   If you’re reading this, you can imagine the heart-sink feeling of seeing your new iPhone 4s’ screen cracked or shattered. I thought they used ‘Gorilla Glass’ in them??

   Good news is that Phone Doctors is out there for you. Their fairly priced kit includes the LCD, a full set of tools and the key to it all: the ScrewMat.

   Once you begin to disassemble your phone by following along with Phone Doctors’ video, you’ll find impossibly small screws. I’m shocked that there are screws that small, and even more shocked that the ScrewMat does such a great job of capturing the screws on this magnetized mat. You won’t lose them.

   Make sure you read before you start and pay attention to the call-outs!…particularly the one about the ribbon cable on the LCD (make sure it’s pulled all the way through the apeture).

   And my iPhone is back to perfect and working like nothing ever happened.

   This was my first repair of an iPhone and found it simple enough to do thanks to the PhoneDoctors video. The kit arrived from Tulsa to my house in California in about 3 days. The process went well and olny had a few tough moments when I was wondering how hard I needed to pull on a couple stubborn parts. The tools provided are nice quailty except for the flat blade screwdriver for the special screws. Its blade seemed to be wrong size and would not stay on screw while turning.
   The only reason I give 4 stars on this review instead of 5 is because of the screw mat. It looks cheap and a lot smaller than expected. The image of the phone is actually smaller than a real phone size. The printing is low resolution and wasnt very easy to read. This mat needs to be twice the size in my opininion.

   Final note on my installation, I used my OEM home button and it sits just a tiny bit low on new LCD. Not a big deal but you can feel the sharp ridge a bit. Maybe I installed it sloppy, don’t know. An additional black sticker would have corrected that problem. Next time I order, I will get some spare screws and stickers.

   I have fixed a few Apple products, and have ordered from many different suppliers. I have always had an issue with getting exactly what I ordered, or the shipping took forever!

   So after a few experiences I made sure to order from the US. The first time I did, I ordered from a place in Virginia. The shipping was faster, but the quality was still questionable.

   I went on the hunt for a professional organization that had good shipping, and good products. I found Phone Doctors and ordered from them.

   I was very pleased. First let me say, I opened the USPS package and the screen was in a box! A nice box, labeled correctly with Phone Doctors info on it. And my receipt was hand signed and marked as “tested.”

   The screen installed perfectly. And also – the screw mat is worth every single penny!

   Well, after 45 minutes, my iPhone 4s screen is no longer shattered !! All I can say is, this is not for the novice user. This takes patience more than anything. Perfect little magnet mat, you would be seriously screwed without it. Don’t go pay $150 bucks for this at Apple, do it yourself and save some money, not to mention learn a little bit thanks again guys

   Was very thankful for the video. Was not so thankful for the fact that phonedoctors sent me the wrong screw mat. That made it more difficult than it had to be. Still, a straightforward replacement with great instructions in the video.

   I had some difficulty (user error, I’m sure!) and had to call the help line. I was pleased that Corey, who answered the phone and assisted me, was not simply an answering service reading from a list of prescribed answers. Rather, he was clearly a trained–and interested–technician who was even willing to chat again should I have had further problems. Happily his advice was sound and the phone then worked. It is customer service such as yours that will make me both use your products again and highly recommend phonedoctors to others. Additionally the Phillips screwdriver sent to me was much nicer than the one in the You Tube video in terms of the size of the handle and ease of operation. My only suggestion is a small one: increase the magnetism on it. I had to use another screw driver to position the screws then switch to the Phillips.

   the video was excellent in helping with the replacement of my screen and lcd, however the picture is grainy and is certainly not equal to the retina display quality of the original. whats cool is that is automatically comes with a screen protector so no need to go get that. all in all it beats buying a new phone or Paying Apple more than twice as much

     Hey Cory! The LCD should be the exact same quality as an original iPhone LCD. If it’s not, please use the contact us page and send us your order number and we will replace it at no charge. The free screen protector is something new that we’re trying. We can’t guarantee that it will be on every LCD, but we love to under-promise and over-deliver whenever possible. I’m glad you’re happy overall, and yes it’s much better than buying a new phone.

