning off when its shook hard or when it hits something slightly.

    1. Hello Abdullah and thanks for the question.

From the issue you are describing it sounds like the battery in that phone might be loose. Generally speaking, it's not uncommon for a device to power off when shaken hard or dropped. (If you remember those flip phones from a few years back, they'd pretty much always have the back cover pop off and the battery fly out.) The battery is one of the largest single components inside the phone so things like Inertia and Momentum affect it a little more than other smaller components. Generally speaking, opening the phone to resecure the battery is straight forward and inexpensive.

I hope that helps answer your question.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  283. Hi!I dropped my phone in the bus and the screen became black and after i on a few times, the bottom part became white.I tried to off my phone and also pressing the power and volume button but only vertical lines and black screen were shown. Is there any way to fix it?

    1. Hello LiJun and thank you for your comment.

From the issue you are describing it does sound like the LCD on the device has incurred some sort of damage and is no longer functioning properly. The LG G2 does have a fairly straightforward repair option which allows the screen to be removed and replaced with a working one. If you are unable to find a local provider for this repair, I can offer "Mail-In Repair" through a link at the top of my homepage.

I can't guarantee that the only issue you are having is with the LCD but, from my experience it is hard to damage the internal components of the phone but, very simple to damage the glass and LCD on the front of the phone.

I hope my comments have been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  284. My LG G2 is having issues with the touchscreen just in a bar across the top section. I've run a screen test and you can see a block line across the section that shows no signs of the touch pad being responsive. I'm just wondering where I should start in terms of repair. The rest of the touchscreen works fine and the LCD display is perfect. Just one 0.5 inch section is cut off across the top.

    1. Hello Matthew and thank you for the comment.

From the issue you are describing the best resolution I could recommend would be to replace the screen on this device. The LG G2 utilizes a "Fused Display" meaning that the Glass, Digitizer, and LCD are glued together with Optically Clear Adhesive, or "OCA Glue". Separating these pieces is a nightmare and I don't recommend you attempt the repair unless you are comfortable with replacing the whole display in the event it gets damaged during the attempt. If it were my device, I would just do a full screen replacement.

I hope my comment has been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  285. I dropped my LG G2 and now it will not power on at all, please help me I've replaced my phone 4 times already I can't replace it again ?

    1. Hello Yvette and thank you for the question.

From the issue you are describing it sounds like something went wrong during that impact and is causing the phone to not power on. I would recommend you start by attempting to reset the device by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons. If you are still not seeing anything, plug it into a computer. If the computer does not see anything then this device is acting completely unresponsive and you may need to take it into a service provider.

I hope my comment has been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  286. I have HTC one M7 after a while when I charge it . it takes a lot of time so I downloaded an app to measure the voltage ,
    the app is AMPERE .
In my phone the max is 250 in my brother's phone it's 1200 and when its 90 % the light in the phone used to change to green but now it is just red .
Is the problem from the battery or from the charging port ?
Another thing the microphone when i call sometime works normally and sometimes the person on other end of call can't hear me well If I used the speaker he hears me very well .

    please help me ... thanks

    1. Hello abdullah,

We are sorry to hear about that HTC M7 issue you are having. From the above issue you are describing it sounds to be that your battery and charge port maybe having issues. The apps from the play store can be misleading. Android is an emulation of hardware and software, apps may not always produce desired reading on internal parts or components. thou from the mic issues you are describing it sounds to be that your charge port may be going out, as with the m7 the main microphone is right next to the charge port. Try replacing it to see if your issue is resolved.

      Best of luck
      Robin B.

  287. My lg g2 screen went all black. One minute i was using it fine then this happened. I couldnt turn the phone on or off. The phone wont stay on and i cant do a reboot or dload mode or safe mode. I can do safe mode only if i hold both the up and down volume at the same time. It will allow me to get i to the phone but once i let the buttons go it shuts down and goes to the lg screen. I have tried hooking it up to my pc via a usb but it wont recognize my phone. It keeps trying to reboot (only at the lg screen) then freezes on a black screen. I have alot of videos and photos of my kids that are on there. I did do an lg back up but i cant access the back up to send it to another phone. Please help...i have spent countless hrs trying to figure out what to do. The backup is on the lg app on the phone. I dont think it sends it to an external email even though i set one up.