   ***READ THIS BEFORE DOING**** This is a great product that can be used by a wide range in electronics skill level. Patience is a virtue with doing this as some of the parts are breakable. The only reason that it does not get 5 stars is because the video forgets something! The internal speaker cover mesh that goes on the ear piece is pre-installed on the video and not on the phone I received. So I now have to take the phone apart again just to install that stupid cover. Oh and there is also a small color defect on the left side of my screen

     Hi James.

     We used to provide it pre-installed. However the speaker mesh simply lays in a tray and we were getting complaints from people who had turned the LCD over, lost it and assumed that it was never shipped. So now we put it in a special bag and include a large caution card to try to remind people to check for things such as the speaker grate during installation.

     A small color defect is typically from a shard of glass or some other foreign object laying under the LCD. We test each and every screen as it is packed. However, mistakes can happen so if the issue does not go away when the LCD is simply plugged in and not connected to the housing, then call our toll-free number and take advantage of our 6 month warranty. We want you to have a phone that looks as good as it did on the day you bought it.

    It was a sad day night for me when I closed the hood of my Jeep on my iPhone, smashing the front and the back. Had it for 2 Months, no insurance. It worked for awhile..kind of. Then it stopped. So I had to use Siri to do everything. And trust me, you’ll notice after 4 months of only using Siri, that there are actulally alot of bugs. Very frustrating sometimes getting the phone to text the correct words and more than 1 sentence without stopping. I was doomed to buy a new phone. Then I came across this site and seen it looked pretty legit and popular. I watched Alex’s video on how to fix 4s. I bought the stuff and it was here in 2 days!! I’ve never took an iPhone apart nor would I have even thought of trying before this. I had the front and back done in about an hour. Phones as good as new. Screen quality and sensitivity is just as great as the original. Wow I am so glad I found this site!! Thanks Phone Doctors!!!!! You saved me 500 dollars! Highly recommend you buy this repair kit.

    TL;DR: I would buy again. Display quality is as good as the original. There’s just a couple of differences with the finishes.

    Pros:
    - Screwmat is really useful (print quality sucks but it doesn’t matter)
    - Video really useful
    - Picture quality of display is the same original 4S retina quality
    - Well packaged and good information contained within the box
    - All necessary tools included
    - Fast shipping (5 days to Canada during peak shipping period)

    Cons:
    - The white/finish is not like the original. It’s not as vibrant and a tiny bit yellowish. The side of the screen has a different feel to the touch.
    - Earphone mesh isn’t the original. It might be possible to switch it with the original mesh. I was able to remove the mesh from the broken screen but did this after I was done repairing my phone so I’m not sure if I can just pop it on the new screen.
    - The proximity sensor looks a bit different than the original.

    Note: It doesn’t come with a new home button. I presume in most cases it doesn’t break so you just need to take the old one.

      Hi Patrick. Thanks for the detailed review. I am glad you would buy this again. The color on the white should be exactly the same as the original. I suspect it is possible for some batches to not be as good as others, but if there is ever a problem, please call us and we will promptly replace it. Yes the earphone mesh can easily be transferred from the original to the replacement part. Many of the differences you described would likely not be noticed by the rest of us, but we appreciate your review nonetheless!

    I am amazed that I was able to replace my screen myself! I am a single female and was determined to make it happen! The screen mat was essential and luckily I had a flat head screwdriver at home b/c I wasn’t provided one with my tools but that is a non-issue.

    Amazing! I replaced the shattered screen on my daughter’s iphone 4s and now I have a “brand new” iphone for myself. (She got herself the 5). I got the replacement screen and tools/mat from phonedoctors. I watched the video first then watched it again pausing it as I performed each step. Perfect.