    1. Hello Hillary and thank you for the question.

From the issue you are describing it sounds like there could be an issue with that phone which is preventing it from turning on properly. I would attempt a battery replacement. It might cause the phone to be able to turn on and function normally. If the battery does not cause the phone to be able to turn on then I am not sure exactly what could be causing that issue. Usually if the phone is acting like that and you can get it into Download mode, then you want to attempt a software Restore. This will erase the device and any of your data off of it. (So this option might not be one you want to take.)

I hope my comments have proven to be helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  288. I havent been able to use my camra since i drooped in a toilet :-( i have an Lg. G stylis android everything else works fine just not the camra and u know no camra no recording it just says unfortunetly camra cant connect" or camra stopped working. Smh any suggestions?

    1. Hello Sharonda and thank you for the question.

From the issue you are describing it sounds like that phone may have a bad camera now due to the liquid damage. I would recommend that you take this device to a service provider and ask them to clean off the phone's internals of any residual from the liquid exposure. I would then test the camera out and replace it only if it was still not functioning. Replacing the camera might work but, your issue might be with a connection somewhere else in the phone. So I can not say for 100% that replacing the camera would resolve this issue. There is a slight chance the issue is within the motherboard and it would be very difficult to pin-point which component is faulty.

I hope my comment has been helpful.

      Thank You,
      Matthew Jones.

  289. Hello I have a g2 which radio, WiFi and Bluetooth stopped working suddenly also it goes off whenever on sleep mode. Some four months ago it fell into water is rain water for which I got it repaired and changed the screen because the water damaged it. I have taken it to the repair center and nobody there seems to know what to do with it from Nigeria . Please any help will be highly appreciated

    1. Hello Dennis and thank you for the question.

I want to let you know that it sounds like this phone may be to the point where it is no longer repairable. Sometimes liquid damage can be recovered and cleaned off the phone but, in this case it sounds like the motherboard has sustained severe damage. I would recommend backing up the phone and make sure you have all important data saved. I would then recommend looking into a replacement device.

I hope my comments have proven to be helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  290. My LG G2 touch screen has become almost completely non responsive & getting worse. It hasn't had anything happen to it, dropping etc. I've saw tonight several other ppl have had issues with the touch screen but I would really appreciate it if someone would email me & let me know if there is a trouble shooting technique I could try?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jona
    *Redacted by Matthew J.*

    1. Hello Jona and thank you for the question.

From the issue you are describing it sounds like the issues with your touch screen might be related to hardware failure. To determine this for sure I would recommend disabling any additional services, such as Messenger applications or weather applications which might be using the processor without being obvious about it. Sometimes the phone can become unresponsive if the workload is very high. If you are able to disable processes and notice an improvement in the performance of the touchscreen, that could indicate the issue is with software. (At that point I may recommend you restore the device on a computer back to factory defaults.) If you have issues which are obviously not software, meaning they never get better, your only option might be to replace the front screen on that device.

I hope my comments have been helpful.

      Thank you,
      Matthew Jones.

  291. Hello,

I've had LG G2 for about year and half with no issues, but few months ago the screen started to flicker, sometimes to a degree that makes the phone unusable. I've seen many other people on the internet having the same issue, but there is no 100% successful solution. I've already got the battery and the screen replaced, but after less than a week of using the phone, the flickering returned. Also because I won the phone, it is not in a warranty and those repairs are rather expensive. Is there anything else I could try? Because getting motherboard also replaced would be pretty much as expensive as getting a new phone. Any help or suggestion would be great, I've been without properly working phone for a few months now.

    Thank you
    E.

    1. Hello Etuta,

Sorry to hear about that LG G2 problem you are having, from the above issues you have described, it would sound to be that you back light resistor is going out. Normally when this resistor starts going out this flicker will get worse until the back-light eventually stops working. Given you have replaced the screen and the battery on the device and it was a temporary fix, this strongly points to motherboard damage, I recommend that consider a out of warranty replacement with LG Customer Support, given the device being unusable.

      I hope it helps
      Robin B.

  294. Hi, so I have an LG phone after losing my samsung. And I'm having a very peculiar issue. The screen will only fully come on when I am in a lighted place or when I aim the phone at a bright light. Some sort of screwy sensor or an odd setting that I can't find? Hi, I know this is a super old site but I replaced the whole front panel of my LG Stylo 3 (including the glass, lcd, and digitzer as well as everything else on the front panel) and when I use the old motherboard, the screen acts as if it's still cracked or something, I can tell it's loading my lock screen but its all jumbled around and incoherent, I can still swipe on the screen. I really have no idea why it wont work and I've tried connecting it and reconnect it multiple times as well as making sure the motherboard is clean, any ideas?
